Chapter 133: Obssessed with a man
But that didn’t matter to her. She got up, and like a violent force, she tore through the hallways of the imperial palace. Everywhere she went, people scattered into the darkness or cowered, not daring to look at her.
She was even more terrifying than Li Mingze. At least the madman had times when he smiled, and he even compensated them very well. When the little prince did something that pleased him, which was often, he would give them bonuses.
Xiu Ying, on the other hand, treated them like trash. She was nice in the past, but their salaries had been reduced considerably. Her explanation was that the treasury was empty, and they needed to save for the sake of Aurelia. They could tolerate this injustice in the past, thinking that she was being a good leader and looking out for the people.
But ever since Li Jun died, things had been spiraling. Her true nature was revealed. She always had a violent temper. She would punish anyone and everyone for the simplest mistakes.
The worst part was when one got things thrown at them when she was angry about something that had nothing to do with them. Mother and daughter were tyrannical and beyond evil. The imperial palace that was once filled with laughter and warmth was now as cold as the halls of the Helion palace.
Xiu Ying, when she reached her daughter’s wing, kicked the bedroom doors open. The guards outside the doors knelt in fear. With a roar that almost sounded beastly, she called her name, but there was no answer.
She tossed the place upside down while cursing and screaming. The guards that were meant to stop her weren’t spared. She had a full violent outburst, and everyone in that room paid the price.
Her phone suddenly rang, snapping her out of her rage. She saw it was Yu Wen, so she put down the lamp she was holding, and it shattered to pieces. She closed her eyes, composing herself. She took a deep breath and exhaled, her face taking a complete one-eighty.
With a smile, she answered the phone, making everyone in the room tremble in fear. That smile wasn’t friendly. She looked more like a devil about to do something menacing. "Can I speak to her?" she said.
Yu Wen looked at Li Yu, who had lost all her imposing majesty. She was now biting her lip with fear in her eyes. He put the phone on loudspeaker. A long stretch of silence followed, the tension in the room intensifying.
Li Yu stammered, "Mo-mother." She expected her mother to curse her to death, but Xiu Ying was so soft-spoken it was terrifying.
"Honey, how could you run off like that, huh? That is an active war zone. Even if the general can protect you, it’s not right. He has too many things to attend to. You are just burdening him. Now come home," she said.
This version of Xiu Ying was even more terrifying to her. She wanted to protest, but she was scared. "Mother," she whispered, "I-"
Xiu Ying cut her off and said, "Yu Yu, listen to your mother, okay." She was speaking so softly, but the warning was clear. Left with no choice, Li Yu nodded.
"Yes, mother," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Xiu Ying turned to the general and said, "Thank you so much for accommodating her. I will trouble you to see that she leaves with an escort, of course."
Yu Wen said, "Yes, Your Majesty." He hung up and turned to look at her. "Pack your things and go. I don’t want to see you ever again."
Li Yu grabbed his arm with a tight grip. Yu Wen pulled his arm away, but she grabbed it again. She broke down in tears and sobbed. She sobbed like she had lost someone close to her heart.
Her voice brittle, she said, "Why couldn’t it just be me. I have loved you since the day I met you. I did every-everything I could to please you. Why, huh?... Am I really not as good as that man, huh?"
Yu Wen had a man to go back to, so he didn’t want to waste time here. He took his hand back forcefully and walked out. As he stepped out, he said, "Make sure she leaves within three hours."
The men saluted and answered, "Yes, sir."

While Yu Wen was gone, Li Jun tried to fall asleep, but just thinking of that pitiful face seducing Yu Wen, he got angry. He kicked the blanket off of his body and flailed his limbs like he was fighting for his life.
"Why?!" The question wasn’t particularly directed at anyone. He was asking why Yu Wen had such an alluring charm that attracted anyone and everyone. Li Yu could have had anyone in the entirety of Aurelia, but she just had to be obsessed with Yu Wen.
She was so obsessed, in fact, that she came here right into a war zone, just to see him. She didn’t even care if she got attacked or killed. What kind of person did that?
AN: Wellllll.... you.
He was thinking what kind of person would be that obsessed with a man, so much so that they would chase them to the end of the universe? It was ridiculous. No, he had to get rid of her.
What if Yu Wen were swayed by those bright eyes? He had once been swayed by those same eyes when Li Yu was little. She looked so sad and pitiful, playing by herself. She had no friends because her mother forbade it. When he passed by, she looked up at him with those bright eyes, looking so sad.
Just thinking of the possibility of Yu Wen being swayed, he kicked angrily. Yan Jia heard the commotion inside, and she could no longer stand it. She rushed in and said, "Even if you want to thank him for the chicken, this isn’t the way. Do you even have all the tools? What if you get hurt like the last time, huh? That beast couldn’t even wait until the-"
She rapidly fired with no restraint, and with each sentence, Li Jun’s eyes widened. He covered her mouth and whispered, "Sister Jia, nothing happened. I just slept over, that’s all."
