Chapter 1: Welcome To The Bi-State Area
’This is it,’ Cassie thought, heart pounding as she stepped off the train. She lugged her large suitcases behind her.
Her bright brown eyes were tinged with red as if she were about to cry. She couldn’t believe she had finally left the countryside to come to the city.
People poured out of the subway in a hurry to get to their next destination. She found herself being jostled as she tried to find her way, but she didn’t care. She kept her grip on the suitcase, and her head held high because from now on, she would be a city girl.
The city was nothing like she imagined. Sure, she’s seen it on TV, but that was it.
Back home, the tallest thing they had was an old water tower, but here...
The building stretched so tall that she had to tilt her head back to see the end. It felt as if they were building them into the sky. Somewhere in the distance, she heard a siren wail.
The noise was always present but not overwhelming. Smells changed every few steps.
People walked past wearing expensive suits. Some were in oversized clothing. Some passed in almost no clothes at all. She couldn’t help blushing when she saw one girl wearing a skirt so short she swore she saw her underwear.
It took some time to find a taxi, but she did. She told the driver where she was heading. As they pulled away from the curb, the driver began to speak.
"First time visiting?" the taxi driver asked.
"Huh? Yeah, how did you guess?" Her eyes were glued to the buildings outside as she answered.
"Your eyes just went wide because of a parking garage," he laughed heartily.
She bristled before telling herself she didn’t need to be so sensitive.
"I look stupid, don’t I?" hanging her head.
"It’s cute...you’re cute."
Her eyes met the driver’s as he looked at her from the rearview mirror. Her eyes darted away, and her brows furrowed. She couldn’t be certain, but she felt like he wasn’t just looking at her eyes.
She shook her head; maybe she was overthinking it.
The driver didn’t say anything else until they got to their destination ten minutes later.
He grunted as he hauled the suitcases out of the trunk. Where Cassie couldn’t see, he took a long look at her rump. As he stepped into the car and closed the door, he looked at Cassie one last time.
Loud enough for her to hear, he said, "Not only are you cute, but if you give me a chance with that ass, I swear you won’t regret it."
Cassie, despite herself, flipped off the driver.
He left, his shoulders shaking when he saw this. It was obvious he didn’t take her seriously. Cassie felt her face flush red.
She turned to the building, trying to get the driver’s words out of her mind. Staring at the apartment building, compared to what she had seen on the way, it wasn’t anything special, but it was what she could afford.
It was a six-story brick building that had clearly seen better days. The red brick had become rusted and brown-coloured from sun exposure. There were patches of greenery along the walkways, and, lucky for Cassie, there was an elevator.
While Cassie was admiring the architecture, Max was getting a headache.
Having lived in his apartment for so long, it’s not that he didn’t know the walls were thin. He definitely knew. If he had any sense, he would leave.
But the capitalists have deemed him unfit for better housing, and thus, he must stay.
He folded his pillow over his ears, trying to ignore the banging on his wall.
Bang Bang Bang
The rhythmic sound grated on his nerves. Fast, Slow, it didn’t matter. What’s worse, he could hear her voice. The fucking high-pitched whining she always does.
"Nnngh...fuck me...more."
The voice came from next door. His neighbour. Stacey.
Fine. If he weren’t here, he wouldn’t care. But why did it have to be now? Doesn’t she know his sleep is sacred?
After tossing and turning, listening to the constant banging against his wall and her moaning and pleas, he couldn’t take it anymore.
Slamming his hand against the wall, he shouted, "Fucking shut up already! Some of us need to sleep. Stacey, I swear to god if you keep this up, I’ll..."
He didn’t get to finish when he heard the girl shout back.
"I’m getting railed, shut up so I can enjoy it." A loud moan came afterward, then she said loud enough for Max to hear. "So. Fucking. Big."
Max groaned, not sure what he was expecting. This wasn’t the first time. But he really needed to get some sleep. Beatrice had him out all night, and he needed to meet up with Meredith today.
Thankfully, it didn’t last much longer, and he was finally able to get some shut-eye.
He slumped onto his bed, and within seconds, he was snoring.
Cassie stood outside the apartment. She matched the number to the number in her phone, apartment 315.
Her roommate should be here today. She specifically chose today because she had been told her that today would be a good day for her to arrive.
Knocking on the door, he only tapped once before it swung open.
She opened her mouth to say hello, only to see a tall, muscular man standing in front of her.
Quickly apologizing, she said, "Sorry, I think I have the wrong apartment."
As she was about to walk away, a woman came up from behind the man. The woman saw Cassie’s face, and her eyes lit up. She practically pushed the man out the door and rushed up to hug her.
"You’re here!" she exclaimed. "Let’s go in."
She helped Cassie bring the luggage inside. Cassie looked between Stacey and the man who had been pushed out.
"Is it okay to kick him out like that?" Cassie asked.
"Who?" Stacey asked, tilting her head.
"Your friend."
"Friend?"
She saw Cassie turn to look at the closed door.
"Oh," she waved her hand dismissively. "Don’t worry about him."
Excitedly, she dragged Cassie to the middle of the living room. She stepped back, eyeing Cassie. She nodded appreciatively.
"I haven’t seen you for a few years, and you’ve filled out like this."
Stacey walked around her, and Cassie stood there feeling like a monkey at a zoo.
"Beautiful curly brown hair, those innocent eyes that make men want to protect you." She reached out to cup Cassie’s breasts. "C cup, could be better, but the piece de resistance," she paused, circling like a predator, stopping only when she was behind Cassie.
She grabbed a cheek in each hand. "Damn! It’s huge! Why are you packing melons on your ass cheeks? Please, goddess, sit on my face, suffocate me with this beautiful ass."
Cassie’s cheek went fire engine red. She had always known she had a large bottom. But it wasn’t as big as Stacey claimed; there were other girls back home who had bigger.
Finally, Stacey stood in front of Cassie again, her eyes still glancing at her ass. She pouted, "Why is everyone but me blessed?" Then her eyes lit up. "Can you jump and make it clap? Do it for me. I want to see."
Cassie was getting dizzy with Stacey moving around so much. She grabbed her by the shoulders, forcing her to stop moving.
"Deep breaths, you’re making me dizzy."
Stacey shook her off. "Fine, fine. Sorry, I’m getting ahead of myself. If you hadn’t insisted on coming on your own, I would have gone to meet you." Composing herself, Stacey finally calmed down long enough to say.
"Cassie Collins, Welcome to the Bi-state Area."
Hearing this, Cassie took a deep breath. She was truly and well on her way to being a city girl.
