The Transcendent competition had concluded, and Ye Qingdie had a filming task. Xu Mo of the Stark Team had taken first place, and the buzz was still alive, which could be leveraged for some publicity.

Without wasting time, Ye Qingdie descended the stairs and drove toward the Stark Group.

Although Xu Mo had reached this point through his own abilities, without external power’s assistance it would have been difficult. Stark Hao undoubtedly saved Xu Mo from many detours, for which Ye Qingdie was very grateful. Otherwise, upon their arrival at the Capital, they would have had to start from the bottom. Although she believed Xu Mo would have eventually reached this stage, the difficulty would have been much greater.

Just settling people around him was a major issue; these had all been resolved when they first arrived at the Capital.

Vehicles shuttled through the Capital’s Chuanxing City. The flying devices in the sky and the high rails in the distance still made Ye Qingdie feel like she was in a dream.

Many high-rises still displayed scenes from the Transcendent competition. Watching those scenes featuring a familiar figure, Ye Qingdie smiled knowingly.

How wonderful!

Where would Xu Mo’s future be?

"You can do it!" said Ye Qingdie out loud as if to encourage herself; she had to work hard or she’d be left behind.

Ye Qingdie’s vehicle arrived on a bustling street, which was quite narrow, bustling with people, and filled with a mechanical vibe; many Mechanical Bodies walked on the road, like robots.

Ye Qingdie slowed down as she maneuvered through the street, when suddenly, several cars behind her sped up and overtook her on the not-so-spacious road.

They got in front of Ye Qingdie’s car and then began to slow down.

Ye Qingdie furrowed her brow. She glanced through the rear-view mirror and saw vehicles tightly following her, blocking the road behind her.

This instantly made her extremely wary, and she dialed Stark Hao’s number through the Communicator in her vehicle.

"Sister Ye." Stark Hao called out.

"I might be being tracked. I’ve sent the location. Don’t tell Xu Mo yet, it might be targeting him," Ye Qingdie said to Stark Hao. She had no enemies in Chuanxing City and rarely interacted with others; no one would risk breaking the law to target her.

There was only one possibility: it wasn’t her they were targeting, but Xu Mo.

Hence, Ye Qingdie chose to inform Stark Hao instead of Xu Mo and asked Stark Hao not to tell Xu Mo, fearing Xu Mo might come here and be in danger.

"Ssshhh…"

No sooner had Ye Qingdie finished speaking, than the vehicles ahead suddenly stopped. Ye Qingdie braked hard, the tires screeching against the ground, and with a loud bang, she rear-ended the car in front.

"Understood, I will notify the nearby Security Bureau and send people over immediately. Hang in there," Stark Hao responded, then hung up the Communicator.

Ye Qingdie’s body lurched forward, nearly hitting the steering wheel. After stopping, she locked the car doors, only to see then that people from both the vehicles ahead and behind were getting out, all heavily armed and heading straight for her.

The vehicle backed up a bit, then in the next moment, Ye Qingdie slammed on the accelerator—her vehicle rocketed forward, pushing the car in front along before squeezing it to the side; her vehicle surged ahead crazily.

"Stop her," a voice sounded. They had intended to swiftly capture Ye Qingdie, but her reaction was too quick and decisive, so taking her away quietly now seemed unlikely.

Ahead, a large vehicle opened its rear compartment door, and several people jumped down. Ye Qingdie swiftly turned the steering wheel towards the side; pedestrians frenziedly scattered as her vehicle burst into the flow of people, continuing forward.

The figures that had jumped from the large vehicle directly headed for her direction; one of them raised their firearm and opened fire.

"Boom..."

A blasting sound echoed, hitting the tires of Ye Qingdie’s vehicle. The vehicle skidded into a wall while a group of people quickly ran toward Ye Qingdie.

Ye Qingdie leaped out of the vehicle and dashed into a building beside the street.

She could not be caught by them; it wasn’t her they were after. If she were captured, she would become a hostage to threaten Xu Mo.

Just after Xu Mo won first place in the Transcendent competition, these people hadn’t directly targeted him, probably knowing it wouldn’t be easy to succeed, so they opted to start with her.

"Bang."

The crowd hurriedly poured in; Ye Qingdie ran up the building, needing to buy time.

Ye Qingdie was fast, racing upward, soon reaching the rooftop. She heard the sounds behind her as her pursuers caught up.

Ye Qingdie heard the noise behind her; a line of people with guns walked toward her.

They had been ordered to take her alive, and having already lost much time, they couldn’t afford more delays.

Running forward with guns ready and hearing footsteps behind her, Ye Qingdie looked ahead. She stepped back with her right foot, bent her knees, and suddenly propelled herself forward, leaping towards the opposite side.

Her body arched through the air, her feet flailing. As she began to fall, Ye Qingdie stretched out her hands towards a window on the opposite building.

"Bang." Her body slammed against the wall, and her hands missed their mark. As she slid down, her body collided with obstacles; she struggled to maintain her balance, grasping at obstructions with her hands as her delicate skin scraped, leaving trails of blood.
