Chapter 47: Kill Her

"What do you mean?"

Levi’s laughter echoed in the space once again, and this time, Arianna became even more scared for her own life.

"You want her back right? You want her safe and sound. I think you know what you have to do to achieve that."

Daemon gritted his teeth together as he glared into Frederick’s computer.

For some reason, he couldn’t track her.

It was either they destroy her phone, or the network wasn’t picking them up.

Either ways, this wasn’t good news for him at all.

"Levi," he growled.

"Step out of your seat and make me Pakhan, Daemon. We both know you don’t deserve that seat. You’re only half Russian and a bastard."

Daemon’s knuckles turned white from how tightly he was clenching them.

It’s been years since the incident happened, and still, Levi didn’t want to let it go.

It wasn’t his fault that his parents saw him as more worthy and didn’t accept him as their son.

And yet, Levi blamed him as if he’d been the one to manipulate their decisions about him.

"Let her go, Levi," he pleaded. He didn’t care about his ego or pride.

Arianna was in danger now, and rescuing her from Levi’s hands was much more important than feeding his ego.

"Let’s talk about this."

"There’s nothing to talk about. I’ve told you what I want. Step down from that seat and you’ll have your wife back unscathed."

Daemon gritted his teeth so hard that a pulse popped on his head.

"I have about five of my men here, and trust me, they’re hungry for your wife. I don’t think I can stop them."

A deep growl vibrated through Daemon’s throat.

"If you don’t want any harm to come to her, then you’d better make a decision fast. They’re more than willing to get busy taking turns on her."

Then he hung up on the phone before Daemon could say anything else.

Daemon slammed his fist on the table, making the contents on top of it shake.

All he wanted to do was find Levi, not for him to be his woman and use her against him just for what he wants.

He turned to Frederick with fiery eyes. "Found anything yet?" He questioned.

Frederick shook his head vigorously, his fingers typing away on the keyboard.

"Nothing," he replied, beads of sweat coating his forehead. "I can’t get any trace. Nothing."

Daemon was about to say something when he suddenly got a notification from his phone.

It was a video clip. His heart dropped to his feet as he quickly tapped on it to watch the content.

He saw her, Arianna, trapped in a chair with her hands tied behind her back. There was a red handprint on her face, with blood staining her lips.

His hands clenched on the device he was holding, wishing he could jump in through the screen and snap their heads off.

There was a red dot on the screen which meant it was a livestream but he was the only one watching it.

Five men were surrounding her, all staring at her with lustful eyes.

They looked like they were ready to bounce on her. They liked their lips and stared at her like wild dogs ready to tear their prey apart.

Just as much as they tried to look terrifying, Daemon noticed something in Arianna.

She didn’t look scared at all.

She made eye contact with every single one of them, glaring right into their eyes as if daring them to come closer.

She looked strong, not the bit terrified about the deadly situation she was in. It was almost as if she was used to being in such situations and this was nothing to her.

Still, Daemon needed to get there and save her no matter what. But there was no way for him to get there if her location was untraceable.

His hands were tied, leaving him with no options left.

All of a sudden, there was a bang at the door.

A servant quickly hurried to open the door.

There was a woman there, dark hair with blue eyes.

Josephine.

"What the fuck are you still doing here?!" She roared as she stepped into the living room. "Arianna has been kidnapped."

Josephine was the last person he needed to present in his home, especially in such a crucial situation but he wanted to understand that she was worried about her sister.

"We’re trying to find her," Frederick replied on his behalf, as if sensing how stressed out he was.

"Trying? You’re still trying?" She scoffed, eyes glaring at them as if they were stupid. "I have her location. We need to leave."

Both brother’s head quickly turned to look at her as if she’d grown two heads.

"How did you—"

"Do you really want me to stand here and explain how or you want to rescue Arianna?" She questioned, her face hardening into a scowl.

Back at the office...

Arianna glanced at the phone that was recording the whole thing that was happening live. But it was set in a way only one person could watch—Daemon. Then she returned her gaze to the men who were standing before her.

They looked like they were about to devour her like wolves would devour a catch.

If any other woman was in this kind of situation, they would have been tearing up already, pleading for the men to let her go while her voice cracked due to the tears she would shed.

But not Arianna.

She was terribly scared about the situation she found herself in a cozy afternoon after her drink and her conversation eith Cassandra back at the cafe.

But she’d come to realize something about such men.

They always got what they wanted.

Even if you thrashed, pleaded, cried or even tried to pay them with money, they would still forcefully take what they wanted.

So no matter how scared Arianna was, she wasn’t going to waste her strength trying to plead, especially since Levi was watching with a straight face.

She couldn’t even detect a single emotion pass through those eyes.

From his conversation with Daemon, one had stolen the role of Pakhan from the other.

How the current leader of the Bratva was bestowed on Daemon was unknown to her since she was never interested in his history.

But it seemed she might have to look deeply into it so as to not be caught in the crossfire again.

"You do realize that if you hurt me, you’re never getting what you want," she said, unwavering eyes on him.

Even when he watched her coldly like a block of ice, she didn’t care.

"You’ll lose your slim chances of becoming Pakhan if you hurt me," she continued.

"Is that so?" He said blandly. "Daemon wouldn’t want to collect the body of his wife right afterwards?"

Arianna forced her saliva down her throat.

’He plans to kill me afterwards?’ She thought.

Not like she was surprised by his words, but she thought he would try to keep her much longer until he’d gotten what he wanted.

Unless...

Her face instantly went pale.

He planned to get his men to do it over and over again until Daemon caved in and fulfilled his demands.

If she already thought that Levi was a heartless man, well, the hatred for him had just intensified.

But Arianna wasn’t too worried.

It’s been hours since she’d lost contact with Josephine. By now, she was already being tracked by Cassian with the help of the chip in her nape.

Every one in the Wesley had a chip in them, including her mother, for a situation like this.

It helped to get them easily tracked down if they ever found themselves in a situation like this or an even worse one.

Josephine should already be on her way with a bunch of their men already.

All she needed to do was stall them for a little more while.

"You know, I really pity you," she said.

Levi only so much as tilt his head up in reaction before she continued.

"You won’t come out of this alive."

Levi’s gaze turned lazy, as if he was already done listening to her.

Unfortunately for him, she wasn’t done.

"Daemon is going to make sure you pay for every harm you cause me with every part of your body."

Arianna was still unsure about Daemon’s feelings for her, if he actually meant it or was truly deep into acting like they were married for love that it came off naturally to him.

Either way, she needed to use the unprofound feelings Daemon had for her to threaten Levi, if that was even going to work.

Levi stared at her for a full minute, his chest calm as if he wasn’t even breathing.

Then he signaled to his men with a nod.

"Carry on."

Arianna gritted her teeth hard.

He didn’t fall for the bait and that infuriated her even more.

They turned back to look at her, that hunger staying on their face now.

"Fuck!"

Levi turned to leave, but quickly paused when they heard an explosion, then gunshots followed.

Levi turned to his men, a heavy scowl on his face.

"Kill her." Then he disappeared behind a door.
