Chapter 1949: Chapter 868: Advancement and Beginning
When the Heavenly Sphere Clock completed its rotation, a gray image appeared before his eyes.
The scene was filled with countless wisps of Gray Fog, deep and deathly still, without the slightest trace of life.
"Where is this?"
Rod rarely saw such a scene, and the coordinates shown on the Heavenly Sphere Clock were also very strange, not like anything in the Main Material World.
The Book of Knowledge immediately recognized it: "Master, this is the Boundary Land. This Dream Fragment is in the Boundary Land of the high-tier Spirit Realm."
Rod’s heart leapt with joy: "Boundary Land? Then it should be easy to get, right?"
The Boundary Land was the gap zone between high-tier Spirit Realm regions, winding and narrow. There was no Spirituality here, no Energy, and no corrosion; it was a hollow, deathly still place. If the Dream Fragment was here, then he wouldn’t have to worry about encountering powerful corrupted existences.
The Book of Knowledge flipped its pages, silently watching the coordinates. After a moment it said, "Master, the Dream Fragment is extremely far away. The Dream Bubble will take a very long time to drift there, which will delay our entry into the ’Long Tower’."
Rod frowned slightly: "Is it bad if we enter the ’Long Tower’ a bit later?"
The Book of Knowledge solemnly turned its pages, its tone heavy as it said, "The Dream Bubble can delay entering the next high-tier Spirit Realm for a little while, but it cannot remain long in a Boundary Land with no Spiritual Power Waves at all. This is not a Sanctuary. Its ’emptiness’ merely happens to lie between the high-tier Spirit Realm regions. If the Dream remains here for too long, it may cause shifts in the high-tier Spirit Realm regions, which in turn could trigger more severe disturbances... This is extremely dangerous, even more so than staying within the high-tier Spirit Realm regions themselves."
Rod nodded slightly; no wonder the Dream had never lingered in the Boundary Land.
"Then how do we retrieve this Dream Fragment? Should I use the [Spirit Boat] to go over?"
The Book of Knowledge rapidly flipped its pages, its voice turning excited: "Yes, Master. The [Spirit Realm Ship] fully possesses the ability to traverse the high-tier Spirit Realm. In fact, it was originally meant to sail through the Spirit Realm. You can retrieve the Dream Fragment at the fastest speed, and this Dream Fragment should be the Tower of Ashes. I’ve already seen the flickering gray radiance within the Fragment, and that strange wedge-shaped pattern."
Rod’s heart gave a heavy thump. Just like the "Heavenly Sphere Clock," the Tower of Ashes could locate Star Ash. Without a doubt, this was the Dream Building he currently needed the most.
"But in my current form, can I leave the Dream far behind?"
The Book of Knowledge answered with certainty: "Yes, Master. The Dream is already far Stronger than before. Even in a mental State, you can travel far, as long as you don’t leave the high-tier Spirit Realm, there will be no problem."
Rod did not hesitate for even half a second. As his Divine Power surged, the thin mist of the Spirit Boat instantly enveloped him. In the next second, the [Spirit Boat] carried him at extreme speed out of the Dream, vanishing from sight in the blink of an eye.
The gray air of the Boundary Land surged toward him, but Rod felt no pressure at all. The Black Fog had not contaminated this place, because on both sides lay high-tier Spirit Realm regions rich in Spirituality and Energy. They absorbed the Black Fog like sponges, drawing it all away. But that did not mean the Black Fog could not erode this place; once a Strong Spiritual substance or Energy Source appeared in the Boundary Land, the Black Fog would also gather here, forming a source of Pollution.
Thinking of this, a bad premonition suddenly rose in Rod’s heart, and sure enough, when he arrived near the coordinates, the first thing that entered his sight was an incomparably vast Black Domain. Countless Black Fog Symbionts were entrenched here. Above, tens of thousands of long, black threadlike objects descended from the Starry Sky. In this moment, it was as if he had stepped into an immense Dark Forest.
And the instant he stepped into this Dark Forest, countless dark bolts of lightning fell from the unimaginably distant Starry Sky. The Black Fog Symbionts let out shrill roars, and a massive black tide surged toward him.
Rod immediately halted the [Spirit Boat], pouring all 50 kiloticks of Divine Power into the [Eye of Divine]. The annihilating gaze instantly burst from his eyes. Every Black Fog Symbiont and Black Fog Avatar that came into contact with it dissolved on the spot. The immense black tide was like a black painting being erased by a rubber eraser; wherever his gaze swept, the darkness was dispelled.
However, there were simply too many monsters. The entire sky turned black as a majestic tide of Black Fog surged toward him. The roaring Black Fog Symbionts now numbered over a million.
Rod did not wish to be entangled here for long. The Black Fog’s reaction was extraordinarily violent, and the cries in his Soul were still thunderous. This Dream Fragment was the largest he had ever encountered. If he continued to tangle here, he could not be sure what might arrive.
Thus, he directly called upon the Sun Bombardment.
Since the Battle of Yanuo, Rod had not used the Sun Tower again. The Sun Lake had already stored up enough Energy for him to unleash the Sun Bombardment multiple times.
And the complete Sun Tower, under the guidance of a complete Star Core, could even bombard the Main Material World. Striking another high-tier Spirit Realm was no problem at all.
As expected, in just the blink of an eye, countless rays of intense Golden Light crossed the void and descended. Within each golden pillar of light surged a terrifying destructive Energy. They fell upon the Dark Forest like a storm of annihilation.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The exploding Golden Light devoured the darkness in an instant. The destructive Energy spread wantonly, blasting the vast black tide into pieces. The Black Fog Symbionts dissolved in swathes, and even the Black Fog Avatars could not withstand this terrifying bombardment and fell one after another. The enormous Black Domain was blown open, and the link to the Dream Fragment became ever clearer.
