Chapter 1891: Chapter 1878: Sending My Soul to the Bright Moon (2)
As the elevator doors opened, the two people also saw them and got quite a shock.
Although Bo Yan and Xia Siyu weren’t exactly in a ’soon-to-kiss’ state, they were standing very close—definitely suspicious.
However, Xia Siyu was right. Han Yifan already knew about their marriage, so he wasn’t surprised, but he still teased, "Oh, the loving couple showing off again?"
When Bo Yan initially didn’t know the person was Han Yifan, he did move a bit away. But hearing his teasing remark, he was provoked and placed his hand on Xia Siyu’s waist, implying closeness. Xia Siyu leaned in towards him and rolled her eyes at Han Yifan, "What, not allowed?"
Han Yifan laughed, "Of course, of course." After all, they’re not snatching his wife, so they can do whatever they want here.
Before leaving, Han Yifan asked, "What time is your flight tomorrow?"
Both Xia Siyu and Bo Yan were wrapping up tonight, especially Bo Yan, who was here doing a cameo for free as a favor. From before the Chinese New Year festivities until now, over twenty days have passed. He’d finished with Bosch Corporation’s drama and done his cameo; now he also had a new movie to shoot.
It’s the same for Xia Siyu. She had signed for her next film a while ago. Although she didn’t need to join the crew immediately, she needed to prepare for the new role.
Han Yifan too. His company was focusing on a new project, which starred Li Yiru. Nowadays, to make films and TV shows impressive, beyond the director controlling the actors’ performances, the scriptwriting is critical. Yet, original scripts are difficult since it takes time for writers to craft a completely original work.
So their eyes were set on classic literature, choosing excellent tales from works like "Three Words and Two Shots" or "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio." With classics as a foundation and with some polishing, it’s easy to shine.
Especially now with fantasy stories trending, it’s fitting since "Three Words and Two Shots" and "Strange Stories" have lots of tales about fairy maidens and supernatural beings. Some tales are just right as mid-length narratives. Tweaking them a bit makes for perfect short online series of about ten to twenty episodes or two-hour films.
In fact, the company’s plan is to focus on "Three Words and Two Shots," selecting several intriguing stories, and first shooting one story of about ten episodes for the first season. This time, Li Yiru helped Bo Yan with Bosch matters. She didn’t want money; she wanted resources.
Li Yiru signed for three shows at once, meaning three seasons’ worth of stories be shot at once. If it performs well, there could be follow-up films for this series or other sections signed on.
The whole team was creating with a cinematic level. Bo Yan also insisted that the styling and costumes strictly adhere to the book’s descriptions. These days, the audience can judge how well-produced and well-acted projects are. The costumes were gorgeous, not some minimalist mourning style, and the sets weren’t Japanese-inspired dry gardens. They specifically chose real locations and faithfully recreated costumes, putting in a lot of effort, not deceiving the audience, who will cast their vote with their views.
Especially since Bo Yan and Han Yifan had the funds, the special effects could be guaranteed afterward.
For this series, Bo Yan could only act as a consultant, ensuring quality; most of the work needed producer Han Yifan to manage.
Bo Yan looked at Xia Siyu, who said, "Either’s fine."
She then looked at Bo Yan, who said, "The good news is, I can return to Yancheng tomorrow."
Xia Siyu nodded, and Bo Yan added, "The bad news is, I have to leave early tomorrow because there’s a business meeting in the afternoon."
Everyone was busy, and Shang Feifei, even more so. She had been a workaholic since her debut. She wouldn’t wrap up for another two days, and once she did, though not immediately joining another crew, she had plenty of business and variety show invitations. Don’t be fooled by them gathering now; it’s just a fleeting moment they can be together.
Han Yifan regretted, "If you left two days later, we could go back together and find time for a good drink."
Since the New Year began, except for drinking alone on New Year’s Eve, the brothers had been busy, all the way until now.
Shang Feifei also looked at Xia Siyu. Xia Siyu, noticing her gaze, narcissistically said, "Why are you looking at me? Even if you look at me like that, I won’t like you."
What the heck, Shang Feifei was speechless.
As expected, she still didn’t get along with Xia Siyu.
Han Yifan said, "Get some rest; I won’t disturb you two anymore," and he winked playfully, having seen them hug earlier.
Bo Yan chuckled, "Likewise."
Xia Siyu looked at Shang Feifei, deliberately saying, "Great, finally starting tomorrow, I won’t have to see you."
Shang Feifei nodded, "Likewise."
Xia Siyu sniffed before turning to her room. Shang Feifei rolled her eyes and, back towards her, left as well.
The two men exchanged glances, shook their heads helplessly, and then caught up with their respective partners.
As long as they’re not enemies, it’s good enough. Want to be friends? Maybe in the next life.

Afterward, everyone went about their own business.
Bo Yan didn’t take on many commercial gigs. Now that he had money, there was no need to spend excessive energy on too many business activities. He didn’t reject them altogether but chose them selectively. He also had a film to shoot, but like Xia Siyu, he received the script first, familiarized himself with the story, and experienced life. He played a revolutionary hero from the China period and researched a lot regarding the role.
Xia Siyu was also reading scripts, and being together, they could discuss the plots. With Li Yiru’s drama, while the script was being prepared, Bo Yan and Xia Siyu could discuss how to adapt it. After all, Xia Siyu had read "Three Words and Two Shots" and many ancient texts before. Though her insights weren’t professional, she had fantastic ideas. Some sudden inspirations provided a lot of ideas for the writers.
At Bosch, the Bo family no longer bothered him. However, when Xia Siyu went to visit her father, she heard Bo Yi and Xia Sicai were discussing divorce. But that had nothing to do with her; she let it pass upon hearing. Her own time was limited, and she wouldn’t spend effort on unrelated matters.
Soon enough, the Gold Oscars were back on the horizon. Xia Siyu applied with "Sunrise," and Shang Feifei was nominated with "Moon Over the Sea." For both, this was the final showdown, leveling the playing field, one competition to determine the winner.
Then Xia Siyu finally joined her crew, and Bo Yan did as well. Fortunately, they were used to being apart, so it wasn’t too hard on them. By the time the Gold Oscar Awards were held, both Xia Siyu and Bo Yan would have finished filming, allowing them to attend the ceremony together.
And it was then that the unexpected happened.
