Chapter 255: The Solaria Kingdom
The Kingdom of Solaria stood proudly upon the western reaches of the central continent, a shining beacon of civilization amidst a world where myths breathed, and legends walked among mortals. It was one of the Six Great Kingdoms of Terra-Mythos, each ruled by a dominant race and possessing histories older than most nations could comprehend.
To the east lay El’goroth, the kingdom of the elves, where ancient forests stretched beyond the horizon and trees older than kingdoms pierced the heavens. Far to the south rested Aquaria, the realm of the merfolk beneath endless oceans and crystal waters. To the southwest burned Inferna Dike, homeland of demons and volcanic mountains. To the northeast stood Northern Ferocia, where beastmen tribes and clans ruled harsh lands through strength and instinct. High above the clouds floated Caeluminis, the divine kingdom of angels. And among these powerful nations stood Solaria, the Kingdom of Humans.
Many outsiders often underestimate humanity. The elves possessed ancient wisdom, the angels possessed divine heritage, the demons wielded terrifying bloodlines, the beastmen possessed monstrous physiques, and the merfolk commanded the seas themselves. Humans possessed none of these advantages, yet humanity had risen to become one of the world’s dominant powers.
Why?
Because humans adapted, they learned, and they evolved. They borrowed knowledge from every race and turned it into something uniquely their own. That adaptability had shaped Solaria into a kingdom unlike any other.
Unlike the other great kingdoms, Solaria did not isolate itself from outsiders. Its borders remained open to all races, provided they obeyed the laws of the kingdom and met the requirements set by the crown. It was not uncommon to find elves studying in human academies, beastmen serving as adventurers, merfolk merchants conducting trade, or even demons walking openly through city streets. This openness transformed Solaria into one of the wealthiest and most influential nations in existence.
Trade routes from every kingdom eventually passed through its lands. Knowledge flowed freely, wealth accumulated endlessly, and the kingdom’s influence spread far beyond its borders.
Geographically, Solaria was blessed. Its northern territories bordered vast mountain ranges whose snow-capped peaks could be seen from hundreds of kilometers away. Its eastern lands were connected to rich forests and fertile valleys. The western coastline opened into major trade routes across the seas, while the southern regions maintained close relations with merchants and travelers from distant lands. Many scholars described Solaria as the crossroads of Terra-Mythos.
At the heart of the kingdom stood Aurora, the Capital City, also known as the City of Light. The Jewel of Humanity.
Its gleaming white walls and golden towers could be seen long before one reached its gates. Massive roads spread outward from the city like veins from a beating heart, connecting every corner of the kingdom. At the center of Aurora stood the Royal Castle, the home of the Gandhal Royal Family.
The Gandhals had ruled Solaria since its foundation and remained one of the oldest and most respected bloodlines among humanity. Their authority united the kingdom, and even the most powerful nobles deferred to the crown. Though the royal family stood above all others, four great noble families helped uphold the kingdom’s strength.
Unlike many royal bloodlines that ruled through fear, the Gandhals maintained power through a balance of strength, diplomacy, and legitimacy.
To the northwest stood Armstrong, known throughout the continent as the Fortress City. Massive walls protected the city, and generations of soldiers, commanders, and military strategists emerged from the Armstrong Family. Many of Solaria’s greatest generals had been born within its walls. If Aurora was the heart of the kingdom, Armstrong was its shield.
To the southwest stood Obosu, the City of Harmony. Wealth flowed endlessly through its markets, while information flowed through its streets faster than the wind. The Obosu Family controlled vast networks of merchants, diplomats, and informants. Music, culture, commerce, and politics flourished there. Some joked that if a secret existed anywhere in Solaria, the Obosu Family already knew it.
To the east stood Adam, the City of Knowledge. Towering libraries, magical academies, research institutes, and workshops dominated the cityscape. The Adam Family dedicated themselves to learning and innovation, producing some of the greatest scholars, inventors, alchemists, and formation masters in the kingdom’s history.
And to the south stood Throst, the Iron City. Rich mineral deposits and mountain resources made it the industrial backbone of Solaria. The Throst Family controlled mines, foundries, and weapon forges capable of supplying armies. Many of the finest weapons carried by Solarian warriors originated from Throst’s legendary blacksmiths.
Together, Aurora, Armstrong, Obosu, Adam, and Throst formed the Five Great Cities of Solaria; Five pillars supporting a single kingdom, five noble families serving beneath one crown. Five centers of power whose influence shaped the lives of millions. Yet even with all its prosperity, Solaria remained a kingdom of ambition. Every year, countless adventurers set out seeking glory, academy students traveled across continents in pursuit of strength, merchants sought fortune, scholars sought knowledge, warriors sought power, heroes sought legends, and even villains sought opportunities.
For this was Terra-Mythos, a world where myths were reality. This was a world where dragons still soared through the skies, a world where ancient beasts slumbered beneath mountains. Terra-Mythos was a world where gods once walked openly among mortals, and still do. A world where kingdoms rose and fell beneath the weight of history, and among those kingdoms, none embodied possibility more than Solaria, the Kingdom of Humanity.
This was a kingdom where anyone, regardless of birth, race, or origin, could carve their name into history and become a legend.
And this was where a legend would start and go out to the whole world.
...
In a dark room, a beautiful woman sat having coffee while a body lay beneath her. Her legs were on the body, the heels of her boots pressing into the body. Blood pooled under the body, and from the clothes of whoever it was, it was clear that the person was of a rich background.
"The Obosus have started moving. Things are getting interesting..." she said in a sweet voice, her red eyes glinting softly.
...
