Chapter 170: Chapter 170: Enlightenment
"So you’re saying, he was just wandering around and accidentally went into the wrong room?" Sane said in a low voice, a hint of danger hiding within his tone.
The hair on the back of Ryder and Oliver’s necks stood up simultaneously as they nodded nervously.
Kaelen curled his lips into a smile: "Ryder, every time you lie, your two index fingers unconsciously curl up. Oliver, your tail is about to tie itself into a bow."
Exposed by their Papa, the two little ones wore expressions that looked like they wanted to cry but had no tears. After an internal struggle, instead of getting spanked themselves, they finally decided to ’sacrifice’ their older brother:
"It... it was Brother Edward who took the initiative to steal the high-level cultivation method..."
"Hmph!" The two fathers scoffed coldly at the same time, scaring the two children so much they trembled like a leaf. Finnick couldn’t bear it and took the initiative to step forward and mediate for his two younger brothers. Kaelen said in a deep voice:
"I naturally know what he is worried about, but your fathers have repeatedly instructed that you all must prioritize your safety above all else. Yet, Edward is stubborn and refuses to listen, always putting himself in dangerous situations. That is something fathers like us absolutely cannot accept!"
Sane also said: "You don’t need to speak up for him anymore. I have recorded every single thing he has done, and I will settle the score with Edward when we meet later. As for Oliver and Ryder, you two knew full well that your brother did wrong, yet you still lied to cover for him. Today, you will jog alongside the carriage yourselves. Besides, Oliver knows how to walk now anyway."
With tears welling up in their eyes, Ryder and Oliver looked at their Daddy, then looked back at their Papa, saying with grievance: "Papa~"
Kaelen decisively turned his head, lifting the curtain and walking outside.
Sane snorted coldly: "Your Papa previously lived in a country with an extremely strict tradition of raising children, so you cannot use affection to sway him. Accept your fate, go out to eat breakfast, and prepare to set off."
Afterward, Sane also coldly strode outside. Finnick watched his Daddy’s disappearing silhouette and sighed, saying: "You two shouldn’t expect Daddy to soften his heart either. After all, beastmen are much more ruthless in raising children than Sub-Beasts."

When Sub-Beasts discipline their children, at most they just scold them or give them a few whacks with a whip. When beastmen teach their kids, they literally throw them into the middle of the forest to ’play’ with wild beasts or beat them until their bones go soft. Therefore, the two children could only accept their fate of having to jog for several kilometers, silently drawing an X in their hearts for their older brother.
As the sun gradually rose higher, the two children ran until they were drenched in sweat, but no one in the convoy dared to utter a word to plead for them. The Chief and the Priest didn’t look too good; moreover, this was also the first time everyone saw the two of them punishing their children so heavily. They all tacitly understood that the mistake the two kids made this time was extremely serious.
When the lunch break arrived, Oliver and Ryder finally got a breather. The two of them rested their hands on their knees, panting heavily, then slowly raised their heads and walked around lightly to regulate their breathing. The warriors all nodded in secret. Even though they were children, their military foundation was very solid. Despite being exhausted, they didn’t forget the most basic rule of endurance running.
Waiting for the two children to settle down, Kaelen then asked in a cold voice: "Do you know what you did wrong?"
Ryder and Oliver whimpered, crossing their arms over their chests and nodding. At this time, Sane handed each of them a cup of warm water and a warm face towel: "There will not be a next time. Get some rest."
A morning passed just like that. By noon, Oliver finally used a pen to draw out the characters he had captured with his photographic memory yesterday. Perhaps because of overexertion, the little boy’s hands were still trembling slightly.
A flash of heartache appeared in Kaelen’s eyes, but he then lowered his gaze to hide it.
If children are not disciplined strictly, they will only suffer losses when stepping out into society later on. He had lost half his life just to bring them into this world; he couldn’t afford to be neglectful of them even more so!
Only after finishing writing did Oliver realize that the number of characters he had struggled to memorize last night was pitifully small. Setting aside the fact that his handwriting was too large, if scaled down to the size of an adult’s handwriting like his Papa’s, it would only take up a mere two pages.
While Oliver was trying to check if he missed anything, Kaelen had already picked up the cultivation method to review it. Just reading the first line, he was stunned.
"Nine Netherworld Yin Spirits, All-Heavens Gods and Demons... This is... an Immortal Cultivation method???"
Once again, Kaelen was left speechless about the setting of this world. Why were the East and the West mixed together, tangled up into such a mess?!
Kaelen silently deciphered the cultivation method, and the fathers and sons did not disturb him. They gathered together, speaking in low voices about that level-nine Black Wolf beastman, not knowing whether the latter was a friend or a foe.
The lunch break quickly came to an end, and Kaelen hurriedly said to Sane: "I suddenly have a bit of enlightenment, let’s not rush to hit the road just yet. You should send someone to notify the Cinder tribe, so they don’t have to be anxious anymore."
Sane immediately issued the order, then had the soldiers advance forward by about two miles, preventing the scenario where Kaelen might level up after his enlightenment, which could cause casualties among the team members and loss of goods. He entrusted the children to Aaron’s care, while Sane himself stayed behind with Kaelen.
At this moment, Chloe chimed in: "Let Finnick stay with the High Priest. Their Divine Energy is highly compatible; they can support each other."
Sane thought for a moment, then brought Finnick along as well.

This enlightenment of Kaelen’s lasted for two days. By the dawn of the third day, a massive suppressive aura suddenly erupted, pulling in all the spiritual energy from a hundred-mile radius. There was no lightning, no dark clouds gathering, but this suppressive aura made it impossible for people to breathe.
Aaron clicked his tongue: "Truly powerful~" Then he stretched out his leg and lightly kicked the people tied up tightly next to the ox cart: "See that? If we hadn’t held you guys back, you would have already turned into a mushy pile of meat by now."
The tied-up Sub-Beasts and beastmen silently gulped. Who exactly were these people? Why would just leveling up cause such an immense suppressive aura? If they attacked their tribe, wouldn’t their tribe have no power to resist at all?
They secretly exchanged glances with each other, all tacitly understanding the implication. First, they would observe the situation carefully, then find an opportunity to escape and report back to the Chief to evacuate the clansmen in time.
The spiritual energy continued to surge, ceaselessly pouring down on the area surrounding Kaelen like a waterfall.
’Rumble!’
It sounded as if thunder was rolling through the void, like the beating of war drums, along with the roars of thousands of heavenly troops and horses.
All of Chloe’s leaves and tendrils stood upright as she whispered: "Divine Descent... this is exactly a Divine Descent... Alas, even when the world was still in the era of prosperous magic, Divine Descents could be counted on one hand..."
At this moment, a strong gust of wind suddenly erupted from within Kaelen’s body, spreading out in a circular pattern, blowing Sane, Finnick, and Chloe tumbling from side to side. Following the spreading wind, waves of plants and grass burst forth from the ground, rolling up and down like ocean waves.
A pale green beam shot straight up into the sky, taking Kaelen as its source, bringing along a shower of green rain. Wherever the raindrops fell, trees sprouted and blossomed, and all living things stopped, tilting their heads up to receive every single drop. Even the warriors in the merchant caravan received benefits from this rain, perhaps even more so than the sweet dew rain during Sane’s previous rank advancement.
The scouts felt the changes in their bodies, immediately filled with both terror and awe. The ones who benefited the most from this rain had to be Finnick and Oliver.
Not to mention Finnick, since his Divine Energy and his Papa’s originated from the same source. As for Oliver, his Water-attribute Divine Energy had an extreme fluctuation in response to these green raindrops.
He immediately jumped down from Evan’s embrace, ran to a flat patch of ground, and imitated his Papa by sitting cross-legged. The rainwater instantly stopped falling to the ground; it all converged into a circle spinning around the top of Oliver’s head, then transformed into streams of white spiritual energy, violently rushing into his body.
Sane had previously instructed Aaron to always pay attention to shielding Oliver if any unexpected situations arose, so Aaron immediately ordered a team of Divine Energy warriors to stand in a circle with their backs facing Oliver, using their shields to cover the little boy completely.
The outcome showed that what Sane worried about was completely founded. Just a moment after his surroundings were covered, Oliver’s two legs immediately turned into a tail, his body also gradually grew larger, and his purple hair lengthened at a visible speed, quickly covering the ground.
The rims of Oliver’s ears also gradually transformed into a fin-like shape similar to Sane’s, and the two small bumps on his head grew taller and taller, then began to branch out. The dark clouds that had just gathered in the sky were immediately dispersed by the green radiant light, and Aaron silently swallowed his saliva.
He knew that if a lightning storm struck down at this moment, even if they used all the lifelong speed of beastmen to flee, they might not necessarily be able to outrun it. Everyone in this family was far too dangerously formidable; in the future, if Aaron saw signs of them leveling up, he had to stay far, far away.
Even though the dark clouds had drifted away, the destructive power of the Water-attribute Divine Blood was still present. Underneath everyone’s feet, a large puddle of water quickly accumulated, rising higher and higher.

Aaron shouted loudly: "Earth attributes prepare, part the earth and dig trenches!"
All the Earth-attribute Divine Energy warriors immediately obeyed the command, lining up in a row, letting out a resonant shout before simultaneously slamming their hands onto the ground. The flat ground was split apart with a trench, and the water currents flowed away along it.
A tied-up Sub-Beast immediately yelled: "Direct the water towards our tribe, our tribe needs water!"
Another beastman roared out: "Our tribe is closer, direct it to our place!"
The two groups started bickering noisily. Aaron’s temples twitched, and he kicked the buttocks of that loud-mouthed beastman, shouting: "Shut up, everyone gets a share. Hurry up and lead the way."
Evan glanced at Aaron, the depths of his eyes filled with jealousy. Even at this point, Aaron was still so gentlemanly towards the Sub-Beasts. Aaron didn’t have the energy to care about Evan’s excessive possessiveness.
Sub-Beasts were always in a weaker position. Even though Aaron didn’t have feelings for Sub-Beasts, respecting them was the bare minimum a beastman needed to do.
This rank advancement of Kaelen and his sons lasted for an entire five days. It wasn’t until the group of Earth-attribute warriors had exhausted themselves digging several large ponds for a total of six large and small tribes that the flood-like rising water completely stopped. The source of the flood was left with only an underground spring that still provided water, no longer capable of causing a flood.
These six tribes were extremely grateful for the warriors’ kindness, enthusiastically inviting their merchant caravan to drop by their tribes.
The pale green pillar of light dimmed, then gradually dissipated. Kaelen opened his eyes; a hint of pale green light flashed within them, then slowly faded away at the corners of his eyes.
Oliver also lazily stretched his body and opened his eyes. What struck his sight was an even row of buttocks, surrounding him in a circle.
Oliver: "..."
