Chapter 209: Chapter 2: Return to Alentia (Part 2)
Wu Xuan, fond of everything related to his beloved, was very friendly towards his brother-in-law, specially preparing freshly squeezed juice and snacks for him.
When Wen Shu came downstairs, she happened to see the two conversing harmoniously, with Wu Xuan acting like a guardian.
Meanwhile, Bai Yan looked radiant. His gold-threaded robe was perfectly tailored, and his hair was meticulously trimmed, making him appear handsome and steady, much more mature than the last time they met.
In the midst of laughter and conversation, he lifted his eyes, saw Wen Shu coming downstairs, and his breath paused for a few seconds. He quickly got up and dashed toward her.
Before Wen Shu could react, she was enveloped in a tight hug.
"Sister," Bai Yan’s husky voice softly sounded by her ear, "Are you doing well?"
Perhaps it was the overwhelming excitement of their reunion; he held her tightly, as if trying to meld her into his embrace.
With her face buried against him, Wen Shu felt a bit at a loss due to the sudden hug, but quickly regained her composure and patted his back to offer comfort.
"Don’t worry, I’m doing great."
Bai Yan’s sincere concern was palpable, but his embrace was indeed quite tight, with his chin pressing against her neck, and his warm breath faintly and intermittently whispering at her earlobe. It felt rather peculiar...
"Let’s sit down and talk."
Wen Shu shrank her neck slightly, pressed down on Bai Yan’s shoulders, trying to push him away. However, he wouldn’t let go, clinging to her ear and pleading, "Sister, I’ve been thinking about you every day. Can’t I hold you a little longer...just a little while more."
He knew well how to use vulnerability to his advantage, but Wen Shu felt the firm grip on her lower back and the seemingly inadvertent caress on her earlobe, which sent chills down her spine.
With Wu Xuan and the others around, she’s no longer emotionally naive, but Bai Yan towards her...how could this be!
Wen Shu calmly pushed him away and sat directly beside Wu Xuan, deliberately asking, "Where are Xi Xi and Yangyang? They should also come and meet their uncle."
She looked at Bai Yan with a gentle smile, giving advice in an elder’s tone, "Right, Yan, haven’t you found a partner yet? You’re not young anymore, it’s time to find a mate."
Being firmly pushed away by her, Bai Yan naturally realized something was wrong. He stood there stiffly, his smile turning a bit rigid as he heard Wen Shu’s words.
The spacious living room fell silent immediately, with the two sinking into silence. Wu Xuan also sensed that something was amiss, but he couldn’t figure out what, only assuming there was some conflict between the siblings.
It wasn’t until half a month later that he finally realized the problem.
Ever since Wen Shu and Bai Yan met, Bai Yan had practically stuck around the castle, persistently seeking opportunities to be near Wen Shu from morning to night.
He even deliberately interrupted when they got close, and though Wen Shu subtly or overtly tried to send him away several times and even directly introduced females to him, Bai Yan feigned ignorance and paid no heed.
Realizing his intentions, Wu Xuan was shocked to discover that among the group of males, he was the last to notice.
Luo Fei and the others had long been trying to figure out how to get rid of this guy, who was using his identity as an excuse to hang around the house every day.
But fearing Wen Shu would get angry, they didn’t dare to take action directly.
However, Rah, being accustomed to doing as he pleased, grabbed Bai Yan by the collar the very night he realized something was wrong, intending to throw him out of the castle.
Bai Yan’s strength had improved significantly; even if he couldn’t beat Rah, he still had the ability to hold his own against him.
At the moment, under the cover of night, the two were locked in a standoff at the castle gate.
Seeing them start to fight, Yining worried that Rah might go too far, and if something really happened, Wen Shu would be upset. He warned in a low voice, "Rah, he’s Ashu’s brother, you..."
His kind reminder was abruptly interrupted by Bai Yan’s deep voice, "I already know. She’s not my sister at all! At least, her soul isn’t..."
Like trying urgently to prove something, Bai Yan swung his fist in retaliation without forgetting to argue back.
This elicited an amused smile from Rah, who, having initially held back a bit, was now struck by annoyance.
He lowered his thick eyebrows, his blue eyes narrowing dangerously, and disappeared from his spot in an instant.
"Bang!"
Dust flew as the wall was hit, creating a deep pit and causing the entire castle to tremble slightly.
Inside the bedroom, Wen Shu was pushing away the medicine from Wu Xuan’s hands, tossing it out of the window, when she heard the commotion in the backyard.
She moved away from Wu Xuan, tightened her clothing, and walked to the window, seeing Rah’s muscled back pressing against Bai Yan, which frightened her.
"I’m going to check it out!"
Afraid it might turn fatal, Wen Shu quickly left the room.
The door opened and closed with a gentle sound.
Wu Xuan sat dazed on the bed, watching her back. His excited body and mind felt as if they’d been drenched with icy water, suddenly plunged into cold silence.
He lowered his eyes, tidied up his robe somewhat awkwardly, and with a flurry of thoughts in his mind, followed Wen Shu downstairs.
Unaware of everything, Wen Shu was genuinely afraid Rah’s heavy hand might kill someone.
She rushed out of the castle, looking up just in time to see Bai Yan’s pained expression, blood seeping from the corner of his mouth, and hurriedly grabbed Rah’s arm, "Rah, stop hitting him!"
Wrapped in her soft touch, Rah’s muscular arm, veined with tension, paused mid-air beside him, as he turned to look at Wen Shu, his violent demeanor shifting to a somewhat gentler gaze.
"Why did you come out? Did we disturb you?"
His lips curled up slightly, openly displaying his joy upon seeing her.
Having just finished their meal, Wen Shu had secretively dragged Wu Xuan back to their room, and anyone with eyes could see what the two planned to do.
Obviously, he hadn’t had the chance to intervene yet.
The males in this family weren’t easy to deal with. Though they arranged a schedule to accompany Ashu, they repeatedly broke the rules.
In a flattering way, they were respecting Wen Shu’s wishes. In a harsh way, they were each deep in their scheming!
He must seize the opportunity.
However, Rah lowered his eyes towards Wen Shu, noticing her furrowed brow, concern flickered on his face, then he glanced at Bai Yan.
"Don’t worry, they won’t kill him," he released Bai Yan, and turned to embrace Wen Shu, saying with displeasure, "He has vile intentions and deserves a lesson."
Wen Shu didn’t refute him. She looked at Bai Yan, worried that if he wasn’t driven away, something would really happen. She held Rah’s arm and advised, "Tie him up and send him back to Bai Family Castle, no more harming."
After saying that, she turned to leave, but her wrist was abruptly grabbed.
Bai Yan’s eyes darkened, abandoning his previous ambiguity, "Sister, I want to be with you! I know you’re not her, even if you can’t accept it, even if I can just stay by your side..."
Before he finished speaking, Rah’s eyes narrowed dangerously.
Wu Xuan, who had just arrived, froze in place, his gaze fixed unwaveringly on the figure at the center of the commotion, his heart heavy.
He hesitated for a few seconds, his golden eyes filled with darkness, unusually uncomfortable wanting to help drive the person away.
However, as he aggressively approached, before he could act, Wen Shu had already taken the lead, standing in front of everyone.
"Bai Yan, I don’t like you. I have always seen you as a brother."
Wu Xuan’s movements paused, his gaze slowly shifting away from Bai Yan and landing on Wen Shu’s slender and resolute figure.
In a daze, everything around seemed to disappear, leaving only her serious and determined silhouette.
His eyes grew warm, feeling as if he had returned to the day he first met her...
"Besides, I love my beast husbands very much and won’t take any new ones," she turned to look at them, her eyebrows raising slightly, stepping back to release Rah’s hand, "You’re not welcome here, Rah, please escort him out."
Still lost in her gaze, suddenly released, Rah’s chest felt warm, and his breathing slowed.
His lips curled slightly, unable to resist the impulse, he leaned in and gently bit Wen Shu’s lips, slightly alleviating the itch at his gums, and proceeded to deal with Bai Yan.
Inside the castle, the males had varied expressions, yet their moods were equally excited and joyful, all approaching to surround Wen Shu in the center.
Luo Fei raised his eyebrows, standing opposite Wen Shu, gently holding her hand, kneading it amorously, and laughing, "Ashu, what would you like for breakfast tomorrow?"
His gaze was blatant, nearly spelling out "I want to sleep with you" on his face!
Even Mious, Nan, and Yining had equally fervent looks, seemingly nowhere to vent, only through physical contact could they release their overwhelming emotions.
With their wolf-like stares, Wen Shu felt a chill down her spine, hugging Wu Xuan’s arm with a dry laugh, "I’m tired, I’ll go back to my room, you all rest early!"
She pulled Wu Xuan along, her steps rapid like flying, returning to her room, closing and locking the door in one swift motion!
If they all came together, she’d be risking her life!
However, the matter interrupted earlier can now continue.
She looked at Wu Xuan, just about to push him onto the bed when she met his dim and profound eyes.
"Ashu..."
His long lashes were wet, Wen Shu’s heart skipped a beat, her hand pressing on his shoulder gently curled up.
The next second, Wu Xuan’s wet kiss eagerly found its place, his tall body slowly descended, embracing her onto the bed.
...
Since that day, Bai Yan was no longer heard of.
A whole week passed, until Bai Qiao visited, Wen Shu learned that he had joined Yasen City’s Holy Temple.
But to avoid long delays, the males urged Wen Shu daily to return to Yudong City.
With no way around it, she had to agree, after bidding farewell to Bai Qiao that day, preparing to leave Alentia.
They packed their few belongings, checked out early in the morning, the other party eager not to accept their Crystal Coins.
And from the residential area all the way to the city gate, numerous Beastmen crowded on either side of the street to give them flowers.
Wen Shu roughly guessed it was because Lu Sha did something.
Just as this thought arose, Lu Sha and Bai Qiao appeared at the city gate with others.
"Wen Shu, you are always welcome in Yasen City."
As they sat in the departing convoy, Lu Sha eagerly bid farewell, Bai Qiao and the Beastmen waved their arms.
Moved by this grand scene, Wen Shu felt touched, feeling as if for a moment, she was back at Dawn Base.
Her eyes brimmed with tears, unable to calm down for a long time, until Yasen City disappeared on the horizon, she returned to the carriage, smiling with the beast husbands.
"Let’s go home."
