Chapter 1125: Chapter 1125: Yiming and Shiya
The dinner was simple, but everyone eating together was very happy.
After dinner, Bao Chunlai went home cheerfully. As for his daughter, Rou, she would temporarily be under the care of Liu Banxia and Qiaoqiao.
"Director Liu, can Yuan Yuan’s psychological counselor go see Doctor Tian? Old Bao said Rou received better treatment there," Wulei asked.
"This matter depends on where you want to consider it from," Liu Banxia said.
"Regular psychological counseling can be done by a qualified counselor. But Yuan Yuan’s situation is somewhat special; she needs long-term treatment."
"Unless you plan to settle in Binhai City in the coming years, I’d suggest you look for someone in the area where you live. I can also consult with Doctor Tian and see if there’s anyone with a good reputation nearby."
"Great, I’ll wait for your arrangements," Wulei nodded vigorously.
"To be honest, in the past two years, I’ve neither eaten nor slept well. Today’s meal was the most enjoyable, and tonight, I’ll also stay with Yuan Yuan, helping you monitor that ECG."
Liu Banxia laughed, "No need to stay up all night. Just monitor for a few hours; we can compare the data. The VIP room also has a shower, so you can take a good bath and rest."
"Yuan Yuan’s indicators need to be watched in the second half of the night as well, but overall, there shouldn’t be any problems. Our nurses can handle it; I’m just worried it might disturb your rest."
"I’ll list a range of numbers, and if Yuan Yuan’s within these ranges, she’s fine. We’ll reset the monitor to alert you if any indicators fall below certain thresholds; just call a doctor then."
"Alright, no matter how you arrange it, I’ll definitely follow through," Wulei readily agreed.
Returning to the VIP floor upstairs, Liu Banxia first checked in on their hospital room.
To his surprise, Yuan Yuan’s condition had improved significantly.
She still had a nasogastric tube inserted just in case.
Toxic megacolon is a tricky condition that can easily relapse if not carefully managed. Even after overcoming this hurdle, it would take a long period of adjustment.
To Liu Banxia’s surprise, Rou was also there visiting Yuan Yuan. No wonder Bao Chunlai was worried; the two kids got along well.
"Wow, the hero returns," Qiaoqiao happily exclaimed as soon as Liu Banxia walked into the room.
"Haha, not bad at all, just an average hero," Liu Banxia said with a smile.
"It seems like the names for the two little ones have been decided? Otherwise, my dad wouldn’t be in such a good mood. What are their names?"
"Honestly, it was really difficult for us. Your father-in-law and I have been researching," Liu Qingdong said.
"We’ve gone through books and online searches, selecting fifty potential names. After slowly narrowing them down, we finalized two, names we both agreed on."
"Our first child will be named Liu Yiming. ’Ming’ from ’remember’; we hope he’ll be self-disciplined, self-reliant, knowledgeable, and capable, aiming to be number one in whatever he does—just a cheerful wish."
"The second baby’s name was even harder to decide on," Qiao Xuezhi said with a smile.
"They say our second baby isn’t an easy one; we borrowed the ’Ya’ from your friend’s crush and added ’Shi.’ Liu Shiya—hoping this little one will be talented and sophisticated, calming her personality with this elegant name."
"Great, really great, Liu Yiming and Liu Shiya, both are wonderful names," Liu Banxia said joyfully.
He truly thought they were excellent, relieved that his father and father-in-law didn’t name them something overly popular.
The names of his son and daughter weren’t strikingly grand but rather ordinary. It was nice, simple, and easy to remember, just like him.
"You two have names now, but in Daddy’s eyes, you’re still Big Baby and Second Baby," Liu Banxia said, leaning closer to the little ones.
Seeing Liu Banxia’s delight with the names, Liu Qingdong and Qiao Xuezhi breathed a sigh of relief.
Choosing names isn’t easy; not only must you be satisfied, but others must also be pleased. As for the two babies concerned, well, they’re out of the equation; they don’t have a say.
Even if they had a say, they wouldn’t have the ability to exercise it.
For the two little ones, the current task was simply to sleep and eat.
They needed to be fully rested before they had the energy to eat.
"By the way, I chatted with Rou today, and she said she wants to become a kindergarten teacher in the future," Qiaoqiao said.
"Really? Well, in terms of personality, she’s quite suitable," Liu Banxia said with a smile.
"It’s true as can be; today she helped take care of the two little ancestors with me," Qiaoqiao said with a laugh.
"She was very patient, and the two little ones were calm in her arms. Tang was less so; Big Baby was okay, but Second Baby didn’t want to stay with her."
"Your Second Baby, just because she’s named Shiya. Anyway, I think she’ll be quite the handful in the future," Qiaoqiao joked.
"Just today, every time she cried with her little open mouth, just holding her wasn’t enough; you had to walk a bit. Now she’s small; when she gets older, you’ll have your hands full."
"Hehe, now there’s even fun." Qiaoqiao chuckled.
The second baby was quite cooperative; since you’re discussing us, we’ll cry for you. The first child didn’t want to be left out, so when the sister cried, he joined in.
Everyone was paying attention to them, and just like that, without any warning, they started crying.
"Shouldn’t be, we just cleaned up less than half an hour ago, right?" Qiaoqiao said with a mix of tears and laughter.
Liu Banxia quickly picked up the second baby.
It’s strange, really. The second baby, who was crying hard, just stopped after being picked up by Liu Banxia. The first child felt that performing solo wasn’t meaningful, so he pouted and went back to sleep.
If everyone wasn’t here just now, it would surely seem like an illusion.
"They say daughters are daddy’s little sweeties, so the second baby is closest to me." Liu Banxia said proudly, flaunting a bit.
Qiaoqiao pouted, "Wait until she recognizes people; you’re never home, she might even forget who you are."
"Oh... my darling daughter, you must remember your dad." Liu Banxia said.
That’s how it is.
Right now, they’re in the hospital, and he has time to see his babies at noon and night. But when Qiaoqiao goes home? He can only see them at night when he returns.
"Tang, when are you leaving?" Liu Banxia asked.
"Tomorrow morning’s flight, came to see these little ones, a rare break indeed." Tang Feifei replied.
"You really need to take better care of your health. I’ve told you so many times; I truly don’t want to one day read in the news that you’re hospitalized again." Liu Banxia advised.
"Exactly, making enough money is fine. Pick good scripts and aim for awards. Break into Asia, reach worldwide fame, and bring back an Oscar." Qiaoqiao said.
"Oh... it’s too difficult." Tang Feifei replied with a bitter smile.
"To win an award, it has to be an art film. Nowadays, art films have no market; few invest, and good scripts are even fewer."
"I won’t think too much about movies. I’ll focus more on TV dramas. They have a wider audience, and you need to act seriously too."
"Right now, major production companies emphasize the TV drama market, especially with online streaming increasing the audience size significantly."
"You need this attitude; otherwise, it seems like making money is too easy for you guys." Liu Banxia stated.
"One episode of a drama costs hundreds of thousands to millions, airing forty to fifty episodes. A movie costs billions, tens of billions, and I honestly don’t know where that money goes."
"Sometimes when I watch a movie, I care about the costumes, props, backgrounds, but now it seems people don’t focus on that and just finish filming somehow."
"It’s all spent on salaries; the cost of the movie’s production isn’t high." Tang Feifei smiled.
"Actors’ and directors’ fees take up more than half, some for marketing, and the rest really goes to production."
These aren’t secrets; everyone knows this. It’s a difference from foreign film industries where they allocate more to production costs.
Regardless of what Liu Banxia just said, she’s experienced it herself in films. Sometimes the wardrobe provided is cheap, especially for extras.
It’s just venting, though, as she feels money is important but she’s past the stage of fighting hard for it. Now she wishes to make quality films and win awards, fulfilling her goal.
Similar to what Qiaoqiao said, it’s her minor goal.
"Alright, alright, let go, always holding them; what will you do if they won’t sleep unless you hold them?"
Seeing Liu Banxia still holding and not letting go, Qiaoqiao urged him.
"Now I’m kind of addicted to holding them." Liu Banxia laughed.
"They say a family environment greatly impacts children. If I always hold them at home, they might develop this habit."
After speaking, he carefully placed his baby girl back.
Despite holding her for such a short time, his heart was filled with sweetness, and he cheekily touched the first child’s small hand, little foot.
Qiaoqiao rolled her eyes, "If you wake them up, you’ll have to figure it out yourself."
"The first child is truly good, even at this young age he’s a little gentleman." Liu Banxia said proudly.
"Does your bragging work? Sons are always fond of their mothers." Qiaoqiao replied with a hint of pride.
Watching them start vying for affection in front of the babies, everyone felt a bit helpless.
