Chapter 111: The Day They Visited Her House (2)

Sienna still couldn’t believe Zachary and Skylar had arrived earlier than planned.

They were supposed to arrive around lunchtime, but here they were, standing at her door just as she finished preparing her breakfast.

For a few seconds, Sienna simply stood in her doorway, confused, clutching the dish towel, her gaze locked on Zachary.

But the moment her eyes met Skylar’s bright, happy gaze, all her chaotic thoughts slowly disappeared.

"Aunty Sienna..." the little boy greeted politely, his voice filled with excitement. "Good morning."

Without realizing it, Sienna immediately smiled widely.

She lowered herself slightly to better meet his gaze, her attention completely focused on him, unintentionally ignoring the tall man beside him.

"Good morning, Sky," she whispered softly. "Oh, you have no idea how happy I’m to see you again."

Skylar’s face brightened even more.

"Me too."

"Come. Let’s get inside..." Sienna gently held his small hand before turning inside.

However, before they could walk farther, Zachary’s voice suddenly stopped them.

"Ehm. Wait."

Sienna halted and turned around immediately, almost forgetting he was there.

"Oh." She smiled apologetically. "Sky’s father. You can come in, too."

The corner of Zachary’s lips twitched slightly as he nodded at her.

Then his attention shifted toward his son.

"Young man, do you remember what we talked about in the car?" he said calmly, "Take off your shoes and wear this."

From the paper bag in his hand, Zachary took out a pair of small black slippers.

Skylar blinked once before gasping softly, having actually remembered the rule his father had told him earlier.

"Sorry, Daddy... I forgot."

Quickly, the little boy released Sienna’s hand and ran back toward Zachary before hurriedly removing his shoes and changing into the slippers.

Sienna watched the scene quietly, amusement slowly appearing on her face.

She completely forgot about her apartment rules. She had been too happy seeing Skylar again.

Then her eyes shifted toward Zachary. To her surprise, he also took out another pair of black slippers for himself.

A faint, admiring smile almost escaped her lips as she looked at how lovely this father and son were.

"Alright," Zachary said calmly after putting on his slippers. "Let’s get inside."

The way he spoke sounded so natural, as if visiting her apartment like this had already become a normal routine.

And somehow, that thought made Sienna’s heart beat strangely.

She stood aside to let them enter first while secretly observing the father and son.

Skylar walked around comfortably without hesitation while Zachary guided him naturally toward the sofa.

Both of them looked unbelievably casual inside her apartment. As if they belonged there.

The thought of living in the same house as Zachary and Skylar shocked her. Hurriedly, she shook her head, trying to put that thought aside.

When Zachary finally turned toward her, their eyes met briefly.

Sienna quickly cleared her throat and walked toward the living room.

"Have you guys had breakfast?" she asked while trying to sound normal.

"Not yet, Aunty," Skylar answered immediately before Zachary could even speak.

Sienna and Zachary both looked at him.

The little boy continued innocently, "Daddy said we will have breakfast here..."

Instantly, confusion filled Sienna’s mind.

She clearly remembered Zachary saying they would arrive before lunch.

So why were they suddenly here for breakfast?

Did she miss something?

Before she could ask, Zachary calmly spoke.

"I texted you last night. You didn’t see it?"

Sienna blinked once before slowly shaking her head.

"I probably fell asleep."

Zachary looked at her for a moment, clearly unconvinced. Considering the dark circles under her eyes, she obviously did not sleep properly at all. But he chose not to ask her about it.

Instead, he let Sienna quickly turn back toward Skylar.

"Sky, I already prepared blueberry waffles for you. Would you like some now?" She asked.

"Really? Yes, please."

Skylar’s eyes immediately sparkled the moment he heard the word waffle.

The reaction made Sienna laugh softly.

"Hmm. Let’s go."

She gestured for both of them to follow her toward the dining table.

Truthfully, Sienna already suspected they might skip breakfast before coming. That’s why she prepared something simple earlier this morning.

Nothing fancy. Just blueberry waffles for Skylar. Eggs, salad, and toast for herself and Zachary. And of course, latte. Because she remembered Zachary liked it.

The three of them soon settled around the small dining table.

And the moment Skylar took his first bite of the waffle, his eyes widened dramatically.

Sienna almost laughed at Skylar’s adorable expression. She really misses seeing this reaction from him.

"It’s so yummy!" he loudly announced immediately, giving her a thumbs-up.

His tiny hands held the fork tightly as he took another large bite.

"This is very, very yummy. Nom nom nom."

Sienna’s heart melted instantly.

"I’m glad you like it."

"I love it," Skylar corrected seriously before pointing at the blueberries. "And this too."

Zachary quietly sipped his latte while watching his son happily eat beside him.

Meanwhile, Sienna quietly ate her salad across from them.

"Sky, you’re eating too fast," Zachary suddenly told Skylar calmly.

"This waffle is too yummy."

"You’ll choke."

Skylar slowed down after hearing that. Then he turned toward Sienna again. "Aunty, can I eat this every day?"

Sienna was taken aback. "Every day?"

"Yes. Please..."

Before Sienna could answer, Zachary spoke calmly. "She’ll get tired of cooking for you."

Skylar frowned immediately. "Daddy, you also eat every day. Why is Aunty Sienna not tired of you?"

Sienna instantly coughed on her drink while Zachary slowly turned toward his son.

’Young man, remember what we discussed about how you should be polite and only say nice things while we’re here?’ Zachary vents his frustration inwardly, but his gaze at his son reveals it.

The little boy blinked innocently, as if he could hear the thought. "Wh-What?" he asked worriedly.

Zachary simply shook his head, speechless, as he watched his son embarrass him in front of Sienna.

For a few seconds, silence filled the table.

Then Sienna suddenly burst into laughter.

Even Zachary looked away briefly, clearly hiding amusement.

"Sky, you shouldn’t attack your father this early in the morning," Sienna teased gently.

"Aunty, I’m helping him," Skylar answered seriously.

"With what?" She asked, puzzled.

Skylar swallowed the last bite of his waffle before answering, "My dad talks too little."

This time, Zachary actually sighed.

Sienna tried hiding her smile behind her glass.
