Chapter 100: Good girl

Before she could touch him, the man pulled back from her and grinned, ’’So if I see you out of the bed, I will assume that you want me to do things to you,’’ his gaze slowly scanned her from head to toe before he met her gaze and whispered, ’’Bad bad things,’’ he whispered.

And Daisy felt something building up inside her. A strange kind of heat, a strange discomfort, an incurable itch that had her pull the blankets up.

’’Good girl,’’ he said before he turned around and walked out of the Master bedroom.

And Daisy sat there wondering why those seemingly simple words coming out of his mouth sounded so filthy to her ears. Filthy in a way that had the heat rising up her neck and spread to her face.

Ryle came back within 10 minutes. When he entered the room, he spotted Daisy sitting on the bed with a pillow on her lap. She supported her chin on both her palms and watched the laptop screen unblinkingly, staring at Angel and her cute interactions with everyone.

He had no doubts that she must have known that he was coming back to the room because in order to come upstairs, one had to go pass by the living room. So, she must have seen him on the camera. And given how sharp she was, she must have gauged the sound of his footsteps. Still, she was sitting there acting clueless and he could not help but be amused.

Ryle walked up to her.

And it was only when he stood by the bed did Daisy turned her head to look at him. Unaware of his by-the-door-analysis, she looked at him like she just notice his presence, ’’I didn’t realize when you came back.’’

’’Don’t feel sad about that. My presence is not as remarkable as you,’’ Ryle winked.

Daisy’s lips twitched. She had no idea if he was mocking her or himself.

She glanced at the bowl of soup in his hands, ’’For me?"

’’No, for my parrots. Both are especially fond of chicken soup.’’

To Ryle’s response, Daisy looked in the direction of the extended golden branches in the wall where the parrots were not present unlike the last time she was here when they were rather active.

She was curious, ’’Parrots like chicken soup?" Daisy turned to look at him.

’’What do you think?"

’’Won’t it turn cold? I don’t see them anywhere,’’ Logically, she hadn’t heard of birds drinking chicken soup but then she could not be sure. People in socialite circle pampered their domesticated pets in ways that was beyond her comprehension level. So, expecting the unexpected was rather a norm.

’’They are out on a date. Most of the days when the weather is good, they prefer to fly and rarely do they come back home.’’

"Oh, then today...’’

Ryle pressed a finger on her lips, ’’Before I start having suspicions regarding your IQ, stop right there. The soup is for you.’’

"_"

Ryle sat beside her, brought a spoonful of soup closer to her mouth.

’’I can drink it myself...’’ Daisy moved to get the bowl out of his hand.

But the man pulled it back, ’’Sit still and have it. I have suspicions that your wounds have rendered a bit dumber than you initially were. It won’t do you any good if you spill this hot soup on yourself.’’

’’Nobody has called me dumb before,’’ Daisy has been called various things in life, but never dumb, ’’And...’’

Ryle put the spoon in her mouth just as she opened it to speak, ’’They are not me.’’

Annoyed by his constant chattering, Daisy turned towards the laptop screen and focused on the laptop. The woman had gotten a bowl of food as she ran after Angel to feed her. Her attention zoomed into to small pieces of strawberries that were garnished on the food.

Once she gulped the soup in her mouth, she questioned, ’’You made that?"

Ryle followed her gaze, ’’Yes. I have tasted it before sending it for Angel, don’t worry.’’

’’I am not.’’

The man continued feeding her the soup slowly while she watched Angel and one did not know how long of a time had passed before she felt like the bowl of soup was never-ending, ’’I don’t want more,’’ Daisy turned her face to the side.

Ryle did not force her. He put the bowl by the bedside table and passed her some medications along with a glass of water, ’’Have these painkillers.’’

While she was having it, the man walked in the direction of the bathroom.

Daisy peeked and watched as he came back to the bed with a small golden coloured glass vial in his hand. It was the size of his his little finger but somehow it was eye catching.

The man stopped beside the bed again and looked at her quietly.

Not knowing what he was expecting her to do, she looked at him in confusion.

"Turn around.’’

She wanted to question him again but lacking the energy to do so, Daisy gave in to the man and turned around and in the next second, she felt a cooling sensation in her hair, following by the careful touch of his calloused fingers.

’Hiss’

Daisy winced, her brows scrunching in pain.

Ryle frowned, ’’Does it hurt?"

’’I am fine,’’ she said, sucking in a cold breath of air.

’’Hang in there,’’ he slowly parted her hair and poured more of the oil in her scalp, his eyes flashing with a dangerous glint when he saw the dried blood at the roots of her hair.

A pity that that bastard died. But it was a relief to him that his fellow teammates survived the ordeal. Someone has to pay for what they did to her.

The thought passed by too quick. The possessiveness he felt almost startled him but Ryle did not dwell on the thought when she winced in pain again.

He gently and carefully massaged the oil in throughout her scalp. By the time he was done, a chunk of long hair had fallen in his hands. He gathered the strands carefully in his hand before he proceeded to clean her back.

Daisy’s waist arched instinctively.

’’What do you think am I doing to you?" the man asked teasingly.

And Daisy forced herself to sit properly as he cleaned the hair strands from her back and wrapped them in a tissue before putting them in the dustbin.

’’Much better now.’’

He had just taken a step when he felt a tug on his shirt.
