Chapter 254: Elder Hakar... is the Pharaoh
Bahamut and his team had been teleported back to the Obsidian Citadel just in time to witness the godly phenomenon that was taking place. Elder Silvia was the one who teleported them. Derek was encased in a cocoon of water with his hands and legs bound by psychic chains. He was still conscious, but couldn’t do anything.
They witnessed how all power seemed to be non-existent under the floating man’s presence. This was true godhood or close.
"You dug where you should not have dug."
They heard the man say to the kneeling elder, Caron, causing him to shiver from fear and the pressure upon him. Upon closer look, Bahamut with his sharp eyes noticed something... peculiar. His blindfold had been destroyed in his battle with Derek, but he still had his eagle eyes trait activated.
"Why does he look like a younger version of Elder Hakar?" He pointed out in suspicion. Elder Silvia, who was beside him, chuckled faintly, making everyone look at her in confusion. She ignored their stares and sent the cocooned Derek towards the 28-year-old looking Elder Hakar lookalike.
"Is he related to Elder Hakar in any way?" Sel asked, his curiosity getting the best of him.
"Who exactly is that man? He is so powerful," Ren asked.
"He is the pharaoh."
Elder Silvia’s answer made them recoil in fear and awe. Sylvia’s eyes shook under her veil as she couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Unlike the others, she recognized the man because he was the one who had received her when she appeared in the sect. He was the man who had given the elders the mission to recruit her, the one the elders referred to as the Pharaoh’s representative. He was the Elder Hakar she remembered from the past. And, he was the same man who had personally gone to recruit Ren. If what Elder Silvia was saying was the truth, then...
"Elder Hakar... is the Pharaoh," she exclaimed in shock. As if affirming that what she said was true, the man spoke.
"Members of this great sect, greetings. I come bearing grave news of heretic crimes committed against the sect. The perpetrators of these crimes will be dealt with appropriately, and the victims of these crimes will be appeased.
Derek Elsixa and Caron Hedin are hereby sentenced to torturous death under the grave crimes of using living beings as catalysts for increasing their cultivation tiers. Such a cultivation method is frowned upon by the world and recorded officially under the Records of Forbidden Techniques."
The man’s voice travelled far and loud, and even those in other parts of the sect, apart from the Obsidian Citadel, heard him. The more he spoke, the more people’s expressions twisted from shock, to fear, and then anger and disgust.
"Apart from this, most of their victims have been silenced coldly when they tried escaping. Unknown whether it was arrogance or foolishness, they kept records of all their crimes. One of the victims is a boy I personally recruited into the sect, Ren Sekhem, my grandson."
Ren, Bahamut, and Silvia’s eyes widened in shock and disbelief. Ren couldn’t even muster the ability to speak. He had been rendered speechless. Just how?! He couldn’t even start to understand what was happening when Bahamut suddenly whispered.
"The Chief Elder is called Sekhem..."
"The Chief Elder is the younger brother of the Pharaoh," Elder Silvia said from the side, thinking they were asking her a question, but her answer helped them anyway.
But they weren’t the only ones who were shocked. Derek and Caron were now trembling in shock and fear. Just what was going on here? How were they supposed to know that the blind kid was related to... Wait! Who is this person?!
As if answering their question, the man continued.
"I stand on my power as a Divine Champion and my authority as the sect master, the Pharaoh of the Shadow Fang Sect, and sentence these two heretics to torturous death. They will experience everything their victims experienced under their hands before they finally die. They will live the lives of their victims, the torture, the pain, everything.
As for the families of the dead victims, they will be compensated. I know they are aware that death in the sect is a common thing, but such a dishonorable death isn’t acceptable in the sect.
Derek and Caron are hereby stripped of all titles and power as elders of the Shadow Fang Sect. Their disciple order is therefore unofficial and null.
Lastly, a reward would be given to the person who made it possible to get our hands on these criminals, Bahamut. You will be rewarded greatly for your contribution to the sect."
The Pharaoh, Hakar, said with a slight bow in Bahamut’s position, making everyone turn to look at him. His golden eyes stayed a while longer on Ren in his bunny form on Silvia’s shoulder, while he released a small, knowing smile, making Ren’s shock increase.
’He knows!’ He couldn’t help but exclaim in his mind. As for the others who were watching this, their faces were filled with shock when he proclaimed his identity as the known yet unknown Pharaoh of the sect, especially Derek, Caron, and some of the elders.
Not all the elders knew of the Pharaoh’s real identity. The older members like Tankhut, Anutach, Silvia, Baset, and Iset knew who the sect master was, but the newer ones didn’t know. The reason was that they weren’t powerful enough in their authority to see him, so their shock was understandable.
The disciples were even more shocked by the revelation. Most had already figured out the man’s identity as Elder Hakar. They couldn’t believe that they’d been seeing the Pharaoh almost every single day. He was hiding in plain sight!
"As for my grandson, I’m happy to say, he isn’t dead. He is very much alive thanks to someone. But others were unfortunate and died because of these two power-obsessive idiots. The judgment is final. They will die a torturous death."
The Pharaoh stated, making Bahamut, Ren, and Silvia look at each other. The others had also noticed the strange actions of the trio and immediately caught on, especially Elder Silvia. It was her turn to be shocked. Ren was the bunny all along.
"No wonder he has the Chaos element..." she muttered in realization. That was the same element Hakar and Set, the chief elder, used. Everything was there, all facts on the table, but no one could see them.
"And you two... Don’t ever think your families or clans can save you. If they try, they will be erased," Hakar declared in a cold voice, making people unconsciously shiver. It was only then that they realized that he was very, very angry. And when a Tier 5 being was angry, nothing ever ended well for his opponents.
