Chapter 1752: Chapter 940: Discussions at the Banquet (Part 2)

Liu Qian didn’t waste time and replied, "We are now at a standstill with the Court, and we desperately need the support of the Six Great Sects. I wonder if Brother Lin has any way to help us gather the various sects, so that we can achieve our wish to unify the world sooner."

After Liu Qian spoke, he looked at Lin Feng sincerely, as if this matter was extremely important to him. Since he had helped Lin Feng find Su Liqian, it was considered a substantial favor to Lin Feng. At this moment, with Su Liqian still in Liu Qian’s hands, Lin Feng dared not voice even a word of disagreement.

Lin Feng replied, "The people of the Six Great Sects belong to the Righteous Path. Loyalty to the emperor and protection of the nation are their true intentions; how could they harbor rebellious thoughts?" This was actually to convey to Liu Qian that the best place for the Six Great Sects was neutrality, not siding with any faction in your power struggle.

If the Six Great Sects become tools in the struggle for power, then what Righteous Path is left in the world, and what simplicity could remain?

However, Liu Qian didn’t understand, because at this moment, he was only eager to help his father achieve great things, which felt a bit hasty.

He stood up and said to Lin Feng, "Now the world is losing its moral equilibrium, endemic corruption; what is the use of such foolish loyalty?"

Lin Feng understood his meaning but still needed to clarify, "The Six Great Sects are the Righteous Path; how could they become tools for power struggle."

The reason Liu Qian came here to seek Lin Feng’s help was because he fully recognized Lin Feng’s identity, knowing that Lin Feng had saved numerous elders and masters of the Six Great Sects in Peace City. Hence, seeking his aid was a wise choice.

But Lin Feng seemed unwilling to help, looking at Liu Qian with a hint of displeasure, yet the Giant Wood Clan owed him a tremendous favor, one that must be repaid.

So Lin Feng added, "The Six Great Sects are about to unite and will choose an Alliance Hierarch. Though I may lack talent, I happen to qualify to participate in the election. If elected, I promise to keep the sects neutral, not aiding the Court. Would this be satisfactory?"

Lin Feng’s words were reasonable too, as the current Court was indeed corrupt and if the Six Great Sects kept blind loyalty, they would surely vanish.

The Yunzhou Marquis rises for the greater good, and as people of the Righteous Path, hindering it would be unwise since who sits as the Emperor isn’t as important as who can bring fortune to the people and end wars.

For the safety of the Six Great Sects, Lin Feng decided to shoulder this responsibility.

Though Liu Qian felt a bit dissatisfied, he still nodded. Making the Six Great Sects aid him was nearly a luxury, but ensuring they don’t pledge to the Court was a guarantee for the Yunzhou Marquis’s forces.

Liu Qian now had to mobilize the Marquis Manor’s forces, resorting to all means to help Lin Feng achieve the position of Alliance Hierarch. Because if a Court loyalist became the Alliance Hierarch commanding everyone to side with the Court, it would be truly unfavorable to him.

At this point, Lin Feng had to become Alliance Hierarch, like it or not.

Liu Qian offered Lin Feng a toast and said, "I hope you keep your word, thus honoring our brotherly bond."

After satisfying their hunger and thirst, Lin Feng was initially supposed to go with Liu Qian to meet Su Liqian, but unexpectedly, as soon as they left the tavern, Fat Uncle came looking for him.

Fat Uncle was the Sect Leader of the Illusion Sound Pavilion, coming here with an urgent matter.

Lin Feng had to bid farewell to Liu Qian at the door, saying, "Forgive me, Princely Heir, I’ll just go talk with a friend and will be right back."

Liu Qian nodded and got into the carriage. When Fat Uncle arrived, he had greeted Liu Qian, indicating they seemed to have known each other long before.

Lin Feng and Fat Uncle stood aside, where Lin Feng asked, "What’s the matter?"

Fat Uncle didn’t bother to withhold information, directly saying to Lin Feng, "I’ve already found out my wife’s whereabouts, a few days ago she was at the Yunzhou Marquis’s manor."

Lin Feng already knew this, so he replied, "Earlier, the Princely Heir already told me, asking me to convince the Six Great Sects to oppose the Court, which I refused, although I temporarily agreed to his request to run for Alliance Hierarch since Qian’er is in their hands."

Fat Uncle nodded and said, "Don’t worry, the position of Alliance Hierarch is always yours among the six; I’ll fully support you to become this Alliance Hierarch."

Despite Fat Uncle’s assurance, Lin Feng seemed indifferent, as he didn’t want to be Alliance Hierarch; his agreement to run was purely to meet Su Liqian.

Lin Feng softly said, "You just have to let me join the election, but whatever you do, make sure I’m not elected as Alliance Hierarch; I’m entering willy-nilly."

These power struggles are what Lin Feng detests, and the position of Alliance Hierarch is a hot potato that no one wants to touch.

Fat Uncle appeared disappointed but knew that since Lin Feng agreed to run, things could progress slowly.

Fat Uncle didn’t really understand what Lin Feng had in mind, but he knew Lin Feng was someone who could lead people towards hope, so to him, Lin Feng was the best choice for the future of the Six Great Sects.

Fat Uncle nodded at Lin Feng and continued, "Let’s leave it here; there’s another crucial matter for which you need to come with me immediately."

Lin Feng was puzzled, as he couldn’t think of anything more important than seeing Su Liqian, asking perplexedly, "What matter?"

Fat Uncle lowered his voice, saying, "Just follow me; this isn’t the right place to talk."

Since it was insisted, Lin Feng had no choice but to agree.

"I’ll first inform the Princely Heir and then join you," Lin Feng said, turning towards Liu Qian’s location after speaking.

At that moment, Liu Qian was seated in the carriage and said, "Princely Heir, I have an urgent matter to deal with; once I’ve handled it, I’ll go to meet Qian’er."

Liu Qian nodded and told Lin Feng, "Alright, don’t worry, Su Liqian is perfectly safe with me."

Lin Feng was obviously not worried about Su Liqian’s safety; Liu Qian’s character was trustworthy, considering him a gentleman of integrity.

"Then we’ll see each other in Yunzhou; this is our manor’s token; with it, you’ll have free passage in Yunzhou." Liu Qian handed his token to Lin Feng.

Lin Feng took the token and looked at it; he saw the large characters "Yunzhou Marquis Manor" inscribed on the golden token, indicating it’s made of gold, imparting a warm impression.

"Princely Heir, travel safely; should I change dates, I’d certainly visit your manor to express gratitude."

After speaking, Lin Feng saluted Liu Qian, who then entered his carriage before the coachman drove the horse-drawn setup away.

With Liu Qian’s departure, Fat Uncle approached from the side.

He urgently said to Lin Feng, "Let’s go."

Fat Uncle and Lin Feng arrived at the doorstep of a residence, one Lin Feng had visited before.

On that day, Lin Feng had even enjoyed a cup of tea here, now standing at the location seemingly recalling the past events.

Lin Feng stopped at the entrance, while Fat Uncle, seeing Lin Feng halt, asked, "Not joining me inside?"

Lin Feng calmly replied, "Before entering, tell me who resides here?"

Fat Uncle chuckled, "Her Highness the Princess." He said, smiling.

Lin Feng felt a little abrupt and asked, "What is this! The Six Great Sects have no role in Court disputes; do you plan to lead them to peril?"

Fat Uncle, sensing Lin Feng’s urgency, explained, "Her Highness is part of the Heaven Alliance. She doesn’t represent the Court but herself at this moment." After speaking, Fat Uncle genuinely looked at Lin Feng.

Upon hearing his words, Lin Feng realized that Fat Uncle was a kind-hearted individual with no sinister plans, thus relaxing a bit.
