Chapter 1890: Chapter 1877: Sending My Heart to the Bright Moon (1)

Actually, her words sounded a bit silly; she usually didn’t use such words to change the subject. After speaking, she felt a bit embarrassed herself. But unexpectedly, Bo Yan really followed her gaze and looked outside, then moved his steps to the window, resting his hand on the windowsill: "It’s quite beautiful."

He wasn’t just saying it randomly. It was the fifteenth day of the lunar month, and the weather was clear and sunny. The moon hung high in the sky like a jade plate. What’s remarkable was that there was a willow tree right in front of the hotel’s corridor. From this angle, it really looked like the moon resting on top of the willow branches, very serene and elegant.

Xia Siyu had no choice but to walk to the window with him to admire the moonlit scene.

Moonlight poured down like a stream of water. The hotel was located on the east side of the city, with a river winding nearby. By this time, it was approaching midnight, with few pedestrians and even fewer vehicles. The once-bustling city seemed to have fallen into a slumber.

Moreover, the colleagues from the crew who had just returned had mostly entered their rooms, leaving the hotel very quiet. It felt as if there were only the two of them between heaven and earth.

However, Xia Siyu was not in the mood to appreciate the scenery. She scratched her head. When it came to having fun, she could come up with countless plans. But asking her to be like a blooming flower, comforting Bo Yan, that was right in her blind spot of knowledge.

Xia Siyu knew that Bo Yan was feeling upset right now. After all, he wasn’t like her. If something bad happened to the Xia Family, she would only feel happy. But Bo Yan was different. Even though he had been deliberately neglected by his grandfather since he was a child, and watched closely by his uncle, he never faced the kind of extreme behavior like the Xia Family, who threw people out on a snowy New Year’s Eve.

Although he didn’t like his uncle’s family, he still had feelings for his grandfather.

He had also heard that after the recent events, his grandfather had returned to the scene, using drastic measures to initially subdue the company’s shareholders and re-establish his old network, temporarily placating the creditors. The results were evident, but his grandfather was already in his eighties, frail in health, and coming out now could only damage his well-being.

In this regard, he did feel some guilt. But what’s done is done; he didn’t regret it, but he still felt a bit sad.

Even though Xia Siyu understood his feelings, she didn’t know how to handle them. On one hand, she was good at dealing out punches but was really not good at consoling people. On the other hand, even if she could comfort him, it wouldn’t help much with family matters; only Bo Yan could figure it out on his own. Just like when Bo Yan knew about her relationship with her father and the Xia Family, he only listened and didn’t presume to offer advice for her own good.

Xia Siyu scratched her head in frustration for a long time and finally managed to say a few words: "The moon looks pretty nice, huh."

After saying that, she wanted to smack her own face, wondering what rubbish she had just said. But Bo Yan actually turned his head to look at her and nodded gently.

Xia Siyu gave an awkward but polite fake smile, and it was this fake smile that hit Bo Yan’s funny bone. He started to laugh as well, a mocking laugh.

Xia Siyu immediately got annoyed: "What are you laughing at!" and raised her hand to hit him: "You’re not allowed to laugh!"

But contrary to her wishes, Bo Yan laughed even louder, and it was a genuinely happy laugh.

Xia Siyu’s temper flared up instantly, and she lifted her leg to kick him, landing a blow on his calf: "You’re still laughing!"

Bo Yan grimaced in pain but laughed even louder: "Can’t I even laugh a little?"

Honestly, Xia Siyu was like a little sun. No matter how many clouds he had in his heart, just one look at her seemed to disperse all the gloom.

Xia Siyu didn’t care about any of that; she only knew she was being laughed at. Damn it, she never pretended to be the sweet and understanding type, that’s something for people like Shang Feifei, who were adept at socializing. She had struggled to come up with something to say, was embarrassed to death, and he even laughed at her!

Kicking him wasn’t satisfying enough, so she went at him with her fists! Xia Siyu stepped forward and delivered a flurry of punches to his chest. However, Bo Yan caught her wrist and pulled her into his arms. She didn’t relent, continuing her assault, causing Bo Yan to wince in pain while still holding onto her.

Xia Siyu struggled for a while but couldn’t get away. She finally started making threats: "Let go of me, damn it! You think I won’t beat you?"

Bo Yan looked down at her, watching her angry squirming like a caterpillar, his heart softening.

This gal, if it hadn’t been for him holding her back in the restaurant earlier, she might have charged over to seek justice for him. Although they always advanced and retreated together, he considered himself strong enough and was usually the one guiding or supporting her during their time together. But this time, it was Xia Siyu protecting and supporting him. This feeling of someone wholeheartedly considering him and fearlessly standing up for him was something he hadn’t experienced in a long, long time.

Xia Siyu wrestled in his arms for a while but couldn’t break free. Just as she was about to look up and glare at him, ready to make another move, she saw Bo Yan’s eyes, resembling the gentle moonlight of the willow tree outside. His voice was also like the moonlight, becoming tender and quiet: "I love you."

??? Xia Siyu, who was initially aggressive, was taken aback, bewildered by his words. The tone shifted too quickly, didn’t it? He was just laughing at her, and now he was suddenly being affectionate?

She pushed against his chest, wary of a surprise attack, while leaning her head back cautiously: "What’s wrong with you? Have you caught a cold?"

Bo Yan nodded. Exactly, when he was alone, he could always stay calm, but being with Xia Siyu made him feel as if he caught her infectious energy, like a cold, with his mind in a haze, breathing shallow and heart racing. There was no room for calm judgment, as she filled his mind and heart.

"If you have a cold, go get it treated. Don’t pass it on to me." Xia Siyu attempted to struggle free again but was held even tighter by Bo Yan. He wrapped one arm around her waist and back, while the other hand reached up to support her head, gently leaning down, wanting to kiss her face.

"Ding," just then, the elevator arrival sound broke the moment. Almost instantly, Bo Yan let go of Xia Siyu, just like a child caught in mischief. After all, they were still in the hotel corridor, not in their room.

On the contrary, Xia Siyu seemed completely unfazed. What’s to fear? They’d already gone public, right? Even if paparazzi shoved a camera in their faces, so what? Being seen by others in the crew was nothing; who would even talk about it? 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

Just as she thought this, the elevator door opened, and footsteps approached. Looking up, she saw it was her old nemesis, Shang Feifei and Han Yifan.
