Chapter 1803: Chapter 1803: Stubborn Till Death

"Village chief, what’s going on? It’s not like what we discussed. Did they actually dare to shoot?"

"Impossible—"

As soon as the words were spoken, the woman in red pulled the trigger.

"Bang!"

The bullet headed towards the village chief, causing sharp pain in his knee, and his cane fell to the ground.

"Bang" another sound!

Both of the village chief’s knees were shot, and he fell to the ground with a thud.

"Village chief!"

"Village chief, are you okay!"

"How dare you shoot! How dare you!"

"Are you trying to harm the villagers? Is there no law left?"

"You murderers!"

The villagers cursed loudly, but no one dared to wield their farm tools. They dropped them as soon as the village chief was shot, keeping their mouths strong but their actions timid.

The village chief stared at Xiangxiang incredulously, his voice hoarse: "How dare you!"

"If you resist or fight back, the next bullet won’t be for your knees, it’ll be..." Xiangxiang pointed at her forehead.

The village chief flinched.

He saw nothing but malice in the girl’s eyes, not a hint of joking.

Xiangxiang: "I’m somewhat looking forward to a large-scale resistance, and then..." she glanced at the troops behind her: "a large-scale massacre."

Someone among the police whispered: "That statement was too arrogant, can’t let this spread!"

A newcomer in the troops shouted: "Hell yeah!"

Previously, they had missions to rescue trafficked women and children from villages, but found themselves powerless against those villagers. Unable to hurt them, they ended up compromising, with frustration in their hearts. If not for the discipline, they would’ve loved to beat those shameless people, and maybe some even wished to shoot them.

But they could only swallow their resentment, and had to pay those people to exchange for the poor women and children. Some women chose to stay in the mountains forever because their children were kept back, never returning.

Every time they saw such scenes, they felt heartbroken, but remained helpless.

When they learned about this mission’s general details, they assumed it would be the same as before, filled with frustration. But unexpectedly, the leader was so arrogant, and so beautiful, she was like their Goddess!

Xiangxiang was unaware that she had been silently idolized by these recruits.

Once the village chief realized it wasn’t a joke, he dared not act recklessly anymore. His previously relaxed demeanor vanished, replaced with a tight furrowed brow. Suddenly, his tears streamed, kneeling on the ground, crying loudly: "Oh heavens, open your eyes and see what wrong we have done for them to treat us like this! If justice exists, it will punish you, you bandits!"

Xiangxiang laughed angrily: "Your ability to twist words is impressive, but unfortunately, no one here will back you! If the heavens had eyes, they would’ve already struck you vile creatures dead!"

She turned to the Seventh Captain’s team: "Tie them all up, take everyone away, leave no one behind!"

"What about the women and children?"

"Take them all, they are witnesses, not one can be missing."

"What wrong have we done?" the village chief wailed.

"Still not admitting fault? These women," Xiangxiang pointed at the women, questioning: "where are they all from?"

The village chief sobbed, looking aggrieved: "We spent bride price money, brought them from the neighboring village!"
