Chapter 1233: His Real Name

The boy was stunned as he suddenly found himself sitting on the floor, in a completely different environment. He looked around fourteen or fifteen years old, had short blonde hair, and his condition was pitiful.

He only wore a tattered one-piece fabric that was torn in several places. His body and face were full of wounds and swollen bruises. Blood stained many parts of his body, especially his lips, nose, hands, and feet. He truly looked like someone who had just been tortured.

Aldrian could sense that this young man was a cultivator at low beginner stage. Seeing someone so young already experiencing something like this truly made him angry.

Moreover, this boy was one of the followers of his followers, or perhaps even one of his own believers.

The boy’s expression immediately turned fearful when he saw Aldrian. He quickly tried to move away from him by pushing his body backward with his feet.

Aldrian showed him a warm smile.

"Don’t be scared. I’m not going to hurt you. I came to save you. This is already outside the prison area, and you will be safe from now on."

The boy’s rapid breathing and fearful expression finally started to lessen. However, he did not completely trust Aldrian yet as he still looked at him with frightened eyes.

"Who are you, sir? Where am I?" the boy asked after gathering his courage.

"My name is Aldrian, and you are inside one of the restaurants more than a thousand kilometres away from the prison. The restaurant is called Northern Wind Flavour."

The boy’s eyes widened in shock. He knew the restaurant, but he did not expect that he would suddenly appear right here when only a few seconds ago, he had been confined inside a small cell.

How could Aldrian do that?

"Uh... uhm... thank you for saving me... but... uh... do you know me, Mister Aldrian?" the boy asked.

"Well, I don’t know you personally, but I know your name, Wei Lang," Aldrian replied.

Wei Lang was stunned and wanted to ask more questions, but he saw Aldrian stand up from his seat, which made him flinch. He unconsciously moved his body away using his feet as if he had developed trauma from his experience.

Aldrian, who saw it, felt bad and understood the reason behind it, but he continued approaching Wei Lang and went down on one knee once he arrived beside him.

Wei Lang also did not try to distance himself again as he realized what he was doing. He did not want to appear impolite in front of the man who had saved him.

He then saw Aldrian touch his right arm, which he currently had difficulty moving.

"Ugh," Wei Lang flinched and grunted in pain the moment Aldrian touched him.

Aldrian, who was checking the condition of his body, understood the severity of his injuries.

There was no doubt that his body had undergone severe torture. Broken bones in many places, shattered teeth, and bleeding in several internal organs had placed his life in danger if left untreated.

From Aldrian’s estimation, Wei Lang would at most have one week left before succumbing to his injuries.

Without waiting any further, Aldrian injected his golden energy into Wei Lang’s body, and at that exact moment, Wei Lang could instantly feel the sensation.

A warm and comfortable feeling spread throughout his body, making him forget his pain for a moment. He could feel the pain slowly disappearing while the wounds on his body rapidly healed.

It had not even been ten seconds before he no longer felt any pain, and Aldrian stopped sending his energy.

Wei Lang blinked a few times and looked at his arms and body.

All of his wounds had already disappeared!

He was amazed. Every movement he made no longer resulted in pain unlike more than ten seconds ago. He did not feel any discomfort at all.

He looked at Aldrian with a grateful gaze and instantly kowtowed to him.

"Thank you, mister, for healing me."

Aldrian smiled and nodded.

"Let’s eat. I know you must be hungry. I already ordered some food for us," Aldrian said as he returned to his seat.

The moment Wei Lang heard the word food, the sound of his stomach growling could be heard. He suddenly realized that he had not eaten or drunk anything for more than three days. Since arriving here, he had not focused on the smell of food because of how chaotic his emotions were.

The pain and uncertainty he felt after suddenly appearing in a new place and seeing an unknown man had made him forget his hunger.

Now that Aldrian offered him food, he could feel his stomach already protesting and urging him to fill it.

How could he refuse such an offer?

He stood up and approached the vacant seat across from Aldrian before seeing the many dishes on the table. A large glass of drink had also already been prepared for him, which made him gulp hard. He even wiped the corner of his lips as his drool almost spilled out.

"Eat as much as you want. If you still feel it’s not enough, I will order more," Aldrian said with a smile.

Wei Lang looked at Aldrian and bowed to him.

"Thank you, mister."

He then took his seat and immediately started eating. He seemed to have already forgotten Aldrian’s presence and kept eating while Aldrian only observed him with a smile. Wei Lang had already forgotten his manners as he stuffed many dishes into his mouth as if he forgot Aldrian was sitting right in front of him.

He truly swallowed everything in front of him as if his stomach were a black hole that could never be filled.

After more than thirty minutes, Wei Lang finally finished eating and sighed in relief with his stomach slightly bloated. All the plates in front of him had also been cleaned empty.

Only after that did he finally realize how inappropriate he had looked. He straightened his body and lowered his head.

"My apologies, mister. I was impolite to you. I ate all the food here without caring about my manners," he said with full remorse.

Aldrian waved his hand.

"No problem. Actually, I ordered all of this just for you anyway, so don’t feel bad about it."

Wei Lang sighed in relief and looked at Aldrian again, this time with a much clearer mind. He did not know who this person was, and he did not remember ever seeing him before.

Aldrian was a complete stranger to him, yet it seemed Aldrian knew him and had even helped him escape from prison.

’Is Mister Aldrian my father or mother’s friend? But I never heard of them having a friend like him, and they only have a few friends,’ Wei Lang thought.

Thinking that he would not receive any answer if he kept guessing by himself, he decided to gather his courage and ask Aldrian directly.

"Mister, are you acquainted with my parents?"

Aldrian shook his head.

"No, I don’t know your parents. And I understand why you asked that. In fact, I only learned about you less than a day ago, and the only thing I knew was your name. I got your name and learned what happened to you from the staff members of the restaurant where you worked."

Wei Lang raised his eyebrows and his body stiffened. His heart skipped a beat, and he suddenly felt nervous.

He had truly forgotten one thing.

If Aldrian knew he had been imprisoned, then he must also know what kind of thing he had done that resulted in his imprisonment.

He had been caught in possession of something taboo.

However, Aldrian still dared to help him even after knowing he had committed a severe crime in the eyes of many people here.

Why would he willingly drag himself into trouble just to help him?

Was he not afraid of the massive consequences that might fall upon him for helping someone like him?

’Does he need something from me? But I don’t think I have anything that could attract anyone.’

Aldrian, who had remained silent while watching Wei Lang grow nervous and confused, finally spoke again.

"I know what kind of thoughts you are having, and my reason for helping you is not what you think."

Wei Lang was stunned.

’Could he read my mind?’

"Then... mister?" Wei Lang asked with a confused expression.

Aldrian still maintained his smile.

"Wei Lang, or should I say Pei Lang, the bloodline of the Pei family, that is your family true identity, right?" Aldrian asked, causing Wei Lang, or rather Pei Lang, to widen his eyes in shock.

His eyes trembled and his mouth hung open.

"You... mister... how... how did you know? It should be..." He stopped speaking. His voice trembled.

Aldrian continued smiling when he saw his shocked expression. Of course he knew his identity after checking Pei Lang through the system.

Inside the system, Wei Lang’s real name had been written as Pei Lang.

And how did he know that Wei Lang was the boy he had been looking for despite never seeing his face before?

That was because of the cultivation technique Wei Lang used.

Wei Lang used a cultivation technique that had once been used by the followers of one of the gods who had also become one of Aldrian’s followers.

Added with Wei Lang’s age and the fact that he was the only person fitting the description inside the high-security prison, Aldrian was almost certain that Wei Lang was the person he had been searching for.

Seeing how Aldrian only smiled without saying anything further, Pei Lang did not know what to think.

The fact that Aldrian knew his family’s true identity was already confusing enough as this matter was only supposed to be known by his parents and himself. His parents had already told him about their origin as members of the Pei family, and they only used the surname Wei as camouflage to hide their true identity.

They were also the ones who had always instilled faith toward their god within him, which made him continue believing in their god even if it was dangerous.

Who was Aldrian? How did he know about his family’s true origin?
