Chapter 71: Chapter 71: Spun Her Like a Feather

Stepping into the open space, Azriel caught the pulse of the drumbeat.

Thanks to his razor-sharp physical control and the dance skill from previous life, rhythm was second nature to him.

He didn’t follow the rigid, traditional steps of the realm.

Instead, he moved with a smooth, effortless, and explosive style, combining sharp, rhythmic isolation, liquid fluid transitions, and confident footwork that matched the fast tempo of the mana-flute perfectly.

The tavern went quiet for a brief beat before whispers erupted.

The surrounding dancers slowed their steps, their eyes widening in utter shock.

In a world where males were expected to follow quietly, Azriel was commanding the entire room with sheer presence, agility, and magnetic charm.

Several women at nearby tables leaned forward, staring in spellbound amazement.

From her corner booth, Rosalind watched him.

Seeing him dance with such pure, uninhibited joy, completely unbothered by the stares around him, her heart gave a heavy, sudden thud.

The remaining traces of her noble stiffness evaporated.

Setting the plush chimera carefully on her seat, Rosalind got up.

She walked onto the dance floor, the crowd naturally parting for her striking presence.

She stepped right into Azriel’s space, her green eyes locking onto his blue ones with a soft, challenging smile.

Normally, societal rules dictated she take the lead.

But as Rosalind reached out, Azriel didn’t hesitate. He smoothly grabbed her hand, slid his other arm firmly around her waist, and spun her straight into his rhythm, taking complete and absolute control of the dance.

Rosalind let out a breathless, startled gasp that instantly turned into a bright, genuine laugh.

She let him guide her, her feet effortlessly catching his tempo as he spun her, dipped her low, and pulled her flush against his chest, sweeping her through the rhythm in front of the stunned, cheering tavern crowd.

The tavern erupted into wild cheers and rhythmic clapping as the local patrons banged their wooden mugs against the tables to match the tempo.

Rosalind’s black cat ears fluttered with adrenaline, her emerald eyes fixed entirely on Azriel.

She had spent her entire life stepping into every room as the authority figure, the one who took charge, commanded armies, and carried the crushing weight of leadership.

But here, swept up in his grip, spun effortlessly through the warm lantern light, she didn’t have to lead at all. She simply let go and let him steer.

Every sharp turn, every dip, and every press of his hand against her waist sent a thrilling jolt straight through her chest.

[LIVE CHAT]

[Sadistic69] (Red): HE TOOK THE LEAD! IN A ROOM FULL OF FEMALE-LED DANCERS, HE LITERALLY SPUN HER LIKE A FEATHER!

[Nine_Tailed_Vixen] (Cyan): Look at Rosalind’s face! She isn’t even trying to assert dominance, she’s completely entranced! Look at her tail wrapping around his thigh mid-spin!

[Lusty_Sera] (Golden): The way he dipped her low and brought her back up flush against his chest... the sexual tension in this tavern is off the absolute charts!

[Moon_Priestess_99] (Cyan):"KING! ABSOLUTE KING ENERGY! He didn’t just break their cultural norms, he made it look like poetry!

[Crimson_Fury] (Cyan): ...I hate to admit it, but his movement execution was flawless. Whatever, he still got lucky.

[Boundless_Slacker] (Red): @Crimson_Fury COPING IN REAL TIME HAHAHA! Just admit he cooked, sis!

As the music built toward its fast, chaotic finale, the band hit a roaring final chord.

Azriel pulled Rosalind sharply toward him, dipping her low over his knee before pulling her back up in one fluid motion, bringing her chest flush against his, their breath mingling in the heated air.

The tavern broke out into deafening applause and whistles.

Rosalind, slightly breathless, her cheeks glowing with a rich, radiant flush, looked up into his striking blue-illusion eyes.

A soft, breathless laugh escaped her lips as she rested her hands against his broad shoulders.

"You really enjoy turning every rule in this world upside down, don’t you?" she whispered, her voice laced with deep affection.

Azriel smirked down at her, his grip on her waist remaining comfortably firm as he leaned down, his lips brushing against her shell-pink feline ear.

"Only when it means getting to spin you around, Rose."

Rosalind’s tail twitched happily, coiling loosely around his leg.

"Come on," she murmured, taking his hand and lacing her fingers through his as she pulled him toward their booth to grab her giant plush chimera.

"Before the local women start trying to buy you a drink."

They paid the innkeeper, stepped back out into the cool, star-lit night, and walked hand-in-hand toward where the Phantom-V was parked.

The bustling noise of the lower market was winding down into a peaceful, amber-hued twilight, the glowing floating lanterns reflecting off the central canal’s quiet waters.

As they reached the sleek white vehicle, Rosalind tapped her illusion bracelet, deactivating the rune spell.

The illusion shimmered and dissolved, her glossy black hair returning to its pristine silver-white, her eyes shifting back to brilliant, regal gold, and her feline ears turning stark snow-white.

Azriel tapped his own illusion band, deactivating the spell.

In a brief shimmer of light, his brown hair returned to its natural raven black, and his eyes shifted back to their piercing, familiar violet.

As Rosalind looked up at his true form, a sudden, fierce heat flared in her golden eyes.

Without a word, she closed the distance between them, pushing him back firmly against the hood of the Phantom-V and locking her lips onto his in a hungry, passionate kiss.

Azriel didn’t hesitate, responding instantly as he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her flush against his chest as they drank each other in under the starlight.

When they finally pulled apart, both breathing heavily, Azriel looked down at her with a crooked, possessive smirk.

His hand slid down past her waist, casually giving her soft curve a firm, deliberate squeeze, an affectionate boundary he had thoroughly earned over the past two weeks, one that Rosalind no longer even flinched at.

"So," Azriel murmured, his deep voice vibrating against her lips.

"Do we do this right here on the hood, or do we make it back to the mansion first?"

Rosalind’s feline ears twitched as a burning blush dusted her cheeks, though she tried her best to shoot him an unimpressed side-eye.

"I am not nearly as shameless as a certain someone."

Azriel laughed softly, looking up at the clear, starry sky.

"Yeah... a certain someone."

Stepping back, Azriel popped the gull-wing door and slid smoothly into the driver’s seat.

Rosalind settled into the passenger side right beside him, cradling her oversized plush chimera against her chest.

With a quick tap of the console, the Phantom-V’s gravity rings hummed to life.

The sleek white coupe lifted off the stone, turned smoothly, and shot down the open highway, gliding through the peaceful night toward the distant silhouette of the estate.
