Chapter 1156: Chapter 1156: Acting in Full Swing
Very soon, the next filming location arrived.
This was an apartment building, not many people lived there yet. It was quite new, making it convenient for shooting scenes without too many spectators gathering around.
Once the props and other elements were prepared by each film crew, Jiang Pan Die, the female lead, walked into the apartment. She was about to take the elevator when she heard a thunderous crash from outside, and the power went out. Helplessly, she could only take the stairs.
The corridor was pitch-black, leaving no light whatsoever, allowing only a vague outline to be seen.
Jiang Pan Die held onto the railing and walked slowly.
Suddenly, there was a sharp pain in her ankle, accompanied by a piercing scream as she fell from the fourth step of the stairs.
This was a real fall, of course, with some protective gear on her and guidance from two stunt coordinators to minimize the danger.
But even so, it was truly admirable for a girl to dare to perform such a fall herself, when she could easily have asked for a stunt double.
The fragile and helpless female lead, dragging her weary body, curled up at the foot of the stairs, burying her head in her knees and breaking into sobs.
The uninhibited cries were like a flood bursting through a dam, unstoppable, pouring into people’s ears, compelling sympathy.
Even Bai Shishi, standing aside, felt a pang in her heart, her eyes turned slightly red.
Women are emotional beings, their feelings are rich, allowing them easily to empathize with others’ experiences. What’s more, the current female lead was exactly like Bai Shishi back then.
In front of her subordinates and colleagues, she seemed unyielding, as if nothing could hinder her.
But when she returned to an empty room alone, all the setbacks and bitterness welled up in her heart.
She never cried out loudly like the current female lead, only curled up in the corner of the bed, lost in thoughts.
...
Suddenly, a beam of light shone down from the upper floor.
The light was soft, not glaring, yet it was impossible to see who was behind it.
Jiang Pan Die’s sobs quieted considerably, as if afraid of exposing her inner wounds. She lowered her head even further.
"It’s me."
It was Lin Tian’s voice, gentle and soft, like a breeze in spring that could melt the accumulated snow of winter.
When Jiang Pan Die raised her head, she saw a face blurred by the afterglow but could clearly see it was a warm, healing smile.
Jiang Pan Die froze, her tense body seemed to relax a bit.
"Why did you come?" Jiang Pan Die lowered her head again, her tone resentful.
"I came to take you home."
With those words, Lin Tian crouched down and swooped Jiang Pan Die into his arms.
The soft fragrance of jade in his embrace made Lin Tian’s heartbeat accelerate, inevitably stirring his emotions.
Jiang Pan Die symbolically struggled a couple of times, making Lin Tian feel even more sensitive. Luckily, the dim light concealed his embarrassed expression.
"Don’t move, you have an injury, rubbing against it will hurt." Lin Tian said.
Those injuries weren’t painted on but truly came from the fall!
Jiang Pan Die requested them herself since the effects of the medicine would be demonstrated soon.
Sure enough, upon hearing this, Jiang Pan Die, like a docile kitten, lay quietly in Lin Tian’s embrace without moving.
"Cut!" Mr. Yu stood up and shouted loudly.
This signaled that the scene was complete, and the result was likely satisfactory.
Lin Tian gently put Jiang Pan Die down and supported her, asking, "Did it hurt a lot?"
Jiang Pan Die’s face was still flushed, and her ears were slightly warm. This was her first time being held so intimately by a man, and it was truly embarrassing.
After a moment, Jiang Pan Die raised a smiling face and said, "Yes, a little."
Her sunny smile was entirely different from the fragile female lead she portrayed, such good acting made Lin Tian give a thumbs up.
"Hang in there, once the medicine is used in the next scene, you’ll be better."
"Don’t worry, I’m not that fragile. It’s normal to get hurt while filming." Jiang Pan Die said, "Let’s ask the director how it went. That was your first time on camera, and I think you did quite well."
"Sure."
As the two leads approached, before they could ask, Mr. Yu proactively inquired, "Pan Die, was that fall just now alright?"
This was Yu Qianming’s biggest concern at the moment. If anything happened to Jiang Pan Die, he wouldn’t be able to explain.
"Thank you, director, I’m fine, just a few scrapes."
Yu Qianming pat his chest, letting out a sigh of relief, "Good, good."
"How did our take go?" Jiang Pan Die asked earnestly.
"Haha, it went great, the atmosphere was perfectly controlled, especially your crying, we all felt a tug at our hearts. I couldn’t believe you’ve only done two films before?"
"And a few music videos." Jiang Pan Die answered with a smile, then asked, "How did Lin Tian do?"
"I thought it was excellent." Bai Shishi spoke first, "His voice was healing, appearing in such a heartfelt scene felt very warm. Especially when Lin Tian lifted Miss Jiang, he had the aura of a domineering CEO that was really appealing."
After finishing, Bai Shishi glanced at Lin Tian, seemingly with admiration.
Lin Tian rubbed his nose, chuckled awkwardly, but didn’t dare to speak. Was that a compliment? It seemed like jealousy indeed.
Yu Qianming didn’t notice the little rivalry between them and continued, "I agree with Mr. Bai, he perfectly expressed my thoughts. This take was better than I expected!"
Yu Qianming initially thought Jiang Pan Die had some experience, but Lin Tian was a complete newcomer. He assumed their joint scenes would be troublesome, yet the outcome was surprisingly good. Though the acting couldn’t compare to veteran actors, it surpassed many young stars.
Lin Tian laughed modestly, "Perhaps the dim lighting helped. I feel there are still many areas I need to improve."
"That’s humility." Mr. Yu said with a laugh, "To truly know how you did, come and watch the playback."
Lin Tian and Jiang Pan Die approached the monitor, attentively reviewing the previous scene, and indeed, it was quite good. At least Lin Tian felt there were no glaring issues.
"Alright, there’s only one scene left, after filming I’ll treat everyone to a big meal!"
Yu Qianming addressed the entire crew loudly, emphasizing the words ’big meal’ particularly enthusiastically.
"Great!"
Suddenly, the whole crew was energized, applauding and cheering, their enthusiasm for work far exceeding earlier levels.
