’’But these funds are from unknown origins. We cannot accept them like this...’’
’’The origin of these funds is clear to me,’’ Daisy interrupted the person who spoke up. She then turned to look at Lu Xian, ’’I appreciate our partnership but I believe it would be best for both our companies if we don’t get too involved in each other’s business too closely. My lawyers will join yours tomorrow to finalize the share transfer process.’’
If Lu Xian was disappointed, his smile hid his disappointment. He nodded, ’’I am glad to know that,’’ he arched a brow, ’’Since most of the meeting is over, how about I drop you back at the mansion? It is not safe for you to go back alone at this hour.’’
’’No need. I still have things to do. You can take your leave first.’’
Lu Xian followed her gaze and noticed that she was looking at the two people who had sold their shares to him, the vice president and one of the directors of Chen Corporations. She must have refused to leave with him because she had to deal with them first, he assumed.
’’Alright, I will see you soon,’’ Lu Xian ignored the desperate gaze of Chen Lina and turned to leave once he was done talking.
After he was gone, Daisy looked at Chen Lina.
’’What do you want to do?" Chen Lina had lost her composure at this point. The shares she held in the company were her biggest trump card. Because of her special relation with Director Yu, his shares also in a way could be manipulated by her. The 7% shares together were a huge asset to her which is why she was not intimidated by the change in power positions in the company. No matter who was in power, they had to be careful around her.
But now, despite all her plots and calculations, she had lost her control.
Chen Lina felt threatened by Daisy Chen because the person whom she thought was a silly little girl managed to show her in a bad light on her first day in the company. And additionally, she demoted her niece Rebecca despite knowing their connection. If such a person was allowed to grow wings then she would be an absolute hindrance in her path.

Chen Lima was pursuing immediate gains and in the process, she neglected the great danger behind that approached her in the form of Lu Xian.
’’You are fired.’’
Daisy’s tone was calm and neutral but her words seemed to be thundering in Chen Lina’s ears.
Undoubtedly, those words were meant for both Chen Lina and Director Yu.
’’No, you cannot do that. My brother would not allow to do that. He had always treated me well...’’
’’Take my grandfather’s and my father’s name once again and I will make it such that you won’t be earning a penny anywhere the moment you step your feet out of here,’’ Daisy’s eyes narrowed dangerously.
The curses that Chen Lina was about to spout were stuck in her throat. She wanted to believe that those were mere warnings of Daisy but when she thought about how all her plans had failed and on top of that she had been restrained in the meeting room for over an hours now, she was scared.
No matter what... One can always retreat in order to advance and win in the end.

Under Daisy’s cold gaze, the guards parted and Chen Lina swung her hand, shoving the chair back as she walked out of the place. Director Yu, despite having a reluctant expression on his face did not say anything to Daisy and quickly chased after Chen Lina.
’’Lina, what do we do now...? This...’’
Chen Lina did not stop in her tracks as she spoke to him, ’’I have nothing to worry about. I have been working for years. Maybe it is time for me to rest a bit and the situation here... Director Yu nodded.

Before Chen Lina could finish speaking, her phone started ringing.

After a few minutes, she put her phone down.
’’What happened?" Director Yu asked.
Chen Lina looked at the man, ’’Rebecca was transferred to one of the smallest branch companies in an insignificant position. Ashamed by the constant demotions, she turned in her resignation letter without consulting me.’’
’’How could she do that? Can’t she have a little bit of more confidence in you?"
Chen Lina halted in her tracks, ’’She was with her fiance. He knew about her recent demotion and after this, he told her to quit and she did it, without even consulting me. She told me that she has no ambitions regarding Chen Corporations and especially after Daisy’s arrival, she is worried that even I cannot act according to my wish. She wants to marry her rich fiance so she is going abroad with him, instead of settling for such small jobs.’’
Director Yu sighed, ’’She has a point. To think that we were thinking of conditioning her to defeat Daisy but Daisy had the foresight to think two steps ahead. She even transferred her to branch office...’’
’’Are you praising Daisy?" Chen Lina interrupted the man.
