Chapter 2667: Chapter 2667: Are You Happy to See Me?
"Who are you, and what is your purpose here?"
Carson Flores casually displayed his Token: "Carson Flores, Disciple of the Battle Hall from the Myriad Immortals Palace, here on official duty in the Southern Wilderness. I sensed the presence of an old friend, so I came to visit. Please inform your superiors."
The disciples guarding the mountain gate were initially somewhat arrogant, but upon seeing the Token, their attitude shifted to one of enthusiasm and respect.
"Mr. Flores, please wait a moment, I’ll report this right away."
One disciple dashed off to get the message across, while the remaining disciples cautiously accompanied him. Carson naturally asked, "What is the name of your Sect?"
Since Carson said he was passing through and felt the aura of an old friend, he didn’t know the Sect’s name, so the gatekeeping disciples had no suspicion.
The Immortal Realm is vast, with countless Sects. Who could know them all?
"We are the Illusory Snake Sect, a Sect with an ancient history..."
The gatekeeping disciple gave a detailed introduction, and Carson got a general understanding of the situation.
Illusory Snake Sect is one of the oldest Immortal Sects in the Southern Wilderness. Many other Immortal Sects have faded into the river of time, but the Illusory Snake Sect has persisted. However, with the changing eras, the Illusory Snake Sect hasn’t developed and grown stronger; instead, it has gradually weakened.
Fortunately, the Illusory Snake Sect possesses an Ancient Inheritance. Although the number of disciples has been decreasing, within the Sect is a Peak Great Land Prime Immortal to hold the fort, and the Combat Power is also strong. Coupled with their long history, their status is extraordinary, giving them a place in the Southern Wilderness.
The Illusory Snake Sect does not belong to the Myriad Immortals Palace, nor is it one of the Twelve Immortal Kings, or even an Immortal Monarch.
How should I put it?
The Illusory Snake Sect is like someone who has roamed the world for a lifetime, full of experience, full of reputation. While their strength can’t match up to the rising stars, out of respect for their seniority, unless absolutely necessary, others are still willing to give them some face.
Samir Coffey joined the Illusory Snake Sect?
If it were someone else, Carson might not think twice, but knowing Samir Coffey, every step he takes has a purpose, with a unique intention. This made Carson ponder a bit more.
With Samir Coffey’s skills and methods, it shouldn’t be a problem for him to join an Immortal Monarch’s force or one of the Twelve Immortal Gates. Why did he join the Illusory Snake Sect? What’s the reason?
The Ancient Inheritance of the Illusory Snake Sect?
As Carson was lost in thought, a well-dressed middle-aged man emerged from the mountain gate, cupping his hands in greeting from afar towards Carson.
"A distinguished guest has arrived, forgive me for not welcoming you from afar. Please, do not mind."
Carson smiled and said, "Fellow Daoist, you are too kind. I was merely passing by and felt the aura of an old friend, so I ventured here. I hope you don’t find my visit abrupt."
The middle-aged man laughed heartily: "The disciples of the Battle Hall from the Myriad Immortals Palace are all outstanding talents with limitless prospects. To visit our Sect indeed makes you an honored guest; there’s nothing abrupt about it at all... I am Elder Roderic Tate of the Illusory Snake Sect, Mr. Flores, please!"
Accompanied by Roderic Tate, Carson entered the mountain gate and headed towards the main hall within the Sect.
Upon entering the grand hall, in the spacious reception room, a Maiden served Immortal Tea and fruits. After some polite exchanges, Roderic Tate finally asked, "Mr. Flores mentioned sensing the aura of an old friend. May I know which old friend you are referring to?"
Carson smiled and said, "I was just about to inquire with Elder Tate. His name is Samir Coffey, and he should have joined your esteemed Sect within the last few decades. His strength is approximately at the Peak Heavenly Immortal level or perhaps slightly above the Great Land Supreme."
Roderic Tate stared at Carson, his expression slightly solemn: "Such a person does exist. When he joined, he had just reached the Great Land... Are you friends with him, Mr. Flores?"
While Carson referred to him as an old friend, the meaning of those words could be manifold.
He could be a dear friend or family or perhaps a sworn enemy!
Given Carson’s sensitive identity, Roderic Tate decided to probe further before determining his stance.
Carson smiled and said, "Elder Tate, there’s no need to worry. When I say old friend, I mean it in the literal sense. We are old friends."
Roderic Tate breathed a sigh of relief, smiling: "That’s good to hear. I will have someone summon him to come here."
Carson agreed readily: "Alright!"
Roderic Tate cast a spell, transforming it into a Golden Light that shot out of the hall.
"Mr. Flores, he will be here shortly. Please, have some tea, have some tea..."
As Carson sipped his tea and chatted casually with Roderic Tate, Roderic Tate mentioned the Myriad Immortals Palace. Carson, trying not to speak loosely, said he had previously participated in the selection for the Immortal Conference to become an Immortal Hall Disciple. Due to his rapid rise in strength, he was eventually picked by the Battle Hall to become a Battle Hall Disciple.
Carson deliberately mentioned Kaethor Jandric to make the story more credible. When he encountered matters he wasn’t aware of, Carson simply said he was new and not quite familiar yet, or that matters within the Sect were not suitable to disclose.
Roderic Tate had no doubts about Carson because the Token from the Myriad Immortals Palace couldn’t be faked.
The sound of footsteps approached, and Carson turned his head to see a familiar figure step into the hall.
"Uncle Tate, did you summon me?"
Samir Coffey first greeted Roderic Tate, then turned to Carson. Upon seeing him, his eyes widened, taking a deep breath.
"Carson! How are you here?"
