Chapter 213: Absolute Power
The battlefield stood on the edge of collapse. The horde stretched endlessly across the desert like a living nightmare, while the pressure from the two beasts suffocated everyone present.
Hakim stepped forward. The elderly man’s robes fluttered violently in the heated winds as his aura erupted outward.
BOOOOOOM!
The walls trembled, the ground shook, and instantly every warrior of Senkeht straightened instinctively, because their chief had finally moved. Hakim’s sharp eyes swept across the battlefield once as he spoke.
"WARRIORS OF SENKEHT!" His voice thundered across the entire town. "You know your duty!"
The fear in countless eyes slowly hardened. Their weapons tightened in their hands as their breathing steadied. Hakim raised his hand toward the horizon.
"CHARGE!"
ROOOOOOOOOOOAR!!!
The warriors exploded into motion instantly. The gates of Senkeht opened. Earth elementalists surged forward first, slamming their weapons into the ground and raising walls, spikes, and barriers across the battlefield to slow the advancing horde. Behind them came the spear units, then the swordsmen.
Then came the fire and wind elementalists. The entire army moved with terrifying synchronization.
At the same moment, Risa stepped forward atop the walls. The woman closed her eyes softly as green light erupted from her body. The desert shook as glowing vines burst upward from cracks in the ground, spreading across the battlefield like living rivers. Flowers bloomed instantly amidst the blood and the sand. A warm energy washed over Senkeht’s warriors.
Injuries closed, cuts vanished, and broken bones mended. Fatigue disappeared almost instantly. Even exhausted elemental cores reignited with renewed energy. Gasps spread everywhere. Warriors who moments ago could barely stand suddenly felt strength return to their limbs. Risa opened her glowing green eyes calmly.
"Fight."
The warriors roared in response.
Meanwhile, Hakim and Forta exchanged a single glance. No words were needed as they both vanished simultaneously.
BOOOOOOM!
The air exploded apart as the two Tier 3 Demigods launched directly toward the horned dragon-wolf beast. The creature grinned wider and disappeared, too.
CRAAAAAAASH!!!
Their collision shattered the sky itself. Shockwaves tore across the battlefield while space distorted violently from the sheer force of three Tier 3 beings clashing head-on.
...
The horde attacked, and this time it was overwhelming. The beasts slammed into Senkeht’s defenses like a tidal wave. The earth shook endlessly. Warriors screamed battle cries while elemental attacks exploded across the battlefield nonstop. Firestorms, stone spears, wind blades, blood, sand, and death. Everything was mixed into pure chaos.
KRAAAAAAAAAASH!!!
A section of the damaged wall finally broke apart completely. Massive beasts immediately surged through the opening. The warriors nearby turned pale.
"We can’t hold them!"
"They breached the wall!"
A gigantic desert beast lunged forward first, only to stop abruptly because something stood before it. Something enormous. It was a gigantic dark cow. Its body pulsed with monstrous strength while writhing shadows slithered around it like living serpents. Its glowing purple eyes radiated fury. It was Alana.
The charging beasts hesitated instinctively. Alana snorted. Dark mist erupted from her nostrils, and she charged.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The first beast exploded apart instantly upon collision. Another was crushed beneath her horns. A third was swallowed by writhing shadows that tore into flesh like hungry mouths. The breach became a slaughter zone instantly.
...
Then the Solar Wyrm moved. The colossal creature lunged toward the broken wall, its gigantic jaws glowing with condensed solar energy. Heat surged across the battlefield. The attack would wipe out half the town instantly if it was allowed.
CRACK.
Space distorted. The Solar Wyrm’s movement halted slightly, and Ren appeared directly in front of it. The small bunny stared upward at the gigantic serpent fearlessly.
"Yeah, no."
The wyrm roared furiously. Ren cracked his knuckles.
"You’re mine."
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!! The Solar Wyrm attacked, and Ren met it head-on.
The resulting shockwave flattened dunes for hundreds of meters.
Meanwhile, atop the walls, Sel calmly took hold of a bow and nocked an arrow. His silver hair fluttered in the heated winds while his blue eyes glowed faintly. He pulled the string back as space warped subtly around the arrow and released it.
FWOOOSH!
The arrow vanished entirely. A second later, a hawk high in the sky exploded apart, followed by another, and another. Sel moved smoothly and efficiently, firing arrows faster than most could track. Every shot killed. His shots were all precise.
The archers around him stared in disbelief.
"What kind of monster sect did these people come from?"
...
Lily smiled brightly as flames erupted around her body. Her fox ears twitched in excitement as her two tails swayed behind her. Her claws extended, and with a grin, she jumped off the wall.
BOOOOOOOM!
She landed amidst a group of wolves. Fire exploded violently outward, and the beasts burned alive instantly.
Gabi sighed tiredly. Living just a few days with them had somehow changed Gabi a bit. He was still the clumsy and meek boy, but now...
"I hate being surrounded by lunatics," But he jumped down after her anyway. Green poison spread around his claws immediately.
Only Bahamut and Exildra remained atop the wall. The battlefield below had descended into complete madness. Tier 3 clashes shattered the skies; the Solar Wyrm battled Ren, the horde surged endlessly, and the town burned in sections.
And yet, Bahamut looked strangely calm. He turned toward Exildra and gently kissed her cheek.
"Stay alive."
Before she could answer, he jumped.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The wall shattered beneath the force of his leap. He descended toward the battlefield like a falling meteor. Exildra stared after him briefly and immediately turned toward the breached wall. Several warriors already fought desperately beside the gigantic dark cow, but it wasn’t enough. More beasts kept pouring in.
Exildra’s expression sharpened instantly. Light exploded from her body. A radiant golden-white aura spread outward across the battlefield. Above Exildra, a massive radiant eye slowly opened.
Far away from the walls of Senkeht, where ordinary warriors could no longer interfere, the desert had become a land of catastrophe.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The sky ruptured apart as Hakim’s flaming fist collided with the claw of the horned beast. The impact alone generated a shockwave so violent that entire dunes collapsed in the distance. The sand beneath them melted instantly into glass. Lightning exploded outward. Firestorms spiraled into the heavens. But before the energy could spread toward Senkeht, Forta slammed both palms downward.
"EARTH DOMAIN!"
The desert shook violently. Massive walls of stone erupted upward for hundreds of meters, intercepting the spreading destruction before it could reach the town. The stone barriers exploded seconds later from the remaining force anyway, but they had done their job.
The horned beast landed atop a dune with terrifying grace despite its enormous size. Purple lightning crawled endlessly across its black scales and dark fur while its glowing eyes stared at the two Demigods before it with amusement.
That alone unsettled them deeply. Most beasts fought through instinct, but this thing enjoyed battle. Hakim floated slightly above the desert now, flames swirling around his body like miniature suns. His skin glowed faintly red from the sheer heat radiating off him.
Tier 3. Body Forgery.
He had become one with fire itself. The air around him burned unnaturally. Every movement distorted space from heat alone. Beside him, Forta stood like an immovable mountain. The earth beneath his feet rose and wrapped around his body in layers of dark stone armor glowing with golden lines. The desert itself responded to his breathing. Sandstorms spiraled around him instinctively.
The ground cracked every time he shifted. Together, they looked less human and more like natural disasters wearing human shapes. And yet, neither of them felt certain of victory.
The beast smiled wider and vanished.
CRACK!
Purple lightning exploded across the battlefield. Hakim’s instincts screamed. He turned instantly, but he turned too late.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
A claw covered in lightning smashed into him like divine judgment. The desert exploded apart. Hakim was sent flying through three dunes before finally stabilizing himself mid-air in an eruption of flames. Forta reacted instantly.
"PILLARS OF THE EARTH!"
The ground erupted upward, and hundreds of gigantic stone spikes shot toward the beast from every direction simultaneously. The creature didn’t dodge: it roared.
Lightning exploded outward from its body in all directions. Every stone pillar shattered instantly. The sky lit purple, and the desert trembled. Storm clouds above them began forming unnaturally fast.
Hakim reappeared in a burst of fire. His hands slammed together, and a gigantic flaming spear formed above the battlefield.
It was massive, far larger than buildings. It was made of pure condensed fire. The surrounding desert began melting from its mere existence.
"SOLAR JUDGMENT!"
The spear descended, and the beast finally looked serious. Purple lightning erupted around its horns violently as it opened its jaws and fired.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
A colossal beam of lightning collided against the flaming spear mid-air. The world seemed to freeze. Fire and lightning consumed the sky completely. Everything exploded.
