Chapter 625: Chapter 595: Choices for the Chang Family! (3)
There was no passionate, ambiguous morning encounter. In response to Jiang Yino’s words, Qin Fan just smiled and swept her up into his arms, carrying her toward the bathroom.
After some playful intimacy while getting ready, Qin Fan was chased out. Yino needed to change, and despite his many tricks, he couldn’t manage to steal a peek.
Once they were ready, they walked out of the suite with their fingers interlocked. Jiang Yino suddenly spoke up, "Qin Fan, what arrangements did you make for Ruanqin and Mingsi?"
As she said this, a look of deep guilt crossed her face. If it weren’t for her, the two of them would never have been dragged into this. The thought of them being caught in this situation because of her filled Jiang Yino with self-reproach. The only reason she hadn’t asked him the moment she woke up last night was that, while drifting in and out of consciousness at the cinema, she had vaguely heard Qin Fan giving instructions to Chang Yuanyi. Beyond that, she held a firm belief that Qin Fan would never abandon the two girls.
"I had Chang Yuanyi handle it! I’ll call him right now!" With that, Qin Fan pulled out his phone and dialed Young Master Chang.
"Chang, where are Yino’s two classmates?" Qin Fan asked bluntly the moment the call connected, not even giving Chang Yuanyi a chance to speak.
"Master Qin, those two ladies raised a fuss all night and have only just fallen asleep!" Chang Yuanyi’s miserable voice came from the other end of the line.
"What happened?" Qin Fan frowned.
"Last night, I got them a hotel room to sleep in. To make sure nothing happened, I stood guard in the suite’s living room. But in the middle of the night, they started having nightmares! I went in to check on them when they woke up screaming, but they thought I was a bad guy! They kept making a scene and only just now fell asleep. They attracted hotel security, and then even the police! It took everything I had to finally calm those two down, and now they’re asleep again! Master Qin, where are you now?" Chang Yuanyi complained, feeling deeply wronged after spending the entire night dealing with them.
Young Master Chang, who was always served by women, had never experienced anything like it. A single night of this chaos had almost instilled in him a fear of women.
"Where are they?" Qin Fan asked, hearing Jiang Yino’s soft whisper next to him.
"The Eastern Hotel! A suite on the 18th floor! Master Qin, are you coming over? They’ve already kicked me out; I’m still guarding the door!" Chang Yuanyi said in a rush.
"Alright, Yino and I are on our way!"
Qin Fan hung up and turned to Jiang Yino. "They’re in a suite at the Eastern Hotel. Chang Yuanyi is standing guard outside while they sleep inside. Do you want to go?"
"Yes! I have to be with them!" Jiang Yino exclaimed without a second thought.
"Okay, let’s go together!"
He took her hand, and they left the hotel, hailing a taxi that was already waiting for a fare. After giving the address, the two sped off toward the Eastern Hotel.
「Outside the Eastern Hotel’s 18th-floor suite.」
Young Master Chang, now immune to the strange looks from the hotel staff, glanced around anxiously, waiting for Qin Fan to arrive and relieve him. It wasn’t just a matter of being tired; the entire mess in Jinling meant there were far too many things he needed to handle.
He waited for nearly half an hour before Qin Fan and Jiang Yino finally appeared. As if seeing his saviors, Chang Yuanyi hurried to greet them, bowing respectfully. "Master Qin, Miss Jiang!"
"Young Master Chang, are they in there?" Jiang Yino asked first.
"Yes, Miss Jiang, but the door is locked from the inside. We can’t get in!" Chang Yuanyi said with a wry smile.
"Can we get someone from the hotel to help? I want to go in, but we lost our phones, so I can’t call them!" Jiang Yino said.
"It won’t work. The door is deadbolted. The staff can’t open it without breaking it down," Chang Yuanyi said, shaking his head. As he finished speaking, however, he glanced at Qin Fan. Although the hotel staff couldn’t open the door, Chang Yuanyi, having witnessed Qin Fan’s freakish strength, seemed to believe he would have a way.
"Yino, let me handle this," Qin Fan said.
At Jiang Yino’s nod, he walked to the door. Using his True Qi, he vibrated the internal deadbolt mechanism, disengaging it. Then, with a simple twist of the handle, the door opened.
"Qin Fan, you can go. I’ll just wait here for them to wake up," Jiang Yino said quickly, not even questioning how he possessed such abilities.
After a brief pause, Qin Fan took her hand and infused a stream of True Yuan into her body, creating a telepathic beacon. "Alright. If anything happens, just call my name. No matter where I am, I’ll hear you."
Not giving it much thought, Jiang Yino nodded, then quickly pushed the door open and went inside, locking it again and shutting Qin Fan and Chang Yuanyi out.
Sensing Chang Yuanyi’s hesitant, conflicted look, Qin Fan turned. "If you have something to say, let’s talk outside."
With that, he started walking.
Chang Yuanyi followed silently behind. It wasn’t until they had stepped out of the Eastern Hotel that he finally spoke, his voice trembling slightly. "Master Qin, Jinling is in chaos! The entire faction aligned with the Bo Family is on edge, but the higher-ups haven’t made any statement yet. What should we do?"
"It’s not what *we* should do, it’s what *you* should do. Whether Jinling is in chaos or not has nothing to do with me. Your Chang Family, on the other hand, should use this opportunity to consolidate what you can and eliminate what you must. It would save me some trouble in the process," Qin Fan said indifferently, stopping outside the hotel to look up at the sky, which had cleared after the snowfall.
"But... wouldn’t that be too sensitive at this juncture?" Chang Yuanyi exclaimed.
"Whether it’s sensitive or not doesn’t matter anymore. If I’m not mistaken, the whole world has already tied your Chang Family to me. So talk of sensitivity or permission is meaningless now. It all just depends on how you choose," Qin Fan stated.
His words also offered the Chang Family a choice. They could choose to stay on his ship and wait for an opportunity, or they could scramble to sever all ties. No matter what the Chang Family chose, he didn’t care. Both options were perfectly human responses. The only difference was that if the Chang Family chose the latter, their relationship would end then and there.
"This—!" Chang Yuanyi was struck speechless, a look of grave conflict on his face.
The Chang Family was the Chang Family; it didn’t belong to him alone. His father and grandfather were still above him. The choice was not his to make. His upbringing in the compounds of the elite gave him the astuteness to understand Qin Fan’s unspoken words. But at this critical moment, he could not speak for his family.
Seeing Chang Yuanyi’s agonized hesitation, Qin Fan offered a slow, noncommittal smile. "No rush. Think it over. No matter what, my promise to make you my agent south of the Yangtze River still stands. That’s a matter of the friendship between us."
With that, he patted Chang Yuanyi’s shoulder and strode away.
"Master Qin, let me see you out!" Chang Yuanyi called out urgently from behind.
"No need!"
Qin Fan raised a hand in refusal. Spotting an approaching taxi, he casually pulled the door open and got in.
