Chapter 249: Elder Silvia Appears. A Tier 4?
Bahamut’s instincts screamed at him to run, but there was nowhere to run. This was a Zone Creation. Inside this place, Derek was god. Then something changed. A strange silence fell while the violent winds paused and the golden feathers stopped midair. Derek frowned slightly.
"What?" A blue glow appeared high above the district.
FWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!!!
A gigantic astral projection descended from the heavens. It was a butterfly wing, massive beyond comprehension. It stretched across the sky like a celestial curtain, shimmering with endless blue and violet patterns. The mere appearance of the wing caused the air itself to distort beautifully. It flapped once, and everything disappeared. Derek’s Heavenstorm Sanctuary shattered instantly like fragile glass.
KRRRRSHHHHH!!!
The entire zone collapsed violently while residual elements were erased completely as though they had never existed. Derek’s pupils shrank in shock. That was impossible. A Zone Creation couldn’t simply be deleted unless...
Everyone slowly looked upward and froze. The sky was gone. In its place was an insanely huge butterfly hovering above the district. No, it was not a real butterfly, but an astral manifestation. It was a creature so colossal its wings seemed capable of covering the heavens themselves. Its body glowed deep blue. Its eyes were darker blue than the sea. And on its forehead, a single violet eye gazed down upon the world. The mere sight of it made weaker cultivators collapse unconscious instantly. Bahamut stared in stunned silence and saw her floating before the astral butterfly calmly. Her long, blue hair danced in the air softly, her butterfly wings spread elegantly behind her, while her robes fluttered gently despite the now motionless air. Elder Silvia, but this time, she no longer looked nonchalant. She looked untouchable, like a true monster wearing human skin.
Her blue eyes stared directly at Derek, cold, sharp, and utterly disappointed. Derek unconsciously stepped backward.
"S-Silvia..."
The moment he spoke her name, the violet eye on the butterfly opened wider.
BOOOOOOOM!!!
Derek coughed blood instantly as an invisible pressure slammed into him from above. His knees nearly buckled. Fear flooded his face for the first time since the battle began. Elder Silvia slowly descended, each step she took in the air, glowing butterfly particles to spread outward gently.
The district remained silent as no one dared breathe.
"It’s over." She spoke.
Elder Derek suddenly burst into laughter full of madness.
"HahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
The sound echoed across the ruined Oasis District while blood dripped from the corner of his lips. His golden eyes had become bloodshot now, veins spreading across his face from pressure and rage. He pointed shakily toward Elder Silvia.
"You think you’ve won?!"
The winds around him spiraled wildly again despite his shattered zone. Light exploded uncontrollably from his body, destroying nearby structures accidentally.
"You arrogant bitch..." His smile twisted unnaturally. "Just because you became Tier 4, you think you’re untouchable?!"
The atmosphere became colder instantly. Bahamut frowned. Tier 4. So Elder Silvia was truly above the Demigod Realm. No wonder she erased Derek’s Zone Creation effortlessly. Derek continued laughing hysterically.
"You’re delusional!"
He slammed his hand into his storage ring violently.
FLASH!
A crimson pendant appeared in his palm. The instant it appeared, everyone felt danger. The pendant looked organic, like crystallized flesh. Black veins pulsed across its surface while crimson light leaked from cracks within it, and the aura... it felt cursed.
Silvia’s eyes narrowed instantly.
"Derek." Her voice carried genuine warning now. "Don’t." But Derek only laughed harder.
"Since it’s come to this..." He crushed the pendant. "Then I’ll go out with a bang and take you with me!"
BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The pendant exploded into a sea of crimson darkness, and the sky darkened instantly. People throughout the Oasis District screamed in terror as the malicious aura spread outward like a plague. Buildings blackened, and the sand under them began rotting into tar-like sludge. The cursed energy poured directly into Derek.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!"
His body began mutating violently as his bones cracked and his veins blackened. Golden light mixed with crimson corruption. Wings of malformed light burst from his back while hurricane winds spiraled around him uncontrollably. The pressure skyrocketed.
That thing, whatever Derek had unleashed, was dangerous enough to threaten even Silvia. Silvia reacted instantly as her eyes turned violet and glowed. Space folded as Bahamut suddenly felt reality twist around him. Before he could react, the world disappeared.
BOOOOOOM!
Bahamut and the others appeared several kilometers away atop a distant rooftop overlooking the district.
Exildra stumbled slightly.
"What just-"
"Teleportation," Sel answered immediately, stunned. Even the Black Fang Prodigy looked shocked beneath her veil.
"To teleport this many people simultaneously over such distance..."
Ren whistled softly.
"She’s terrifying."
Meanwhile... The Oasis District exploded. A colossal pillar of crimson and gold erupted into the heavens as the cursed Derek roared. His voice no longer sounded human. The corruption had overtaken him completely. His body expanded grotesquely while storms of cursed wind destroyed everything nearby. Before him, Silvia floated calmly.
The gigantic astral butterfly behind her moved, its enormous wings spreading wider. The world dimmed. Everyone watching felt their hearts stop briefly. The butterfly fully revealed itself, not merely an astral projection, but as an Avatar. The manifestation of a Tier 4 being. The butterfly’s wings stretched across the sky endlessly, covered in glowing runic patterns resembling galaxies.
The violet eye on its forehead opened fully, and the moment it did, time seemed to slow. Derek’s roar faltered as fear appeared in his monstrous face.
Silvia raised one hand slowly.
"Dreamveil Avatar."
Her voice echoed across the heavens, and the butterfly moved.
FWOOOOOOOOOOOSH!!!
Blue particles filled the sky, and the cursed storms vanished instantly upon contact. Derek screamed as his corrupted light shattered apart, and the cursed energy disintegrated layer by layer.
"No- NO! WAIT!"
The butterfly’s wings moved again, and the world folded. Psychic domination. Everything hit Derek simultaneously. His attacks dissolved before manifesting, his thoughts slowed, and his senses fractured. The difference between Tier 3 and Tier 4 became truly visible.
It wasn’t a fight; it was absolute suppression. Derek desperately roared and fired countless blades of light and storms upward, but the butterfly ignored all of them. Its violet eye glowed softly. Derek’s wings broke apart. The curse consuming him collapsed violently.
Silvia appeared directly before him, and Derek’s pupils shrank. She was too fast. She looked directly into his eyes with no rage or hate, only disappointment.
"You could have remained an elder." Derek trembled violently. "But you chose obsession."
Her hand touched his forehead gently. The butterfly behind her flapped once more.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
A psychic shockwave erupted across the district. Derek’s body froze instantly as his eyes rolled backward. The curse energy was forcibly ripped from his body and erased by the butterfly’s violet eye. He fell from the sky, defeated, and his body slammed into the ruined street below. Shock remained frozen on his face, as if even at the end, he still couldn’t comprehend how badly he had lost.
Silvia descended slowly afterward. The astral butterfly faded behind her gradually, turning into countless glowing blue particles that vanished into the sky. Silence filled the district. Silvia stared at Derek’s unconscious body briefly and spoke coldly.
"Seal him."
Several shadows immediately appeared around the district: Sect enforcers. They moved instantly to bind Derek with glowing chains designed for Tier 3 beings. Silvia turned away afterward.
"He will answer for every crime."
Her voice was calm now, but everyone present understood something terrifying. If she had wanted, Derek would have died in less than a minute.
