Chapter 815: 815 - You’ll find nothing but death here
The smile on Qingyi’s face didn’t last long.
Slowly, the corners of his lips drooped, his expression hardening as he turned away. The warm glow in his purple eyes gave way to something sharp and icy.
"Rou’er, sit in the lotus position and focus your mind. Ignore any noise from the outside world," Qingyi ordered in a cold tone.
Rou’er didn’t hesitate for even a second.
A faint flicker of pain passed over her beautiful face as she crossed her legs, but her eyes remained closed.
Beneath his feet, Qingyi felt a series of strange arrays activate—clearly set up only recently.
The coldness on his face intensified.
"You shouldn’t be here," he said, hands elegantly clasped behind his back, his purple eyes fixed on the distant horizon.
There, a black portal tore open in the sky, ripping through the very fabric of space, and from it emerged forty-one figures.
Leading the group were two elders, a dragon in his human form, and an old man with pink hair identical to Rou’er’s.
Close behind came an arrogant young man with golden hair, followed by twenty dragons and another twenty men and women, all sporting the same pink locks.
"Who are you?" Qingyi asked, his voice cutting through the air like a blade.

"Who we are is none of your business, filthy worm!" Huang Yaori declared arrogantly, his chin raised in disdain. "I am the heir to the Primordial Emperor of the Golden Sun, and my father has come here with the intention of taking this woman as his wife!"
"Young Master Yaori..."
The two elders’ eyes flashed with murderous intent for a brief instant. A colossal pressure bore down on Yaori’s body, forcing him into silence, his teeth clenched until they nearly broke.
Why hadn’t his father sent at least one elder to support him?
In the end, all he could do was remain silent, swallowing hard.
Qingyi also ignored that clown, though a slight hint of concern flashed through his mind.
Primordial Emperor of the Golden Sun.
This was the title of the man who had poisoned the Primordial Demon Empress.
"You’ll find nothing but death here, so I’ll give you the chance to back down," Qingyi said coldly, his grip tightening on the Heaven-Defying Thunder Sword as he prepared to go all out.
"We mean no harm to young Miss Rou’er, young man. I don’t know what your relationship with her is, but we’re just a rescue team, here to take her back to her grandmothers," the dragon elder said, then waved to a woman in his group.
She was a woman with white hair, eyes as blue as ice, and a cold, impassive face.
She wasn’t a great beauty, but she still had the kind of presence that made many men turn their heads as she passed.
The white-haired woman took a single step forward, reaching Rou’er in the blink of an eye, as if the distance between them simply didn’t exist.
"DON’T YOU DARE!" Qingyi roared from the depths of his heart, unleashing all his killing intent as he spun on his heels.
His sword slashed toward where the woman had stood... only to cleave through empty air.

A terrifying arc of energy trailed the swing of the blade, striking the jade of the platform and tearing through the air for hundreds of meters—a searing white line cutting across the horizon before dissipating.
The platform recovered almost instantly, powerful arrays forcing it back into its original shape, the shards rearranging themselves as if nothing had happened.
Qingyi froze, his heart sinking.
Rou’er was no longer there.
He turned just in time to see her behind that elder, still in the lotus position, the white-haired woman protecting her.
Fortunately, they didn’t return to the portal immediately; they had to wait ten minutes before they could make the trip back.
Of course, Qingyi didn’t know that.
His eyes stayed fixed on Rou’er, his heart racing and pounding against his ribs, his teeth clenched until they hurt.
"That’s enough, boy! Don’t be a frog trying to kiss a swan! Don’t force me to kill a promising talent from the Celestial Heavens."
"Y-you..." Qingyi couldn’t believe those words; a maddened cackle echoed from the depths of his throat—a sound that mingled disbelief with pure fury.
"Q-Qingyi..." Rou’er’s eyes slowly opened, tears already streaming down her face. "W-what happened? Who are these people?"
As she spoke, Rou’er’s mind wavered, and a heart-wrenching scream tore from her lips.
She needed to control the awakening of her bloodline very carefully, so that it would occur without pain.
The moment her composure faltered, her control crumbled along with it.
And with that came the most terrible pain she had ever felt in her entire life, as if a million needles were piercing every centimeter of her skin at once.
The white-haired woman acted quickly, placing her hand on Rou’er’s Dantian and taking control of the awakening.

"Ugh... such a crude method... don’t these filthy vermin have even a shred of refinement?" she complained, her face contorted in a frown of contempt.
An expression that didn’t last long, for with Rou’er’s pain came Qingyi’s fury.
He could no longer hold back his murderous intent; his purple eyes glowed with a sinister light as an aura laden with the deaths of millions descended upon everyone present like a suffocating shroud.
His body moved so fast that even the elders were startled; the space in front of him warped as he appeared before Rou’er and the white-haired woman.
"A THOUSAND DEATHS WON’T BE ENOUGH FOR YOU TO PAY FOR THIS!" Qingyi roared with all the fury pent up in his chest.
He just needed to get Rou’er out of there. He just needed to send her to the World of the Mind.
If that happened, he knew he could win, regardless of the enemy’s cultivation realm—even if it cost him his life.
All he had to do was...
Qingyi’s hand reached out, his fingers stretching toward that fragile figure.
To touch her...
In the split second before he reached Rou’er, however, an arrogant figure appeared beside him in a golden blur.
In the next instant, he was forced to yank his hands back and cross them over his chest in the shape of a cross before a powerful blow slammed into him.
