Chapter 1727: Chapter 1727: He’s a Smiling Tiger

Little Taotie cheered.

She wanted to jump up, but her little head was still being held down, so she didn’t hop.

Her big eyes were filled with a bewildered light.

The old man laughed out loud, and the hand pressing on her head turned into a gentle pat. He said, "Let’s go."

He withdrew his hand, and this time Little Taotie jumped up, cheerfully hopping along.

Hua Jinyan wasn’t mentioned by name, but he followed along anyway.

The old man glanced at him lightly, seeing him continue to follow, he shook his head but didn’t stop him.

Queen Flower Lady lifted Little Taotie high and placed her on her shoulder, laughing, "You’re the tallest, you can see the farthest."

Little Taotie blinked, giggling happily.

The gloomy atmosphere initially intended for exploring the unknown was dispelled by the little girl’s laughter, as if the gloom in everyone’s hearts was blown away by her laughter.

Little Taotie blinked and looked into the distance.

As they got closer to the Ancient Tower, the previously fog-free area was now occupied by mist.

"Don’t go any further, it’s miasma," the old man said, his face darkened.

The sky was about to darken, and this kind of miasma actually seemed more like Yin Qi.

The Yin Qi would gather, and ghosts would approach.

"Don’t be afraid, I’m here!" Little Taotie sat on Queen Flower Lady’s shoulder, looking very small, speaking in a seemingly ineffective way, yet she appeared very confident.

Everyone chuckled lightly, and no one took her words to heart.

Little Taotie puffed her cheeks, but was helpless nonetheless.

The old man took out a strange horn and blew it towards the miasma.

This opened Little Taotie’s eyes wide.

Queen Flower Lady whispered in Little Taotie’s ear, "This is the leader’s Divine Skill, he’s very talented in music."

After a bit of blowing, the miasma was dispersed.

As the sky grew darker, with the miasma blown away, it was just an open space now, the ancient pagoda had long turned into blocks of gold bricks that Little Taotie collected into the Horse-Faced Bell.

The old man checked around where the Ancient Pagoda used to be, then went to inspect the area around the black boulder.

Little Taotie, Hua Jinyan, and Lou Lan had been here before and had checked it out, so they just turned into bystanders now, standing to the side and observing.

The others followed the old man, looking around everywhere, but who knew how many of them understood any of it.

At any rate, Queen Flower Lady didn’t understand a thing.

Queen Flower Lady eventually gave up and walked to Little Taotie’s side to join them as a bystander.

The old man sighed.

Clearly, he had not gained anything.

"Let’s go back," the old man hesitated for a moment, but still grabbed a handful of dirt.

Little Taotie was startled: "Are you taking it back?"

The old man nodded.

Little Taotie hurriedly took out a small shovel from her little bag and held it high: "I have a shovel, why are you using your hands?"

The old man: "..."

Those around them wanted to laugh, but didn’t dare to.

The old man, with a darkened face, led the way back.

Queen Flower Lady pinched Little Taotie’s little nose, "You made him lose face."

Little Taotie was innocent: "Is that so, then I’ll apologize."

In a child’s world, there aren’t so many twists and turns or complexities; if you make a mistake, you just apologize.

Queen Flower Lady hastily stopped her, "If you don’t mention it, you don’t need to apologize. If you go and apologize out of nowhere, it’ll just make him more embarrassed and lose more face."

Little Taotie blinked, looking utterly confused.

Apologizing isn’t right, and neither is not apologizing.

Adults are so troublesome.

The little girl shrugged her hands: "So what do I do now? Pretend nothing happened?"

Queen Flower Lady nodded: "Pretend nothing happened, let him digest it himself. When he feels okay, his face will look better."

"Will he go back to his original smiling face?"

Lou Lan laughed out loud: "Well, even a child can see it, he’s just a smiling tiger."
