Chapter 626: Chapter 596: This Child Must Be Eliminated, Or There Will Be Endless Troubles! (4)
「Meanwhile, in the forbidden grounds of Beijing.」
Hua Xiaotian, who had been summoned by the authorities, intentionally delayed his arrival by several hours.
"Master Hua, you’ve become increasingly hard to get ahold of," an elder remarked ambiguously as Hua Xiaotian pushed open the door to the meeting room, his expression stern.
"It’s not that I’m difficult to summon. I already know what you all want to say and do," Hua Xiaotian replied coldly. "Therefore, I saw no need to hurry. Your idea is a fatal misstep, one that will lead to your own destruction!"
"Hua Xiaotian, what are you saying?" another elder from the Forbidden retorted grimly. "You should know that you belong to the Guardian Institute! Your duty is to protect the peace and balance of this Royal Territory. How can you boost another’s morale at the expense of our own?"
"If this is about dealing with Qin Fan, then I apologize, but I am resigning from the Guardian Institute. Do as you please!" Hua Xiaotian declared forcefully, his usual calm and taciturn demeanor gone as he shot the man a piercing glare. "I am willing to die, but not to throw my life away, and certainly not at the hands of Qin Fan!"
Before the elder could retort, Hua Xiaotian turned to Wang Anshi. "Elder Wang, is this your opinion as well?"
"Master Hua, calm down. There’s no need to get worked up," Wang Anshi said with a chuckle, shaking his head and gesturing with his hands in a placating manner.
He was well aware that Hua Xiaotian was no match for Qin Fan. If Hua Xiaotian had possessed the ability to sanction him, the Qiao Family tragedy would never have happened in the first place.
"Then why was I summoned? If I recall correctly, the last time was three years ago," Hua Xiaotian pressed, his expression still tense despite Elder Wang’s denial. While the Guardian Institute was subordinate to the forbidden grounds of Beijing, he, as the Guardian Institute Director, still had a voice in matters.
"I want to understand the true extent of Qin Fan’s strength," Wang Anshi said, his smile vanishing as his expression turned serious. "You accompanied him to Japan, so you have the most authority to speak on this. And I’m not talking about how many people he killed. I want the most direct possible description of his power!"
The most direct description?
At this, a flicker of sheer terror crossed Hua Xiaotian’s face. Wang Anshi, who caught the change in his expression, felt a sudden chill run down his spine.
The daze did not last long. The corner of Hua Xiaotian’s mouth trembled as he spoke. "He’s bulletproof and can instantly reflect attacks back at their source. Thousands of Japanese soldiers and police officers died from those reflected attacks in the blink of an eye. He can kill Divine Ninjas in an instant, crush Divine-Level Onmyoji, and his Divine Skills are simply unfathomable. A single Thunder Spell flattened Mount Fuji. A handful of pebbles destroyed fighter jets. He flew me from the seas of Japan back to Huaxia in less than an hour! That is my most direct description, but I suspect it’s not the full extent of Master Qin’s power. For someone at his level, holding back is only natural."
WHOOSH!
As they listened to this description, the entire office was plunged into a dead, oppressive silence. Even with their profound knowledge of the Martial Arts World, these elders found themselves unable to fathom the heaven-defying existence Hua Xiaotian described.
Being bulletproof can be explained. Killing Divine Ninjas and Divine-Level Onmyoji is acceptable. Obliterating fighter jets with pebbles is barely conceivable. But leveling Mount Fuji with a single Thunder Spell? Crossing thousands of nautical miles in under an hour? And that’s not even his full strength! Damn it, what kind of heaven-defying monster is he?!
Seeing the dumbfounded, shocked expressions on their faces, Hua Xiaotian couldn’t help but shake his head with a scornful inner smile.
He understood their apprehension—the fear of nurturing a tiger only for it to turn on its master. But the current Qin Fan was far beyond anyone’s ability to sanction. When facing such a monstrous existence, they should be thinking about how to maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with him, not how to remove him like a thorn in their side. While removing the thorn might seem like the best path to stability, was it even possible? Even if they succeeded, who would bear the cost? Who *could* bear it? With a mere flick of his wrist, he had turned Japan into a land of death and wandering souls. What would happen if they truly tore away all pretenses and backed Qin Fan into a corner? Hua Xiaotian was unwilling to imagine it. He couldn’t imagine it. He *dared* not imagine it.
After a moment, Wang Anshi finally spoke. "So, what is his Martial Arts Cultivation?"
"I don’t know," Hua Xiaotian stated bluntly. "I cannot perceive a realm that high, so I can’t discern it."
"This is troublesome," Wang Anshi muttered, his brow furrowed with worry as a tremor ran through him.
"As of now, I don’t believe anyone in this era can contend with him. His power is a mystery, and I am likely one of the few who has seen even the tip of the iceberg," Hua Xiaotian said solemnly, his tone both a reminder and a warning. "So, unless it is absolutely unavoidable, you must never provoke him. The consequences would be unimaginable."
"What if the old guard of the Guardian Institute acted? If Elder Qilian and the others joined forces, could they root him out?" Still unwilling to accept a world thrown into chaos by Qin Fan, Wang Anshi voiced the thoughts he had been harboring.
So that was it. They really were planning to sanction Qin Fan.
At that moment, Hua Xiaotian’s expression became incredibly grim. It wasn’t because of any friendship or acquaintance with Qin Fan, but because of what he knew would come next. Wang Anshi’s tone made it clear: they were dead set on eliminating Qin Fan.
Was it really worth it, all because of the Bo Family’s instigation? To be fair, if it weren’t for Bao Qiudong courting his own death, would any of this have even happened? Qin Fan was undeniably crazy, excessive, and lawless, but had things truly escalated to the point where he absolutely had to be eliminated?
"Elder Wang, may I ask what forced you to make such a decision?" Hua Xiaotian asked, reigning in his emotions.
"He has already begun to show signs of wanton defiance and contempt for the law and authority!" Wang Anshi delivered his words gravely, a fanatical light flickering in his eyes. "We can tolerate his arrogance and his recklessness, but there is one prerequisite: he must not cross the line! Regarding the Bo Family affair, I spoke with him by phone and tacitly gave my consent. But what did he do? He publicly entered the mansion, threw Bao Qiudong from the ninth floor in front of everyone in the Jinling Mansion, and then threatened them all, declaring that anyone who dared to cross him—Qin Fan—would die! We could have turned a blind eye, but his blatant lawlessness has forced us into opposition. We cannot disappoint the people! This is not his world alone, and its order is not something he can alter or shatter on a whim. Right now, people across all of Huaxia—not just in Jinling, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang—are watching to see how we respond. Therefore, this is a step we must take! Even if the cost is great, it is nothing more than a necessary pain."
"So, what is your plan?" Hua Xiaotian couldn’t stop himself from asking, even though he had already guessed the answer.
He didn’t want that outcome. He didn’t want it at all. He knew just how terrifying Qin Fan was; he had witnessed that terror firsthand.
But that was the point. The people in this room didn’t understand, and it seemed his master, Qilian Demi Immortal, didn’t understand either.
Wang Anshi did not answer immediately. Half a minute ticked by before his face twitched, and he gritted out each word.
"If that boy is not eliminated, he will become a threat without end."
