Chapter 94: Thank him for everything
If the man sulked a little at the loss of warmth from his hand, he did not show it on his face.
Instead, he thoughtfully asked a question that had been lingering in his mind, ’’Why did Angel fall sick suddenly today?"
Daisy thought back to the events of the morning, ’’Ivy got a job offer so she had to leave immediately. And Angel started crying when she saw the suitcase. She won’t stop crying no matter what. Then, she suddenly lost consciousness.’’
Ryle’s lips thinned, ’’Were you not paying her enough?"
’’What do you mean? Ivy is not my maid,’’ Daisy frowned. It was disrespect if she reduced Ivy’s connection with Angel to something like money. Taking care of Angel was a job for Ivy when they were staying with Maxim but ever since Ivy moved in with her, she turned down any amount of money saying that Angel was not a job to her.
’’If Angel is getting sick in her absence, then we can buy her presence. There is nothing in this world that cannot be brought over.’’
’’Ivy is a human,’’ Maxim stared at the man.
’’If money can’t entice her, there must be something else. Leave this matter to me. She will be back to your place by tonight,’’ Ryle said to Daisy as he turned to leave.
Daisy grabbed his hand before he could take steps, ’’She is an individual and she has every right to decide what she wants for herself and how she wants to live her life. Stop acting like you own everyone.’’
’’Are you saying I am wrong?" Ryle turned to look at her.
’’Are you think you are not?" Daisy shot back.
A sarcastic laughter escaped Ryle’s mouth before he pulled his hand out of Daisy’s grip, ’’Whatever,’’ he walked out of the emergency room.
’’He is a tad bit capricious. I’ll talk to him.’’
Maxim quickly followed Ryle.
Daisy pinched the spot between her brows.
Once Angel was moved to a VIP ward, Daisy took a seat on the couch and leaned her head back. Her eyes turned heavy gradually but just as she closed them, she heard the sound of approaching footsteps in front of the room.
Daisy sat straight, alert.
’Knock knock’
’’Who is it?"
"Miss Chen, it’s me.’’
The familiar voice made Daisy relax in her position again.
’’Come in.’’
Benjamin stepped inside the room.
’’Is there anything that you want?"
Benjamin looked at the woman, slightly embarrassed at the fact that he had been addressing this beautiful lady as a dude for ages. He was still unused to changes that transpired recently.

He had just opened his mouth when a few people entered the room with elaborate wooden boxes in heir hands.
Daisy stood there, feeling a sense of deja vu as she watched the empty coffee table gradually filling up with all traditional chinese dishes. The fragrance of the food lingered in the air, putting Daisy in a momentary daze.

’’Miss Chen, Boss had made these arrangements,’’ Seeing that Ryle was not around, Benjamin’s tongue rolled rather smoother as he did some more buttering up, ’’In fact, this place needs one to do the booking before a month to be able to dine there but Boss was worried the quality of the food will be compromised elsewhere so he made sure that you have a decent meal."
Daisy glanced at the food.
"Still, it was a very short notice thing so he is very nervous that the food might not be up to the mark,’’ At this point, Benjamin also had thoughts like that of the old geezers in the company. Their Boss possibly had a thing for Miss Chen or he would never do such things for a woman but knowing the man’s sadomasochistic ways, Benjamin knew that things were far from done if they were left in his hands.
He, as the most capable, employee, had to burn his brain cells to ensure a happy life for his Boss.
If Daisy thought that things stopped there, then she was very much mistaken.
Because following that, a few more people came and set up a cartoonish and cute mushroom diffuser in the room. In the matter of few seconds, a gentle fragrance was diffused in the air. he bright lights in the room were replaced with warm lights that felt rather comforting to eyes.
’’Boss made this arrangements for Little Miss Angel so that she can have a more comfortable sleep. We have gotten it checked with the doctor. These fragrances and lights will help her feeling refreshed when she wakes up,’’ Benjamin explained, pointing at a man who was setting up toys on the other side of Angel’s bed, ’’The discharge procedures will still take some time. Little Miss Angel can play with the toys in the meantime.’’
There was possibility that the little girl was going to be the Harpers’ little princess so he found the most suitable way to address her.
"These...’’ Daisy could not find a word to say anything so in the end, she asked the man, ’’Where is Ryle?"
"Boss had important matters to deal with so he asked you to take care before he left.’’
Those words somehow left a bitter taste in Daisy’s mouth. All those delicacies in front of her yet she did not feel hungry, ’’I see,’’ she said to the man.
Benjamin could see the conflicted expression on the woman’s face. Was she perhaps missing him? "Miss Chen, if you need Boss for anything, I can call him right away. He might make some time and be here for you.’’
"No need. Just thank him on my behalf,’’ Daisy paused as she looked at her hands for a moment before saying, ’’For everything.’’
