Chapter 300: Shen Kai’s Determination!
He had heard this exact reasoning countless times throughout the years.
Every time, he intended to recruit a promising disciple forcefully. Wu Haruto always used the same justification.
For the sect and humanity.
Looking at his old friend, Shen Kai slowly shook his head, feeling helpless.
However, his silence made Wu Haruto believe his words were effective, so he went further.
"Did you forget? Even Yuna was killed by them. All I want is to build a secure future for the sect. As long as those Pishachas can be eliminated. Everything I do is worth it."
Shen Kai’s expression darkened. The death of his beloved still weighed heavily upon his heart. He slowly closed his eyes before opening them again.
"I understand exactly how dangerous those things can be, Haruto."
His voice remained calm.
"You don’t need to remind me. I’ll seek justice for Yuna."
"But I won’t do it by destroying the futures of children who should’ve been free to choose their own path."
Wu Haruto frowned and retorted. "This sect isn’t a prison, Kai."

Shen Kai slowly turned around.
"Maybe that’s how you see it."
He walked toward the doorway before speaking without looking back.
"The younger generation dreams of seeing the wider world, of freedom. No one wants to spend their entire lives trapped inside these mountains."
His footsteps stopped at the entrance.
Without turning around, he left behind one final sentence.
"Withdraw their search order."
"Otherwise...you’ll find me standing on the opposite side."
The office became completely silent after Shen Kai left.
Wu Haruto remained standing where he was, saying nothing.
Only after the door slowly closed did he quietly clench his fists, his face remaining calm despite the storm silently raging within his heart.

On his way back to his residence, Shen Kai immediately summoned one of his trusted messengers and instructed him to notify every elder and cultivator belonging to his faction.
Since the situation had already reached this point, he had no intention of remaining a bystander any longer. If Wu Haruto insisted on using force against those children, then he would use every bit of influence he possessed to stop him.
As he continued walking through the sect, Shen Kai silently organised his thoughts. Regardless of how talented Su Mo and Yang Qingxi were, they were still juniors with limitless futures ahead of them.
Allowing them to remain trapped inside the White Moon Sect against their will would only bury their potential. Compared to this isolated sect, the Shen Family could offer them a far broader stage.

Lost in thought, Shen Kai soon arrived outside his residence. Before he could step inside, however, he noticed a familiar figure anxiously pacing back and forth near the entrance. The moment she saw him, she immediately hurried over.
"Xing?"
Shen Xing’s face was filled with worry.
"Dad, what’s going on?" she asked without bothering with any greetings. "Are Sister Qingxi and Su Mo in danger?"
Shen Kai instinctively frowned.
"Remember your identity," he said with a stern expression. "She isn’t your sister anymore. You should call her your niece."
Shen Xing stared at him blankly for a second before her eyebrows twitched.
"Is... that seriously the issue right now?"
Her voice rose in disbelief as she pointed toward the sect outside.
"The entire sect is searching for them! Why are they being hunted?"
By the time she finished speaking, her eyes had already become slightly red from anxiety.
Seeing that, Shen Kai’s stern expression gradually softened.
He let out a helpless sigh before gently patting her shoulder.
"Children don’t need to know everything."
"As long as I’m still alive...they’ll be safe."
Those words instantly calmed Shen Xing far more effectively than any lengthy explanation could have.
She looked into her father’s eyes.
"You promise?"
Shen Kai confidently patted his chest.
"I guarantee it."
Then his expression shifted into one of mild annoyance.
"Besides," he muttered, "I’ve spent the entire morning preparing lunch for them. They can’t possibly disappear without even tasting my cooking."
While grumbling to himself, Shen Kai pushed open the courtyard gate and walked inside.

The next instant... He stopped.
Several familiar auras quietly greeted him.
"Don’t worry, Qingxi’s Granduncle."
Su Mo sat leisurely on the sofa with a teacup in one hand, looking completely relaxed despite the fact that the entire sect was searching for him.
"I, Su Mo, am a man who keeps his promises."
He smiled mischievously.
"How could I possibly leave without first confirming whether your cooking is actually as good as you claimed?"
For a brief moment, Shen Kai simply stood there.
Then... Relief completely washed over his face.
Meanwhile, Shen Xing let out a surprised cry.
"Sister Qingxi! Su Mo!"
Without sparing her father another glance, she immediately ran toward the two of them.
Song Meilin, who happened to be sitting nearby, silently watched the scene.
"..."
For some reason... Being ignored by her own personal disciple felt surprisingly painful.
Shen Kai finally recovered from his surprise and swept his gaze across the room.
Yang Qingxi sat calmly beside Su Mo while Song Meilin quietly drank tea opposite them. Several maids continued serving everyone with blank expressions, almost as if nothing unusual had happened.

His attention eventually landed on another figure.
Someone dressed in a cloak with a hood covering most of their face silently stood nearby.
For some reason... That person’s aura felt strangely familiar.
Unfortunately, there wasn’t time to dwell on it.
Shen Kai immediately closed the door before raising his hand to activate a defensive barrier around the residence.
To his surprise, his spiritual energy was gently pushed aside.
He blinked.
There was already a barrier surrounding the entire courtyard.
Not only that... It was considerably stronger than the one he had intended to deploy.
Shen Kai couldn’t help looking toward Su Mo.
The latter merely smiled before casually taking another sip of tea.
Suppressing his curiosity for the moment, Shen Kai walked over with hurried steps. Only after confirming that all three of them were completely unharmed did he finally let out his breath.
