Chapter 1094: Chapter 1034: Expanding the Mousden Market
Sienna Johnson apologetically shook her head.
The two people were longtime business partners, and Sienna had always given President Davis the lowest discounts possible; she couldn’t go any lower.
President Davis was also a businessman, and seeing Sienna’s persistence, he revealed his own bottom line, "President Johnson, if you can’t lower the price, I’m afraid I’ll have to find another pharmaceutical factory to partner with."
Sienna maintained a pleasant demeanor, even as President Davis said such things, "Buying things means comparing several options. If another factory can offer better products, I’m happy for you."
At this point, President Davis understood Sienna’s stance.
President Davis stood up and said, "It seems we can’t work together this time."
Sienna stood up as well, smiling as she said, "I look forward to our next cooperation."
"I must take my leave now."
"Please go ahead."
Sienna personally escorted President Davis to the elevator and only withdrew her smile once the elevator began descending.
Back in her office, Sienna immediately called Vivian Abbey to ask about the situation there.
Vivian was strong-willed and despite the language barrier, enrolled in a local language class and managed to learn basic daily conversation in just a month.
"...President Davis came to see me today; they signed a drug procurement contract with six major hospitals in Mousden, asking me to sell at a loss — I refused.
President Davis indicated they would choose similar products from other factories.
Since President Davis isn’t willing to cooperate with us, you should come back," Sienna said to Vivian.
Vivian was determined; the company had invested manpower, resources, and finances—is it all going to be for nothing?
"President Johnson, why don’t we contact clients ourselves?" Vivian was unwilling to return without any achievements.
"What do you mean?"
"President Johnson, if you trust me, just give me some time. If President Davis can run the market, so can I."
Sienna hadn’t expected Vivian to have such ambition, wanting to single-handedly open up the European market.
Thinking Sienna doubted her capabilities, Vivian quickly added, "President Johnson, give me a chance, I want to try.
The three of us from the company have already spent quite a bit on renting an apartment and office space in Mousden—returning empty-handed means all initial investments are wasted."
Sienna pondered for a moment and said, "Alright. Since you’re confident, I’ll give you half a year. If you still show no results in six months, come back."
Vivian happily responded, "Yes, President Johnson. I’ll work hard and won’t let you down."
"Don’t overexert yourself. I heard Mousden is beautiful, you and Brett Jacobs should explore more."
"Sure," Vivian agreed verbally, but her heart wasn’t in it.
Mousden may be beautiful, but Vivian had no time for sightseeing.
...
Rankdorf, Mousden,
Vivian rented over fifty square meters for an office as the Eastminster Group’s branch, with their sign hung at the entrance.
Germans value life and seldom work overtime, but Vivian was still working extra hours.
Despite Mosuden’s modest living costs in Europe, they were still higher than domestic; to save money, Vivian cooked while Brett took charge of laundry and cooking seeing her hard work.
"Vivian, it’s time to eat," Brett called out.
Vivian didn’t look up, saying only, "You eat first!"
Brett got annoyed, walked over, took the materials from her hands, and removed the glasses from her nose.
"Eat!"
Seeing Brett angry, Vivian obediently went over and started eating.
Brett’s culinary skills were taught by Vivian, so the taste was naturally average; fortunately, Vivian wasn’t picky.
Brett didn’t allow Vivian to diet; she ate more than usual every time, perhaps due to work pressure, and hadn’t gained weight.
"Brett, your cooking is improving." Brett shoveled rice into his mouth, glancing up at her with a pleasing expression, feeding her a piece of meat.
"You’re really not returning home?"
"How can I go home without achievements? It’s tiring here, but peaceful. Facing my mom, brother, and sister-in-law at home would be even more exhausting."
"Madam certainly employed you well; I’ve never met someone so wholeheartedly dedicated to working for others."
Vivian looked at Brett and said, "I’ve never met a boss like President Johnson, who not only helped with my mom’s issues but also introduced a great husband like you. How can I not work hard for her?"
Brett couldn’t argue with her, only said, "Don’t overdo it."
"Compared to past years when I battled alone, having you by my side keeps me from feeling tired..."
Brett watched her small lips utter touching words, feeling increasingly unbearable and suddenly stood, knocking over the chair behind.
"What happened?"
Brett embraced Vivian tightly, kissed her fiercely; Vivian started, "No! What if someone comes?"
"It’s likely just the two of us in this building, along with the security guard downstairs; I locked the door when I came in."
The Eastminster Group’s office in Mousden only had Vivian and Brett; Vivian handled external affairs while Brett managed internal tasks. The other three had quit due to exhaustion.
Vivian informed the Eastminster Group’s Human Resources Department to stop paying their salaries but didn’t tell Sienna.
Single-handedly developing the market is glorious when successful, but the difficulties aren’t something everyone can endure.
Fortunately, Vivian had Brett.
Brett sat in a chair while Vivian was positioned over him, being held, doing up-and-down movements, feeling embarrassed.
"Didn’t you say you gain weight once you eat? Why haven’t you gained weight despite consuming so much?" Brett liked fuller women.
Thin women look good but are impractical; at least in bed, they aren’t comfortable.
"How should I know?"
"Eat more, I prefer fuller ones."
Vivian didn’t understand his aesthetics; if she became obese, he might regret then.
...
Phillips Family,
Noah Phillips looked at the lotus flowers in front of him, his gaze deep. Recently, all the lotuses sent to Sienna Johnson were returned.
It seemed she knew Adrian Desmond didn’t send them.
Because they weren’t sent by Adrian, she didn’t care anymore.
Noah picked up a lotus flower and gently stroked its stem with his thumb, applying pressure and breaking it.
"Sienna Johnson, you heartless woman!"
His hand rested on his chest, where it hurt, whether from physiological or psychological pain.
He looked at the stemless lotus and chuckled, "Sienna Johnson, one day I’ll make you submit beneath me!"
