Chapter 172: Chapter 101: Boarding the Ship

But Sean believed that neither Adelf nor the Night Watcher could refuse his "request."

This wasn’t just about helping him; it was about helping themselves.

Now that the 3rd Floor of the Holy Hall was open, everyone could learn Forbidden Meditation, greatly reducing the difficulty of mastering true Forbidden Spells in the future. In other words, as long as one obtained the materials and had sufficient Magic Power, anyone had a chance to become a Grand Mage. Who could resist such a temptation?

Yisha was the first to declare her stance, slamming her small hand on the table with a WHAP. "I’m in!"

Everyone: "..."

Elise looked at the young girl, amused. "What Tier are you even at? What makes you think you can join in?"

Yisha’s eyes widened in a glare. "Are you looking down on me?"

’Sure, I’m only Tier Four now, but I’m young and pure!’

’And I’m not that far from Tier Five, either.’

"You guys do the math on your ages."

Yisha looked at Kate and huffed, "Mr. Light Attendant is already going through menopause and he’s only Tier Five. Don’t I have more potential than him?"

Kate: "?"

’How rude!’

’Was it my fault my memories awakened late?’

"By that logic, isn’t a certain old fossil even more pathetic?" Kate said. "He’s got one foot in the grave and only just reached Tier Six. Absolutely no future."

Sopea: "?"

’He just can’t talk without taking a jab at me, can he?’

He deeply regretted not slapping Kate before he’d died to teach this insolent brat how to respect his elders!

Sean cut in, "Don’t forget to tell Adelf and the Night Watcher that if they’re on board, they should gather at Alvess Sea Port. We’ll wait for them for seven days."

Seven days was enough time for them to think it over and travel from the Inland to the coast.

In reality, they didn’t need to consider it at all.

Sean had been right on the money. The two Chairmen couldn’t possibly refuse the temptation—

"What?!"

"You found the materials for the Kersu Magic Potion?!"

When Adelf received Kate’s call, he was both shocked and overjoyed. A heart that had been dormant for many years began to THUMP THUMP wildly, as if he were a young man again.

He had spent most of his life searching for the ingredients to concoct the Kersu Magic Potion, but to no avail. He had all but given up, so he never expected to hear such hopeful news from Kate.

"Wait for me! I’ll get there with my people within three days!"

"Teacher, don’t get too excited. It’s not that simple..."

"I’m not excited!" Adelf said, already instructing his assistant, "Quick, book me a ticket to Alvess! Plane, train, or boat—I don’t care, just get me the fastest one!"

Kate: "..."

’You’re really not excited?’

Adelf actually knew what Kate was trying to say.

It was nothing more than a warning about how dangerous the operation would be.

But was he afraid of danger?

The longer one lives, the more one understands that some things in this world are more important than life itself.

Things like faith, ideals, and ambition.

It had been a long time since Adelf had personally taken action, not since he became Chairman of the Dawn Council. This was the perfect opportunity to stretch his old bones.

He had to obtain the ingredients for the Kersu Magic Potion. Only by becoming a Grand Mage could he better serve Lord Blake, who was about to make his comeback. Only then could he help Lord Blake restore the Era of Polymath, end the Witch Hunt Operation, and revive the glory of the Holy Sanctuary!

「Meanwhile, in Krim State.」

The Night Watcher, Chairman of the Long Night Union, also agreed to "help."

To be honest, he didn’t trust Sean.

But he did trust Sopea.

Sopea was a stern man, serious in both his personal life and his work. He would never joke about something like this.

The weight of the words "Kersu Magic Potion"—not to mention "Grand Mage"—was simply too great. Even with his doubts, he had to go and see for himself.

Believe first, question later.

Thus, both the Long Night Union and the Dawn Council sprang into action.

Attacking a Witch Hunter Family was no small matter, regardless of whether the Kersu Magic Potion or the chance to become a Grand Mage were real.

The two Chairmen mobilized nearly all of their available elites, leading over a thousand people in secret, successive waves toward Alvess Sea Port.

"Huh? That many?" Sean was taken aback when he first heard the number.

He had thought a few hundred would be more than enough, since they had to leave people behind to defend their headquarters. But Sopea told him that the Long Night Union alone was bringing twelve hundred people, all of them Tier Three or higher.

"Will the ship we booked even fit them all?"

"Leave it to me."

Kate said.

Of course, the ship they had originally booked wouldn’t be big enough.

There were fewer than ten of them in their group. The original plan had been to hitch a ride on a freighter, get off at the port closest to World’s End, and then rent a couple of cars to drive the rest of the way. With this change of plans, that was obviously no longer feasible.

But that was no problem.

He had money.

Kate went straight to a shipping agent at the port and, for a hefty price, bought out all the "remaining" tickets for the most luxurious cruise liner in Alvess Port.

If building a cruise ship weren’t such a hassle and the agent hadn’t been so unwilling to sell a core business asset, Kate might have just bought the entire vessel for their "road trip."

Koni finally couldn’t resist asking, "Mr. Light Attendant, just how much money do you have?"

Kate replied coolly, "Enough to get me hanged from a lamppost."

The others: "..."

’This capitalist is surprisingly self-aware, isn’t he?’

"Make sure everyone changes into disguises," Sean said.

Sopea nodded. "Understood."

So many Wizards traveling together would easily attract the attention of Witch Hunters. A disguise was necessary. Since it was the Day of Abstinence, they could simply pose as tourists on vacation.

Sean and his group did the same.

With nothing much to do while they waited, they went shopping in Alvess Port, enjoying the time off and blending in naturally with the crowds of tourists.

「On the fifth day.」

People began to board the ship.

Since Kate had bought all the tickets, anyone who showed up late was turned away. Phone inquiries were met with a polite message: all tickets were sold out, please try again earlier next time.

However...

"Do you really think sold-out tickets can stop me?"

Sabeck, who had trailed Sean’s group all the way to Alvess Port, sneered inwardly as he listened to the polite female voice on the phone inform him that there were no tickets available.

’If I can’t board the normal way, then I’ll find another way.’

’I have connections, too!’

As a logistics company, the Grey Bird Company had dealt with the ship crews at Alvess Port plenty of times before.

Many of the crew members here were transient, moving between ships as needed, like temp workers going wherever the jobs were.

As it happened, out of the twenty-odd ships scheduled to depart in the coming days, he had an acquaintance on the crew of every single one—including the *Jimmyria*, the ship Sean’s group was boarding.

Sabeck couldn’t figure out where this bunch of Wizards was going or what they were up to.

He’d never expected them to take a ship from Alvess Port.

’But perhaps this is fate.’

Sean and his group probably had no idea that his specialty was the "water."

Near the sea, his combat prowess would be elevated to another level, rivaling that of a Tier Six.

The ocean, one could say, was his absolute home turf.

Even Sopea wouldn’t necessarily be his match here.

And what’s more, he’d brought men with him.

A lot of men.

One hundred, to be exact.

If they were on land, he truly wouldn’t have dared to act so rashly.

After all, even Zajik had died at their hands.

But of all things, they just had to flee to the sea.

To that, Sabeck could only say—the Grey Bird Company would solve the problem that the Florist Family couldn’t!

No, the Grey Bird *Family*!

Sabeck had his own interpretation as to why the New Elderidge police department hadn’t intervened to stop Sean’s group from escaping.

Higgins probably considered it beneath him to act personally.

’If he has to do everything himself, what’s the point of keeping so many families around?’

’He must be waiting. Waiting for one of the families to deliver the heads of Sean and the others to him.’

’This, then, is the perfect opportunity to get ahead.’

And what better place to make a move than the vast, helpless expanse of the open ocean?

Sabeck’s eyes gleamed, as if he could already see his own bright future.

And so, that afternoon, he and his men infiltrated the *Jimmyria*.

Their cover, for him and all his men, was that of crew members.

As night fell, the *Jimmyria* set sail.

On the bustling, festive deck, Sabeck stood among the crowd, watching the moonlit waves and the receding port. A smile crept onto his lips.

He’d bet that Sean had no idea that some of the ship’s crew had been replaced by his people.

The ship had left the shore. He declared—

this band of Wanted Criminals was now officially surrounded.
