Chapter 167: Vampire Prince

"I am planning to kill the Vampire Prince... and I need your help."

Hearing Luke’s nonchalant attitude paired with such serious words, Cael [Wind clone] was startled. His eyes widened in disbelief.

He had never expected Luke to say those words at all.

Without waiting for another word, Cael stood up from his seat.

"Let’s discuss this somewhere else."

Luke nodded and did not object. They walked slowly toward Cael’s dorm room, both of them silent on the way.

The hallway was empty, the evening light casting long shadows across the floor.

They both entered the dorm room. The door clicked shut behind them.

Inside Cael’s room, they sat opposite each other.

Cael spoke first,

"Do you even know what you are saying?"

Luke nodded his head and said,

"I know. I want to... no, I will kill the Vampire Prince."

Cael’s violet eyes met Luke’s crimson ones. They stared into each other for a long moment, neither backing down.

Cael let out a sigh and asked,

"Tell me, what is the rank of the Vampire Prince?"

Luke fell silent for a moment before saying,

"He recently advanced into [Mythril 1]."

Hearing that, Cael shook his head and said,

"You are not thinking straight. You want to kill a [Mythril] ranker with your [Platinum] rank? That is a two whole rank difference. Not to mention, the [Mythril] rank is a qualitative breakthrough."

His voice turned serious as he continued.

"As you know, a low-stage ranker can never beat a [Gold], and a middle-stage ranker can never beat a [Mythril] unless they gang up on the opponent."

Cael felt a twinge of embarrassment as he said those words. He had killed a [Gold] ranker as a [Silver 1] ranker. Not just [Gold], he had even killed [Diamond] rankers as a [Silver 3].

But that was not the point. He needed to draw information from Luke. That was the reason he was acting negatively toward him.

Luke leaned forward, his crimson eyes fixed on Cael, then he said,

"I have a way to deal with the Vampire Prince, but I need your help."

Cael narrowed his eyes and asked,

"What do you need me to do?"

Hearing that, Luke paused, then he shook his head as he said,

"I will tell you the full plan when we meet with someone else. For now, prepare to leave the academy. Be ready by tomorrow."

Before Cael could ask more questions, Luke stood up and walked toward the door. He paused with his hand on the handle and looked back.

"Trust me, Cael. I know what I am doing."

Then he left. The door clicked shut behind him.

Cael sat in silence for a long moment, staring at the closed door. Then he stood up and walked into the bedroom.

He fell onto the bed, his arms behind his head, staring at the ceiling.

His mind was racing.

’If I recall correctly, in the original story, the one who bewitched Caelir was none other than the Vampire Prince.’

The thought settled into his mind like a stone dropping into still water. He had a chance to kill the Vampire Prince now, without even telling the main body.

It was an opportunity he could not ignore.

He tried to reach out to the main body through their connection, but the link was blurred. Faint. Unresponsive. The realm was blocking his messages.

’Damn it.’

As the Wind clone was thinking, a voice suddenly asked,

"What are you thinking so seriously?"

Wind clone turned his head. A gray-haired boy was standing in the doorway; it was Space Clone. He had been watching from the shadows.

Cael sat up in bed and answered,

"Luke wants to kill the Vampire Prince. He asked for my help."

Space Clone raised an eyebrow and asked,

"And what did you say?"

"I said I would think about it."

Cael paused and added,

"But there is something else. How did Luke get entangled with the Vampire Prince? Why does he want to kill him so badly?"

Space Clone shrugged and answered,

"No clue. But you do know that Luke is different from the Luke in the story, right?"

Cael nodded. "I know."

He stood up from the bed, his expression thoughtful.

"I think Luke is a transmigrator. Just like the main body."

Space Clone said nothing. The silence between them was heavy.

...

Meanwhile, in Karyal City.

Luke walked into a rental hotel. He entered a room on the top floor and walked toward the window, staring down at the city below. The lights of the city flickered in the darkness, scattered like stars.

He waited.

The door opened behind him. Someone entered the room.

She had pure white hair and gray eyes. It was Lysanthra Mara. Once known as Kira Crimson.

Lysa walked beside Luke and stared down at the city as well.

"So," she asked,

"How are the preparations?"

Luke did not turn his head as he said,

"Almost done. Within three days, we will strike."

Lysa nodded. Then, as if thinking of something, she asked,

"What about Caelir?"

Hearing his brother’s name, Luke finally turned his head and replied,

"He is hiding something. But nothing serious. He is under her care."

Lysa raised an eyebrow and pressed,

"Her?"

Luke shook his head and said nothing.

Lysa sighed and turned back toward the door. She paused for a moment, as if she wanted to say something more. But she did not.

She left the room, the door clicking shut behind her.

Luke turned his head back to the window and muttered,

"I won’t make those mistakes twice."

...

Meanwhile, back at the academy.

Cael walked toward the vice principal’s office. He knocked on the door.

"Come in," Seraphina’s voice came from inside.

Cael walked in. Seraphina was sitting behind her desk, buried in paperwork. She did not look up.

"What is it?"

Cael inwardly grunted and said,

"I need to leave for five days."

Seraphina’s eyes remained on the paperwork.

"Rejected. Anything else?"

Cael stood there, waiting for her to look up. She did not.

He sighed and pressed,

"It’s important."

She finally lifted her head. Her amber eyes were tired, but sharp.

"Every time you go outside, it ends up being a disaster. So, no. You are not leaving. The Grand Summit Trials are in a few days. You are staying here."

Cael opened his mouth to argue, but Seraphina raised her hand as a fist as she said,

"Don’t push me on this, Cael."

He closed his mouth. He knew that tone. There was no changing her mind.

"Fine," he said, turning toward the door.

"Close the door on your way out."

Seraphina said, already returning to her paperwork.

Cael closed the door behind him and stood in the empty hallway.

’I need to leave tomorrow. But I can’t leave the academy.’

’Damn it. If only the main body were here.’

He leaned against the wall and closed his eyes.

’There has to be another way.’

...

Elsewhere, in the District Kazi.

A run-down district on the outskirts of the human territories, the streets were empty.

The buildings were crumbling, their windows shattered, their walls stained with years of neglect. It was the kind of place where people did not ask questions and did not look too closely at strangers.

A black-haired man walked through the district, his steps unhurried, his dark crimson eyes fixed ahead.

He wore a long coat that billowed slightly in the wind, and his pale skin seemed to glow faintly under the dim light.

His expression was calm, almost bored, as if he had seen everything this world had to offer and found it lacking.

He did not stop. He did not hesitate. He walked as if he already had a destination in mind.

Soon, he arrived at an old building. It had once been a vampire base, but now it was abandoned, its halls empty and silent.

The man walked inside, his footsteps echoing against the cracked stone floor.

"It is definitely here," he muttered, his voice low and smooth.

"Search for it."

As he commanded, several vampires emerged from the shadows. They moved silently, their forms blending with the darkness. They knelt before him.

"As your highness commands."

Then, with a soft swoosh, they vanished, scattering into the building like smoke.

The man lifted his right hand. A space pouch hung from his fingers.

He injected mana into the pouch, and blood began to pour out, dark and thick. He raised it to his lips and drank.

The blood dripped down his chin, staining his pale skin. His crimson eyes glowed even brighter, pulsing with restless hunger.

He lowered the pouch and smiled.

"Once I find it, I will ascend to the throne,"

He murmured as his voice grew louder,

"Father, you have grown old. So let me remove some of your burden... by sending you to your eternal slumber."

His smile widened, cold and sharp, as the shadows swallowed him whole.

The Black-haired man was none other than the Vampire Prince.

Little did he know that his fate was already decided by two silver-haired brothers.
