Chapter 1631: Reason Behind The Summon
Klaus and the Celestial Supreme walked into a large hall where eleven younsgters sat waiting for him to arrive. He was supposed to have come days ago, had it not been for his mission in the Eleven Empire,
Every last one of them appeared to be around his age, but Klaus knew they were much older than he was.
Ten of them were Demigods, possessing some of the strongest Demigod auras he had seen so far, while the eleventh was an Immortal Lord with an equally terrifying presence.
Klaus, who had never expected to see this lineup, was stunned even further when memories from first incarnations, which he thought he had already fully recalled, resurfaced. It appears there were still a few memories yet to be recovered.
Within those memories, he recognized all eleven young men in the hall, causing his eyes to narrow slightly. For a moment, he nearly pulled out his weapon and attacked eight of them.
During the Primordial Era, when Klaus learned that the Forsaken Universe had been attacked and destroyed by the Doom Universe, he furiously embraced the Void and ventured there with his sworn brother, the Great Sage, Heaven’s Equal, Sun Wukong, and destroyed it in return.
However, during the battle against the Thirteen Doom Monarchs, Klaus suspected someone else was lurking in the background, conspiring against them.
However, they had no time to deal with that person, so after killing eight Monarchs and imprisoning five, they left. Right now, as he stood facing these people, he could clearly see that eight of the eleven gathered there were reincarnations of the Doom Monarchs.
As for the remaining three, one of them was the reincarnation of the first leader of the Heavens Court, while the other two were the reincarnations of the head of the Magnus Vampire Clan, Lord Magnus, and his little brother, Sungmin.
Back during the Primordial Era, they had been the Paragon’s best friends, and they were also the reason why the Void invasion failed.
However, they were betrayed by a young member of the clan, who was also the son of Lord Magnus. That bastard was now the Celestial Supreme.
’But how are the eight Doom Monarchs here in the Primus Universe?’ Klaus asked himself as he walked toward the last remaining empty seat.
’Icon, mark all of them. If I cannot kill them now, I can kill them later. However, I cannot let anyone take over their vessels. That would be catastrophic.’
Klaus walked to his seat and sat down. Then he turned and scanned the faces looking back at him once more before focusing on Icon’s reply.
[Master, I can only place markers on three of them, and they don’t have the Doom Monarchs’ bloodlines in them. However, the other eight cannot be tagged.]
’That is a bit troublesome, Icon. I cannot kill them in front of a Pseudo-Primordial, and I most certainly cannot do that while I’m here. This means I cannot stop that bastard...’
’It appears I cannot end everything today. However, saving the other three will do. I cannot fail my friends again, not when they were the reason I survived the Primordial Era.’
[It is good that the Master understood the risk and chose to play it safe. After all, I can sense three Primordials nearby, so the Master should be ready for anything.]
’I will, Icon. Just be ready to enter combat mode. We may not be able to win today, but we can strike a lethal blow and bring an end to this fraud, calling himself the Celestial Supreme.’
[I have already made provisions, Master.]
Just then, Elorm, or as he called himself, the Celestial Supreme, sat on his throne and scanned the faces of the twelve youngsters he had summoned.
"Thank you all for coming," he started politely, but Klaus wasn’t buying it.
"I called you here not to intimidate you, but to present an opportunity I believe all of you will be pleased with." He smiled faintly before starting to tell the biggest lie in the universe.
"As you all know, the universe is currently at war with three factions. The first, of course, is the foreign race that has invaded our universe and is trying to take control of all life.
The second is the demon faction, which has sought to keep the universe at its mercy for years now. We have made countless efforts to eradicate them, but they just keep coming.
And the last is, of course, the Paragon. Recently, I believe you all witnessed how he single-handedly annihilated an entire legion of Heaven’s Army. He is dangerous and very cunning, perhaps even more so than the foreign race and the demon faction." He looked directly at Klaus before continuing.
"Why am I telling you this? It is because I have some good news for all twelve of you. I tasked my people with searching for youngsters below the rank of God who possess great potential, and I was introduced to you twelve.
That said, the reason you are here has to do with your talents and the gift the Heavens have given me to bestow upon twelve capable warriors.
You twelve will be the recipients, and once you are done receiving this inheritance, I will personally ensure that you gain enough power to make a change in the universe."
Smiles appeared on the faces of everyone except Klaus, who maintained a neutral expression. The Celestial Supreme noticed this, and as someone who knew where Klaus came from, he concluded that perhaps Klaus wasn’t impressed by what he had said.
So he added even more lies. "After receiving your inheritance, you will become disciples of Primordials, beings far stronger than Celestials."
To keep up appearances, Klaus furrowed his brow, showing that he was intrigued. This made the Celestial Supreme smile.
’What an idiot,’ Klaus chuckled inwardly.
Suddenly, one of the young men, who was the incarnation of Lord Magnus, the very person from whom Klaus’ future title as the Vampire Monarch, Magnus, originated, asked,
"Celestial Supreme, I want to know the risks involved in accepting the inheritance of the Heavens."
In simple terms, he wanted to know whether they would become puppets of the Heavens.
His question made the Celestial Supreme smile, but Klaus caught the cold glint that flashed through his eyes.
If Klaus could read his mind, he would have heard the Celestial Supreme say, ’Of course you would, after all, my master merely needs your bodies and talents.’
However, he replied in a benevolent tone, "Of course not. You will remain your true selves and even gain a connection to the Heavens. More importantly, all twelve of you will emerge as Celestials."
Everyone was pleased, and this time even Klaus seemed intrigued.
The Celestial Supreme turned and addressed him directly. "I know you and the Paragon had a mutually beneficial relationship. However, while that may work for you now, the moment he senses you are a threat, he won’t hesitate to attack.
But with the inheritance you are about to receive, you will easily be able to overpower him and his allies. So be ready to take command of your life when the time comes, and don’t let him influence you any further."
Klaus nodded. "I will take your advice to heart, Celestial Supreme."
"Very well."
He smiled again and stood up. "Now follow me to the place where you will inherit the gifts of the Heavens."
They soon left the hall and started moving into the distance, flying over the vast expanse of the sea below them.
[I am entering Battle Mode, Master,] Icon said, and Klaus nodded at her words.
’Good. Go ahead.’
