Chapter 773: 773. Rookie Cultivators’ Assembly

"Congratulations, Young Master."

Jack Nelson smiled as he extended his hand. Tyler shook it firmly. After both parties carefully reviewed the deed and the oath contract, they signed their names. The ownership transfer was completed on the spot inside the Sunflower Inn.

From that moment onward, the Sunflower Inn officially belonged to Tyler.

Tyler looked around the hall before turning to the manager.

"Arrange rooms for my companions. Also, see if you can free up five premium rooms. Inform the current guests that we’ll compensate them with twice the room fee if they’re willing to move."

"At once, Young Master."

The staff hurried away. Since the inn had changed owners, nobody dared to delay the new master’s orders.

About fifteen minutes later, the manager returned with an apologetic expression.

"Young Master, only three guests accepted the compensation. The others refused to leave, so we only managed to prepare three premium rooms."

Before Tyler could answer, Jack Nelson spoke from the side.

"Actually, there’s another option. Every owner of the Sunflower Inn has a private residence on the top floor. It’s separate from the guest rooms and isn’t listed as part of the inn."

Tyler nodded. "That works."

Jack smiled. Although the inn had been sold, he had rented a room for himself. Tomorrow was the Rookie Cultivators’ Assembly, and more importantly, Tyler had promised to reveal something new. His curiosity simply wouldn’t let him leave.

Shyla hesitated for a moment before quietly saying, "Then... Boss, I’ll stay in the owner’s residence and help take care of anything you need."

Tyler didn’t think much of it and simply nodded.

"Alright."

The room arrangements were quickly settled. Lee, Louch, and Maximus each took one of the premium rooms, while Tyler moved into the owner’s room. Shyla naturally followed, bringing her skeleton and luggage with her.

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the windows as Tyler slowly opened his eyes. Shyla was still asleep beside him, the blanket carelessly draped over her. Tyler quietly got out of bed, washed up, and changed into fresh clothes.

A moment later, Shyla also woke up with a sleepy yawn. The blanket fell revealing her naked body.

Her suitcase suddenly trembled. The lid slowly opened, and scattered bones flew out one after another, assembling themselves into a familiar humanoid skeleton. It stretched its arms as though waking from a long sleep before standing obediently beside her.

Watching the scene, Tyler suddenly remembered something.

"Oh, right."

He took out four empty storage bags from his robe and tossed them toward Shyla.

"I forgot these yesterday. Give one each to Lee, Louch, and Maximus. Keep the last one for yourself."

Shyla caught them with both hands. Her eyes immediately curved into crescents.

"Thank you, Boss."

Before leaving, she stepped forward, lightly kissed Tyler on the cheek, then happily walked out of the room with her skeleton following closely behind.

Shyla suddenly stopped walking and turned around.

"Boss... can I ask you something?"

"Hm? What is it?"

She smiled mischievously. "This isn’t payment for... special services, is it?"

Tyler looked at her blankly before flicking her forehead.

"Then what special service did Maximus, Lee, and Louch provide? They all received one too."

Shyla rubbed her forehead and pouted.

"So I don’t get any special treatment?"

"Women..." Tyler muttered helplessly.

He suddenly snatched one of the storage bag back from her hand.

Shyla’s face immediately fell.

Before she could complain, Tyler tossed her another one instead.

Curious, she swept it with her spiritual sense. The next second, her eyes widened in disbelief. It was the storage bag filled with Spirit stones.

"Good morning, Tyler."

At lobby , Jack Nelson looked at Tyler with a teasing smile as he sat down.

"Looks like you had quite a pleasant night."

Tyler simply laughed it off without explaining. The group enjoyed breakfast while chatting casually about business, cultivation, and the events taking place in Schez Town.

After taking a sip of tea, Jack suddenly asked, "Since you’re a Formation Master, I assume you’re planning to participate in the Formation Competition today?"

Tyler shook his head.

"No. I’m joining a different event."

"Oh?"

Tyler took out his skeleton mask and slowly put it on.

"I have one small request. Whatever happens today, please don’t reveal my identity."

Jack looked puzzled.

"Why all the secrecy?"

Tyler shrugged.

"I’m still too weak. I don’t even have Foundation Realm guards protecting me yet."

Jack couldn’t understand what strength had to do with hiding his identity, but he didn’t ask further.

"I understand. My lips are sealed."

Soon, everyone headed toward the Rookie Cultivators’ Assembly.

The event was held on a vast plateau near the summit of the mountain. A massive pavilion-like tent covered the entire venue, while countless Qi Refining Realm cultivators wandered between rows of stalls. Some traded herbs, others sold talismans, weapons, or spirit beasts, and the aroma of roasted spiritual meat drifted through the lively crowd.

"It feels more like a festival than a competition," Maximus said, looking around excitedly.

Jack Nelson smiled.

"It is a festival. Years ago, Schez Town was founded by a group of Qi Refining Realm cultivators who worked together to build this mountain settlement. They agreed to reunite here once every year. As more cultivators heard about the gathering, merchants and sect disciples joined as well. Eventually, it grew into what everyone now calls the Rookie Cultivators’ Assembly. Interestingly, none of those original founders have appeared for many years."

The group soon arrived at the registration area.

Tyler stepped forward, filled out the registration form, and wrote his affiliation.

Dark Forest Society.

Under participant name, he simply wrote:

White Aspirants.

The others also covered their faces before entering.

Jack watched curiously.

"You’re all wearing masks now?"

Tyler chuckled.

"Better to keep a low profile."

After finishing the registration, the disciple in charge glanced at the form, then looked up at Tyler and asked, "Are you the only one participating?"

Tyler nodded.

Jack leaned over to see which event Tyler had chosen.

The smile on his face froze and couldn’t help but admire Tyler even more.

Beside him, Maximus, Lee, Louch, Shyla, and even Shyla’s skeleton all stared at the registration board with widened eyes with confusion and suprise.

The event Tyler had signed up for was...

The Pill Dao Convention.

In short, it means Pill Refining Competition.
