Chapter 198: Chapter 198: Whatever You Say

Rivals tend to see red when they meet.

Rah glanced at Mious’s snake tail, then raised his wrist, which was entangled by two small snake tails, and his already dark-gray face became even darker.

"So you’re the father of these two little ones."

The last time they met, it was with fervent hostility, and at this moment, seeing each other again only deepened their disdain.

Especially for Mious, he remembered with all his heart how this damned bandit had forced Ashu.

The two stared at each other with murderous intent, the tense atmosphere growing ever more intense.

Seeing the thick snake tail whip through the air and Rah’s arm covered with scales, Wen Shu quickly stepped forward, holding the cub in her arms, and stood between the two.

"Mious, how is it outside?"

She coaxed the oblivious cub in her arms, who was still blowing snot bubbles, and glanced at Rah behind her, "And you, aren’t you injured?"

With her reminder, Rah suddenly remembered his patient status, covering the wound on his abdomen, leaning weakly against the wall.

"Still a bit dizzy..."

Seeing him in this state, Mious furrowed his brows, his gaze falling on Wen Shu’s face, momentarily unsure of her stance.

However, this bandit was too dangerous, and under no circumstances could he be allowed to succeed.

Mious held Wen Shu’s arm, protecting her in his embrace, and walked towards the house, "Ashu, the smell of blood is too strong here, you should go inside first..."

But before he could finish speaking, a "thud" sound from behind immediately diverted Wen Shu’s attention.

Rah had "fainted" again.

His muscular body lay rigidly on the floor, resembling a small, dark mountain.

Knowing he was pretending, Wen Shu pursed her lips, ready to turn and leave, but out of the corner of her eye caught the sight of the still-bleeding wound on his abdomen.

She took a deep breath, wanting Mious to help but fearing they would start fighting, so she handed the cub to Mious, "You go inside first, I’ll take him to the guest room and check downstairs too."

Mious didn’t expect her reaction. By the time he regained his senses, Wen Shu had already woken Rah and pointed to a room, "Stay here first, once your injuries are healed, leave. Do you hear me?"

Her tone was serious, ready to kick him out at any time.

Even so, Rah stood at the doorway, looking at her tense little face, his lips involuntarily curving into a smile.

Caring for someone while acting fiercely.

Watching her lips move, Rah gently stroked her head, and seeing her stunned, his heart softened uncontrollably.

Why hadn’t he noticed before, that she was so... adorable?

Wen Shu stopped her words, and facing his mesmerizing blue eyes, she awkwardly shut her mouth.

"If you don’t want your injuries to worsen, go back to rest."

She brushed off Rah’s arm and instructed Mious briefly before quickly stepping out of the castle.

Disliking how open the iron gate area was, they had just put up a circle of wooden fence days earlier, planting many vegetable seedlings inside.

Yet now, even though the males had intended to avoid it, the "little vegetable garden" was still littered with scattered beastmen, destroyed beyond recognition.

"Ashu, why did you come out?"

Seeing Wen Shu’s heartache, Wu Xuan shielded her view and pulled her into his embrace, soothing her gently, "We’ll handle it tomorrow, it will be restored to its original state."

Feeling increasingly pained, Wen Shu averted her gaze, looking towards the group of males gathered at a spot.

Nan’s eyes were icy, issuing commands, "Say it, you’ll never appear before Ashu again."

With every sentence he spoke, Lu Di stammered as he parroted.

Not knowing what had happened, Luo Fei stood cross-armed at the side, his face livid.

Yining looked on with apprehension, frowning at the hollow-eyed Lu Di, "He knows too much."

During the earlier fight, almost all of them had been touched, and seeing no escape, Lu Di had hit their weaknesses precisely, whispering to incite them.

Controlling Lu Di and having him complete the Beast God Contract, Nan also shared the same concerns.

Lu Di was deep and his superpower bizarre; if he were to leave this time, no one could predict what would happen next.

This concerned not only their safety, but Ashu would also be in danger.

Underneath his eyes, a sullen killing intent flashed, but with Wen Shu present, Nan did not speak it outright.

"Let’s do this,"

His expression softened, knocking out the awakening Lu Di, his demeanor gentle as he looked towards the two at the castle gate.

"Wu Xuan, you accompany Ashu back, Luo Fei and I will escort Lu Di and his men out of the city."

After speaking, seeing Wen Shu didn’t object, he looked towards Luo Fei and Yining, his gaze settling on Yining’s hesitant face.

"Yining, you should go back too,"

Nan held Yining’s shoulder, dragged Lu Di up, and signaled with his eyes for Luo Fei to lend a hand, "We don’t need this many people."

Understanding his intention, Luo Fei grabbed Lu Di’s other arm and followed in Nan’s footsteps, hurriedly leaving the residential area.

Watching them go far away, Wen Shu and Wu Xuan returned to the castle, while Mious took Lucius’ body and left through the backyard to catch up with Nan and Luo Fei.

He thought the two would head to the dense forest, but instead, they left Yudong City and went straight to the coast.

When Mious found them, Lu Di was nowhere in sight. He vaguely guessed something, looking towards the bone-devouring sea. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

After a long while, he asked indifferently, "Is it all taken care of? No loose ends."

Upon hearing this, Nan’s eyebrow subtly moved; he was surprised by Mious’s calmness and responded softly, "Don’t worry, he won’t appear again."

...

Inside the castle, Wen Shu was waiting for Nan and the others to return, but by the middle of the night, they were still dealing with Lucius’ subordinates.

Too exhausted to continue, she drifted into a blurry sleep.

By the time she woke up, it was already past noon the next day.

"Ashu, it’s time to get up and eat."

A gentle voice sounded softly above her head. Wen Shu rubbed her eyes as a warm hand landed on her back, gently helping her sit up.

"Why not eat in the room? Downstairs... it’s a bit messy."

Light-colored long hair fell before her eyes, and Yining’s cool and handsome face was bathed in a hazy golden light, strikingly beautiful.

He lowered his gaze at Wen Shu and, seeing her staring blankly at him, took a deep breath, "I’ll join you here for a meal, okay Ashu?"

The deliberately drawn-out tone had a hint of raspy mischief, brushing past her ear, making her heart flutter with unease.

Waking up to find herself embraced, with amorous whispers, Wen Shu’s mind was spinning, hardly grasping what he said, she nodded instinctively.

Receiving her approval, Yining’s lips curled slightly. Looking at her dazed expression, a gentle itch prompted him to lean down and kiss her cheek lightly, "Wait for me."

The crisp scent mingled with the soft kiss filled her nose, and Wen Shu blinked, rubbing her cheek with her finger, stuck in a daze for a moment before coming back to her senses.

Downstairs in the dining room.

Yining’s tall figure stepped in briskly, picking food with a delicate glass plate, seemingly oblivious to the tense atmosphere around the dining table.

Noticing his actions, Rah, at the center of the vortex, immediately stood up, "Wen Shu is awake?"

Beaten to the punch, Luo Fei’s eyebrows knitted tightly; his thoughts of intercepting were instantly shelved, realizing that dealing with Rah was the immediate priority.

Mious had already informed them about last night’s events.

The last time Rah was mentioned in front of Wen Shu, Luo Fei had sensed something was off. Now it seemed it wasn’t a mere illusion.

This guy had unique superpowers. If Ashu accepted him, with his personality, he would certainly push to monopolize her.

He must not be allowed to succeed!

The males present were in tacit agreement with this thought.

With Yining having left with the food, Rah followed a few steps behind, only to feel a cold sensation pressing on his hand back.

It was a flat and round magnet.

The dining room, abruptly quiet, saw all the males stand up in tacit agreement, the air thick with a strong scent of gunpowder.

Rah’s face dark, his cold gaze swept around, the sharp line of his lips curving slyly, a deep voice filled with chill, "An alliance, huh? Let’s see how strong you are then."

A loud bang echoed from the backyard into the bedroom.

Under the puffy covers, Wen Shu caught her breath, barely managing to push Yining gently away from his chest.

"W-What happened downstairs?"

She tried to get up, but a scorching palm on her waist held her firmly in place.

Yining’s flushed brows and eyes moved closer, breath heavy but controlled, whispering tenderly, "Ashu, you’re not focused..."

The damp breath brushed across her face, with him facing her flushed face directly, Wen Shu swallowed hard.

Her gaze slid from his tear-filled eyes down to his soft, swollen lips, "Ashu, today’s plans got all messed up; tomorrow, all your time, give it to me, okay?"

The hoarse and enticing voice slowly drifted into her ears.

Feeling the warmth swelling in her palm with the rise and fall of his words, Wen Shu bit her lip lightly, her entire body feeling like it was ablaze.

"Ashu..."

Seeing himself procrastinating, her heart filled with an unendurable agitation, she hooked her arm around his neck, pulling him back into the cramped, heated bedding, "Whatever you say..."
