Chapter 861 - Who’s That Monster? It’s Evilspawn!
Han Wu and his group couldn’t enter the ruins, so they relied on the bee drones to observe the area from a distance.
When they spotted the dark shadow guarding the entrance, Han Wu didn’t dare lower his guard. He had V control a small portion of bee drones toward it, hoping to avoid unnecessary losses.
V carried out the order and directed a quarter of the bee drones toward the entrance. Unexpectedly, the shadow struck and crushed every drone with a single blow.
Since the video feed couldn’t confirm the shadow’s soul fluctuations, Han Wu had no choice but to order V to withdraw the remaining bee drones back and abandon the attempt to enter the ruins. Instead, they shifted their focus to scouting the surrounding area and gathering as much information as possible.

On the outskirts of a large city within the lost continent, Evilspawn and his lackeys had regrouped.
Evilspawn was furious about being knocked off the airship. From the day he was born until now, no one had ever left him in such a disheveled state. Even when the War God King had chased him down and beaten him, he hadn’t looked this pathetic.
“Han Wu, don’t let me catch you, or I’ll kill you!” Evilspawn snarled.
His members were all wounded. Unlike Evilspawn, they didn’t possess monstrous physical resilience.
“General Evilspawn, what do we do now?” the ship’s navigator asked.
Evilspawn forced his underdeveloped brain to think for a few seconds, then answered, “First, we eat!”
The navigator and the other lackeys didn’t dare object and followed Evilspawn into the city. Since they were all humanoid, they didn’t attract any attention upon entering.
Evilspawn barged into a steamed bun stall and started devouring everything in sight. He emptied the stall within moments, but he still wasn’t full. As he turned to leave, the stall owner grabbed his sleeve and demanded payment.
Evilspawn raised his fist and punched the man to death for daring to touch his clothes. A single blow sent blood splattering everywhere.
The surrounding people screamed and scattered. Evilspawn cheerfully bounded toward the next food stall and continued stuffing his face. His lackeys, long accustomed to his brutality, followed behind him. No one dared to reason with Evilspawn. The last person who had tried had been beaten to death on the spot.
Evilspawn ate and drank his way through half the city’s stalls before patting his belly and declaring himself about seventy percent full. His lackeys had scavenged scraps along the way and weren’t particularly hungry either.
Just as they were about to leave, an eerie sound rang out.
Under Evilspawn’s curious gaze, twisted soul monsters emerged from their homes one after another. When they saw Evilspawn, rage flooded their faces, and they radiated resentful dark purple energy.
Across countless cycles trapped within this time loop, this was the first time they had ever shared a common enemy.
Evilspawn couldn’t care less about their hatred. He didn’t even understand why those monsters were emitting dark purple energy.
“Finally decided to come out? Come on then, all of you! Let me have some fun!” he shouted and summoned his Divine Authority weapon.
A pair of battle axes materialized in his hands. He tore through the mutated soul monsters with ease, and pale purple crystals dropped to the ground.
Evilspawn wasn’t smart, but he had a surprisingly sharp eye for valuable items through memorization. He could recognize something precious at a glance.
The moment he picked up one of the crystals, he realized that he had stumbled onto treasure. As such, he ordered his lackeys to collect the crystals for him and continued slaughtering the monsters. Even without units to help him, Evilspawn killed at a terrifying pace.
Meanwhile, the lackeys gathered the crystals without noticing the dark purple energy seeping from them and drifting into their nostrils. As they inhaled more and more of the strange energy, the first victim finally appeared. His eyes turned blood red, just like the creatures here, before he lunged at Evilspawn in a mindless frenzy.
Evilspawn showed no mercy, not even to his own lackey. One punch caved in the man’s skull like a watermelon, sending blood spraying in every direction.
The remaining members were horrified by how ruthlessly Evilspawn killed one of his comrades. At the same time, the energy inside them activated. One after another, they lost their minds and attacked Evilspawn.
Evilspawn killed every single one without hesitation. Soon, only the navigator remained. He hid in a corner, trembling as he watched Evilspawn beat his former companions to death one by one. There was nothing he could do.
With no one left to collect the crystals, Evilspawn picked them up himself. Naturally, the dark purple energy seeped into his body as well.
As the amount he absorbed increased, he started having hallucinations. He saw his lackeys mocking, ridiculing, and calling him an idiot to his face. His rage surged. He charged at those hallucinations and killed everything in sight.
That was Evilspawn’s perspective. From the navigator’s point of view, Evilspawn was talking to himself before dark purple energy erupted from him and transformed him into a monster. Evilspawn then stomped away in a blind rage.
The navigator was right. Evilspawn had become a powerful monster. After Evilspawn disappeared into the distance, the navigator let out a small sigh of relief. He was grateful that he had been smart enough not to touch the crystals. Otherwise, he would have ended up like the others.
In the very next moment, his jaw dropped. The members that Evilspawn had beaten to death started rising from the ground. They transformed into creatures that were nearly identical to the mutated soul monsters from before.
The followers who had died there were now bound to the lost continent forever in their monstrous forms.

Han Wu’s group waited for the eerie sound to return. When it rang out again, Han Wu led everyone to charge through the shadow’s defenses and into the ruins. He barely had time to celebrate before a thunderous crash erupted from outside. A feral monster was charging toward the ruins.
Han Wu squinted at it and frowned.
“Is it just me, or does that thing look a lot like Evilspawn?” he asked V.
V scanned the monster and replied, “It doesn’t just look like him. That is Evilspawn, one of the Three Armies of the War Faction.”
“Oh, really? With how he looks right now, I shouldn’t get punished for hitting him, right?” Han Wu said as Peerless slid into his hand.
The monstrous Evilspawn’s gaze locked onto the weapon, and he charged straight at the ruins.
In the next instant, the shadow guarding the entrance swatted him away. Evilspawn flew through the air and crashed into the distance.
