Chapter 483: Preparations Done

Kiro entered the game with his mental health fully recovered. He was beyond glad that there were still no portals to be seen, the world looked to have been brought back to normal, it had been two days for him but it had been weeks for them.

He went straight to the after dark base, there was a lot that needed to be done. The beasts he had tamed were still there, it felt like forever since he had seen them, they seemed to have been happy to see him too with the way they playfully jumped on him.

"Get off, are you trying to kill me?"

It took several minutes for them all to get inline. Kiro noticed that they had levelled up as well, that must have meant that without even his command, they defended Asgard as well.

"I’ll treat you to high level beast meat when this is all over." Some showed excitement some didn’t. "Oh and some high level fruits and veggies."

"The road ahead is long," he said as he summoned his spectres. "I expect you to be helpful, let’s remove the threat that’s attempting to rob us of our peaceful times."

"You look kinda ridiculous, can they even understand you?" Ursa had just walked into their base, he had forgotten that they opened it for guardians.

"Of course they can, our bond is beyond anything of this realm." He puffed his chest trying not to make things weird.

She stiffled a laugh, "well then I won’t keep ya."

Kiro nodded, glad the interaction was not dragged on. Her apologising did not mean that they were suddenly friends, there were only two guardians he couldn’t trust. At least Isaac was not hiding the fact that he hated Kiro, with Ursa though, he did not know what to think.

"Are you really just gonna go there by yourself? I can offer myself up as a meat shield." She was walking away but she tracked back to say.

"I won’t be by myself, I’ll be with Felix."

"You know what I mean, how fast are even your attack. Are you confident in taking on hoards coming at you?"

Kiro wasn’t an idiot. Of course he had considered things such as those. But he was still adamant about going there with just Felix, as strictly support for him.

So to stop Ursa from nagging him, he activated his clone skill and duplicated himself twenty times.

"I’ll be fine." All twenty of him said in unison.

She forced a smile, "guess I was worried for nothing."

Kiro understood their concerns but bringing another person would mean he had to worry about not just himself and Felix, in a way, it was a burden to him since nobody was as strong as him in Asgard.

"Portals could open any time I’m over there. Guardians need to lead the charge and protect this place. If it falls, our home is doomed. I hope you aren’t taking that for granted, protecting Asgard is as important as destroying the ancient one."

Ursa didn’t argue beyond that. She still felt guilty about a lot of things she had done, in her heart she owed Kiro quite a lot but she accepted that there was nothing that could be done.

Kiro continued to lecture his beasts until they understood what was at stake. In that moment he recalled his clones that he left training in his mental space. Their experience added to his, his pathways expanded, he could store even more now, his energy also went up as a result of recalling them.

He could feel himself stronger, Kiro just knew that now he could use the destruction skill with Ryu a little longer. Once again, he made two more clones, made them fight each other using Ryu in his mental space.

The exact seconds were important. It started off with five, then expanded to ten and then fifteen. Despite the fact that they were clones, he recognised that it was taking quite a toll on him. So he recalled the clones and again, his low energy went up a little.

"System, is it possible to leave say twenty clones in my mental space to use them as an energy reserve? Like if I run out and recall one, it fills up the energy the clone had?"

[Congratulations on figuring out another use. The times it can be done is two times at most. More times than this can see you losing yourself into the Kaos energy, it is not recommended to use more than two]

He couldn’t believe his ears, he couldn’t believe he had not thought about this at all. Since clones retained his full strength, and could share experiences, that also included the energy they use.

Only two times also meant that it was extremely limited. That’s why despite this finding, he decided to take Felix with him anyway. He would use one of the two clones for business over there, rely on Felix for the most part and then use the last one to vibrate them back to Asgard.

It sounded like a solid plan, like nothing bad would derail it. But Kiro knew better than to just believe that, they were up against the ancient one, in its territory, hoping to come back unscathed was a little bit on the fairytale side.

"What are you spacing out for?"

Kiro turned and it was Nikolai, with Isaac of all people.

"Just thinking if I can actually do this and come back alive." He was smiling as he said this.

"You have to come back, or else you’ll get an earful from me."

Kiro chuckled. Of course he wanted to come back alive too. He waited for Isaac to say something snarky but it never came.

"Kiro, bring him back too."

"Of course."

This was too real and too sad for his liking. He was thankful that the other guardians walked in, Felix amongst them. He was not in the mood to say sappy goodbyes.

"Hiro, did you manage?" He could see how tired his friend was, he was gaunt, his eyes had black rings around them, he had been working tirelessly all this time.

"Who do you think I am? Can you carry twenty thousand of these things?"

Kiro’s eyes went wide with surprise, he was expecting at most a thousand. But this was a good surprise.

"What do you think Felix, can you?"

He answered by putting them all in his inventory.

"Now then, you all stay alert. We’ve been preparing for weeks, in Asgard time. If it happens the battle spills over here, it will be up to you."

Kiro put his hand on Felix’s shoulder. He started channelling the frequency. He was looking straight at Isla and smiled as they disappeared.
