Chapter 84: Hiding behind the door

Daisy could feel his warm breath tickling her skin as the man whispered, ’’Is it really none of my business?" there was something so different about the way he spoke those words, in a way that made her feel a warmth in her body.

’’No, it’s not,’’ Daisy pressed her palms on his chest as she pushed him away from her before she left the room without looking back.

Once she was far away from the man, she pressed her hand on her chest, feeling her heart thumping under her palm.

A hint of confusion rose in her heart. What exactly did he want from her? He stated the compensation amount and she settled it. She was the one who lied to him in the first place and she compensated for it. Was he not satisfied with that much?

Bewildered by his behavior and her reaction, Daisy stood there, lost in her thoughts. By the time she went downstairs, Ryle had already left.

Diana hugged Daisy, ’’Why don’t you stay over for the night?" she asked, reluctant to part with her sister.

Daisy looked behind her at the man who was standing behind Diana like her guardian angel, a possessive look on his face that said ’Nobody is staying. She is mine’.

Daisy’s lips twitched, ’’Some other day.’’

Diana pouted but did not urge her further knowing that Daisy must have her own reasons.

By the time they reached their place, Angel was beginning to doze off in Daisy’s arms.

’’Are you angry at me?" Ivy turned around to look at Daisy who had not said a word the whole way. She proceeded to unlock the door before looking at the woman once again.

Daisy snapped out of her thoughts and stopped rocking Angel in her arms, ’’Angry?"

’’I ended up revealing in front of Dee,’’ Ivy scratched the back of her neck, ’’I think I might be a bit bad at hiding things.’’

’’A bit?" Daisy blinked.

Ivy choked on the air. Do you have to be so upfront?

As Ivy stepped inside the house, she paused when Daisy did not follow her inside. ’’What happened?" she could not help but look at the woman questioningly, ’’Did you forget something?"

Daisy glanced at the little girl who was sleeping in her arms and then her gaze traced towards the small wound on the back of her hand that was mostly healed, ’’I think so,’’ she kissed the little girl on the side of her head before handing her to Ivy, ’’Take care of yourself and her. I’ll be back soon.’’

’’But... but... what is so important that you have to get it back at this hour...’’

Daisy was gone even before Ivy could finish her words.

...

’’What are you doing?" Ryle looked at the woman who pushed her hands to her back and unzipped her dress. The solid purple dress cascaded down, hanging near the swell of her hips. As she stepped closer to him, it fell to the floor.

’’Daisy...’’ Ryle called out to the woman who had her eyes dazed. She seemed almost intoxicated, and oh so determined that his voice seemed to be lacking the authority to make her listen to him, ’’Daisy...’’ It was growing weaker and weaker with every passing moment.

’’Shhh...’’ Daisy pressed a finger on his lips, her other palm flew to his chest as she pushed him back to the bed.

Ryle propped himself up on his elbows watching as the woman placed a knee between his legs then she brought her other knee forward and knelt on the bed.

’Click’

Daisy effortlessly unbuckled his belt before she started unbuttoning his shirt. Her long hair gathered on his body as she lowered her head and pressed a soft kiss on his abdomen.

’’Do you know what you are doing?" Ryle’s voice was low, husky and it sounded almost like a suppressed growl.

Daisy gazed up and looked into his eyes innocently, ’’Do you not want me to do this?" Her hand roamed over his pants, caressing the bulge on it before she unbuttoned his pant and slid her middle finger in his boxers, ’’Or this?" she blinked innocently.

Ryle felt all his blood rushing downwards towards that one place as he threw his head back and bit his lips.

Daisy pushed two more fingers inside his boxers, her hands grazing over his hardness, ’’Do you also not want me to do this?"

’’Fuck,’’ His breathing grew ragged and he could feel the rise and fall of his chest.

The doorbell rang out a clear, piercing sound, pulling Ryle out of his dreamland.

The man sat up on the bed, his bare upper body glistened with sweat. He looked at his boxers where a bulge greeted his vision.

Ryle dragged a palm down his face, the memories of the dream replayed in his head, still as fresh, ’’Damn!’’

The doorbell rang again and the man got off the bed and draped a robe on himself before he walked to the door.

’’Benjamin, it seems like you have made a habit of reporting things in the middle of the night...’’ Ryle trailed off when he opened the door and gazed at the person standing outside his mansion.

He blinked twice.

’Bam’

Daisy opened her mouth to speak when suddenly the door was closed right on her face.

Ryle covered his face with both his hands as he paced in the living room, ’’Is she a witch? Am I still dreaming?" he pinched his arm, hard. Was it a dream within a dream?

When he felt the pain of the pinch, he realized that it was not an illusion this time.

Outside the door, Daisy was contemplating whether to ring the doorbell or not when the door opened. This time, Ryle seemed more composed. The man, for some reason, did not open the door completely.

Daisy could only see half of his body, the other half was behind the door.

"What are you doing here?" the man asked.

Daisy paused, ’’There is something that I want to ask you.’’

Ryle observed her face in silence for a moment before he turned around and walked inside his house, ’’Come inside,’’ he said, looking at her from above his shoulder when she did not move from the spot.
