Chapter 55: 3rd Grade
’This is bullshit!’
Chu Fang yelled inside his head as he sat in a third-grade classroom.
Around him, children ran around screaming, laughing, and generally causing chaos.
To everyone else, it was a normal classroom.
To Chu Fang, it was psychological warfare.
A vein twitched on his forehead.
[Host, don’t worry.]
[With your superior intelligence, you’ll be able to skip straight to college!]
[However...]
The system suddenly paused.
’However what?’
[Your sister teaches this class.]
Chu Fang’s eyes widened.
’Really?’
[Yes, Host.]
[This is her first year as a teacher.]
A huge smile appeared on Chu Fang’s face.
’Then I’ll be staying here for a while.’
"Hey, do you wanna be my friend?"
A chubby boy beside him asked while picking his nose.
Chu Fang looked at the booger.
Then at the boy.
Then back at the booger.
"Ew, no."
He immediately dragged his desk farther away.
The boy looked heartbroken.
’This is going to be a long year...’ Chu Fang thought.
At that moment, the classroom door opened.
The noisy room instantly quieted down.
Chu Luoshen walked inside.
Her green hair was tied into a neat bun.
A pair of glasses rested on her nose.
She wore a professional teacher’s outfit that made her look mature and reliable.
Her emerald-green eyes scanned the classroom.
"Good morning, class."
"GOOD MORNING, TEACHER!"
Every child immediately stood up and greeted her.
Chu Fang joined in.
Chu Luoshen smiled warmly.
"Please sit down."
The children obeyed.
She turned around and wrote her name neatly on the board.
"Chu Luoshen. This is my name." I’ll be your teacher this year, so let’s all get along."
"Yes, Teacher!"
The class responded enthusiastically.
Chu Luoshen’s gaze drifted toward her little brother.
A tiny smile appeared on her lips.
She gave him a small wave.
Chu Fang instantly waved back.
Completely mesmerized.
[Those thighs...]
Chu Luoshen suddenly paused.
For a split second, she could have sworn she heard her little brother’s voice.
But that was impossible.
She quickly dismissed the thought and continued teaching.
The morning passed quickly.
Eventually, lunchtime arrived.
The children excitedly opened their lunch boxes and started eating.
Some traded snacks.
Some compared desserts.
Others simply shoved food into their mouths.
Chu Luoshen remained at her desk.
She opened her own lunch while keeping an eye on the classroom.
After all, elementary school children had a shocking talent for nearly choking themselves.
Seeing his chance, Chu Fang immediately grabbed a chair and dragged it over.
His goal was obvious.
Lunch with big sister.
Just as he sat down beside her, Chu Luoshen’s phone buzzed.
She glanced down.
The sender was Chu Zijin.
Attached was a message.
"Big Sister! I finally released a song!"
"Listen to it!"
Chu Luoshen smiled.
Then she opened the message.
"Who are you texting?"
Chu Fang asked curiously.
Chu Luoshen looked down at him.
"Little Fang! It’s your sister, Chu Zijin. She released a new song today. Want to hear it?"
Chu Fang’s eyes lit up immediately.
"Of course I do!"
Chu Luoshen chuckled.
Then she pressed play.
A few moments later...
The music began.
Instantly, both Chu Luoshen and Chu Fang were drawn into the song.
The classroom gradually became quieter and quieter.
Even nearby students stopped eating and turned toward the phone.
The melody filled the room.
The emotions behind the lyrics felt real.
Beautiful.
Bittersweet.
Before anyone realized it, the song had ended.
For several seconds, nobody spoke.
Then everyone slowly snapped back to reality.
A little girl in the front row even had tears in her eyes.
"Teacher... that song was really good..."
Chu Luoshen smiled.
"It really was."
She immediately grabbed her phone and started typing.
——————
Chu Luoshen: This is amazing!!!
Chu Luoshen: Seriously, this is the best song I’ve ever heard!
Chu Luoshen: How did you even make this!?
——————
After sending the messages, she looked toward her little brother.
"Wasn’t that a great song?"
Chu Fang gave a reluctant nod.
"It was perfect..."
Then his eyes narrowed.
"But who was the male singer?"
Jealousy appeared in his heart.
That should’ve been him.
He should’ve been the one singing with his big sister.
Not some random guy.
"Hmm..."
Chu Luoshen looked at the song’s information.
A moment later her eyes widened.
"Oh!"
"What?"
Chu Fang immediately became alert.
Chu Luoshen pointed at the screen.
"Shen Tian. That’s the singer."
She blinked.
"Wait... This is the young man your sister has been constantly texting us about."
The smile on Chu Fang’s face slowly disappeared.
"Huh...?"
His neck moved stiffly.
Very stiffly.
"What do you mean... constantly texting us about?"
A dangerous twitch appeared in one of his eyes.
Chu Luoshen didn’t notice.
Instead, she smiled and rested her chin on her hand.
"Your sister is completely obsessed with him. Every hour it’s Shen Tian this. Shen Tian that. Yesterday she sent twenty-three messages about him."
Chu Fang’s eye twitched harder.
Twenty-three?
Twenty-three!?
Chu Luoshen giggled.
"Honestly, it’s even making me blush sometimes when she talks about him."
The classroom suddenly became colder.
Several students looked around in confusion.
Chu Fang sat completely frozen in his chair.
His lunch suddenly didn’t taste very good anymore.
"It wasn’t that good of a song."
Chu Fang immediately did a complete one hundred eighty degree turn.
Just moments ago, he had been completely mesmerized.
Now?
It was suddenly "not that good."
The classroom stared at him.
Even Chu Luoshen looked unconvinced.
After all, they had all listened to the exact same song.
It was easily one of the greatest songs they had ever heard.
One little girl immediately protested.
"It was amazing!"
Another student nodded.
"Yeah! I liked it! I wanna listen to it again!"
Chu Fang nearly coughed up blood.
Dumb children!
All of them!
Chu Luoshen sighed.
She was about to lightly bop her little brother on the head for his horrible taste in music.
But before she could, lunch ended.
She stood up and clapped her hands together.
"Alright, everyone. Back to your seats. Let’s finish today’s lesson."
"Yes, Teacher!"
The students immediately returned to their desks.
All except Chu Fang.
Who looked like he was one bad comment away from punching the nearest wall.
He slowly sat back down.
[I need to start showing off soon...]
His eyes narrowed.
[I just need the right opportunity]
Chu Fang clenched his tiny fist.
His plan had originally been simple.
Grow up.
Become successful.
Slowly conquer the hearts of his sisters.
Now some random guy named Shen Tian had appeared out of nowhere.
Not only was he handsome.
Not only could he sing.
But apparently Chu Zijin was already obsessed with him.
This was unacceptable.
Absolutely unacceptable.
[I need to hurry.]
[I need to become famous.]
[I need to show everyone how amazing I am!]
Chu Luoshen paused for a moment.
That voice again.
The exact same voice she had heard earlier.
She slowly turned her head and glanced toward her little brother.
Chu Fang was sitting quietly at his desk.
Looking completely innocent.
For a brief moment, Chu Luoshen narrowed her eyes suspiciously.
Then she shook her head.
’I’m hearing things.’
She turned back toward the chalkboard and continued writing.
’I really need more coffee...’
