Chapter 11: Appearance of a Supposedly New Student
-----
After Adrian left the cafeteria, a set of men and women dressed in a neat white uniform pulled up to the cafeteria with stretchers that floated in the air.
They were part of the academy’s medical team.
While they worked, strapping the three injured students to each stretcher, one of the Doctors who decided to check on Theon’s wound questioned him on what had occurred.
Even though it seemed like the doctor had come with pure intentions, Theon still couldn’t trust any of the academy’s personnel.
So he simply put down a statement that it was nothing more than a disagreement between students that escalated too far.
The Doctor seemed hesitant to believe at first, but nothing about what Theon had said seemed to contradict the current predicament so she simply sighed and told him to be more careful before walking away with the rest of the medical team.
Theon didn’t bother staying behind any longer either, so he simply just left the cafeteria.
Right now, he was walking through the hallways of the academic division of the school. He could see multiple students displaying their abilities.
Some would fly to class, others where incredibly quick and most had elemental abilities like water, earth and many more.
There were also those who seemed to have the ability to control the technological devices around them.
All these made the hallway more lively and colorful.
Theon walked calmly, hands in his pockets but his mind was in complete disarray.
That confrontation had exposed a lot to Theon. Adrian— was a big problem. Not just him, but Brook and Reacher as well.
The three of them were incredibly powerful. Worst part of it all, was that all three of them were year two students meaning they had each gone far in their training.
Far enough to completely understand their abilities.
While Theon, well, he hadn’t even tested the capabilities of what each of his abilities.
Luckily he had already planned out his schedule for the day. He was supposed to have three classes today, and the academy had made it mandatory that each student attended at least one class a day.
He had already missed two days of lectures since he died. The other two lectures though, he would skip them and go to the training facilities instead.
From there, he would test his abilities before going to see Adrian at the end of the school day.
What was going to happen after he met Adrian? He didn’t know yet, but one thing was for sure. He was going to get his answers.
Before long, he finally reached the door of his lecture hall. It was a large metallic door, with a floating glowing pad beside it.
Above the door was the name of the name of the lecture hall, written boldly. ’Ashborne Hall 1A’.
Theon sighed, then smiled lightly. The architecture of the academy was truly a marvel.
They separated the students to different lecture halls based on their essence purity.
Gray purity students had their lectures in the Ashborne hall which was located at the lower sections of the academy. It was clear that the academy held complete disregard for such students.
Silver purity students had their lectures in the Ironveil hall. It was located at the center of the academy. That was also where Lucius and Reed had their classes.
The Solaris hall, also located at the center of the school, except it was a more elevated and luxurious building. That was were gold purity students had their lectures.
And finally, the Empyrean hall— which stood far above the academy, floating beyond the clouds. Meant for the truly esteemed divine purity students.
Each Hall differed from each other, not just from the structure of the buildings, but from the facilities each of them had.
The Ashborne was the lowest, and so it had the least number of facilities as well as low-grade quality equipment. Everything got better with each Hall.
Of course a student could move to different halls as long as they were able to meet the specifications.
As for those in the Ashborne hall, they could only move up to the Ironveil, but that was only if their resonance core was able to reach D rank.
Theon drew in a deep breath before placing his palm on the floating pad. His palm was scanned and the pad glowed green, before it slid open slowly.
Theon immediately stepped in immediately the door opened.
The lecture hall was large. It resembled a miniature indoor arena with multiple rows of white cushioned seats rising in layered tiers toward the far end of the room.
Sleek metallic railings separated each section neatly, giving the entire hall a grand and sophisticated atmosphere large enough to contain up to a hundred students.
The rampant noise made by the students within seemed to bounce of the polished white walls giving the room a lively atmosphere.
But that all seemed to seize the moment Theon walked in. All eyes faced his direction. The hall became so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.
Theon observed the crowd for nothing more than a second, before quietly walking over to his seat which was at the far end of the hall
All eyes followed him quietly as he climbed the stairs, before taking his seat quietly.
Then suddenly— a wave of whispers erupted. Most shocked, others curious.
"Oh my Gosh!! He’s so handsome. I’ve never seen him before" a female student whispered, her face slightly rosy as she constantly sneaked peaks at Theon.
"I’ve never seen him before either." Another student replied.
"The real question you should be asking, is why he is seated at that loser’s seat?"
"I mean, he has been absent for the past two days. Maybe he ran away and this is his replacement."
The whispers became louder and louder, and the ideas coming from the students seemed to grow more off-point.
None of them had even come to the conclusion that the dashing, golden-haired student was actually Theon.
Of course, some of the students— most especially the females developed the courage to approach Theon, but they all turned back the moment they got near him.
One cold glance was all it took to scare them away.
But of course, they were always the bravely stupid ones.
"Hey!" One student male student without a single strand of hair on his head walked toward Theon with a vein popping on his head.
"Who the hell do you think you are, marching into our hall without saying a single word."
Theon ignored him, lost in his own world.
"I said, who are you?" The bald student reached out and grabbed Theon’s shoulder.
Theon’s bright golden eyes sharply turned towards the bald student, then he said coldly. "I advice you to let go of me— before things get out of hand."
Theon’s eyes gleamed, and a sudden jolt of electricity ran through the bald student’s body causing his arm to snap backwards.
He stared at Theon with a shaky gaze before walking away while rubbing his numb hand.
The rest of the students saw this and instinctively took this as a sign to stay away.
After about thirty minutes of waiting, the door of the lecture hall opened and a woman with long white hair tied in a pony tail walked in.
She had bright blue eyes, and wore a black dress with golden design which offered both grace and enough room for movement as well.
Her strides were confident as she walked her way up to the center of the room.
"Good morning students," she said calmly, her voice as soft and beautiful as her general look. "I’m sorry for the wait, I was caught up with a meeting."
"We’re already behind schedule, so let’s start with the attendance for today." She continued softly. "If I call your name, as usual, tap the button beside your chair."
"Rose Monroe!" She called the first name and immediately after, a green light lit up under the seat of a red haired student, before a soft chime was heard.
After that she began calling other student’s names and each time a name was called out, their seat would glow green and the chime would be heard.
The same pattern continued, until finally—
"Theon Grey!"
Silence.
The teacher sighed, and was just about to tick absent on her tab when a soft chime was heard causing all heads to turn in the direction of the sound.
And there it was. Right below the golden-haired student, the edges of his white polished seat glowed a bright green color.
All eyes widened and mouths were left agape.
"WHAT!!?" The students exclaimed simultaneously
