Chapter 1717: Chapter 1703
"I know."
Zhou Ang nodded lightly, took a deep breath, and felt a faint pain in his heart.
"But take a look at this first."
Zhou Ang handed the note to Uncle Fu, who glanced at it and recognized the handwriting as his father’s.
"This is the master’s handwriting. Where did you find it?" He assumed the note was tucked in some notebook.
"This is the note left for the caregiver by the person who saved me."
Zhou Ang took a deep breath, "You might not believe what I’m about to say, but it’s all true. I crossed paths with the person who saved me in the hospital before, his form, his silhouette, exactly the same as in this photograph."
Uncle Fu opened his lips but didn’t know what to say at the moment.
"Young master, so you’re convinced the master isn’t dead, that he’s still alive, right?"
Uncle Fu asked softly.
Zhou Ang nodded, then shook his head. He himself didn’t know now; his mind was in turmoil.
As Uncle Fu said, if his father was still alive, why hasn’t he come home all these years? If his father was still alive, why hasn’t he come to see him and his mother?
But if he was dead, how to explain this silhouette, this handwriting?
Uncle Fu pursed his lips lightly; something seemed to choke him in his throat, rendering him speechless. He truly didn’t know how to explain it.
But he was very certain about the handwriting; it indeed was the master’s handwriting.
Seeing the expression on Uncle Fu’s face, Zhou Ang understood, took a deep breath, and tried to maintain his calm.
"Uncle Fu, don’t mention this outside for now."
Zhou Ang regained some rationality, thinking that although he believed his father hadn’t died just based on the handwriting, others might not believe it.
Especially his mother, it’s been twenty years. Though she didn’t say it on the surface, he knew deep down she still resented his father.
If his mother found out his father was still alive, yet hadn’t come home once in twenty years, who knows what might happen.
Uncle Fu naturally understood this logic and nodded, "Young Master, don’t worry, I will keep my lips sealed."
Zhou Ang stood up, started organizing the things on the table, and felt a complex mix of emotions looking at them.
Suddenly, a pattern on a piece of paper caught his eye, and he squinted his eyes quickly, picking up that piece of paper, "This pattern..."
This pattern was the same as the one on the wrists of those who wanted Chu Ge dead today.
"Uncle Fu, do you know what this pattern means?" Zhou Ang asked.
Uncle Fu glanced at it and nodded, "Ah, this pattern is the emblem of a sect."
Sect?
"What sect?"
Zhou Ang asked again.
"This dates back to twenty years ago when the master and Mr. Wen were working together and saved a person. I think this person was named Wei, and he had this pattern on him. I remember hearing the master say this pattern was the emblem of a sect founded by Mr. Wei."
Zhou Ang’s doubts grew larger, "What sect was that?"
Uncle Fu shook his head, "I only know it’s called Wufeng Palace, but I couldn’t find out anything when trying to locate Mr. Wei after the master’s disappearance."
Originally, Zhou Ang didn’t believe in supernatural tales, but after what happened with Chu Ge, he started to believe a bit.
The legends of time-travel made Zhou Ang feel that there were many things in the world he didn’t know, couldn’t understand.
"Uncle Fu, is it possible that Mr. Wei isn’t from our time-space?"
Zhou Ang couldn’t help but voice his inner doubts.
Could it be his father, like Chu Ge, spent the last twenty years in another time-space or era and recently returned, but didn’t know how to meet them or in what state, so he has been avoiding them?
Zhou Ang couldn’t help but make excuses for his father.
Uncle Fu nodded, "Indeed there’s that possibility, but it’s very slim."
Zhou Ang didn’t understand, "Why is it very slim? Wasn’t my father and Uncle Wen researching this back then?"
A slim possibility means there is one.
Uncle Fu gently shook his head, "Back then, the master and Mr. Wen weren’t researching time-travel legends, but the Yechen King’s Tomb."
They were researching ancient tombs, their homeland and artifacts, not these bizarre tales.
Uncle Fu thought Zhou Ang was hoping too much for the master to be alive again and started imagining wildly, "Young master, you just came out of the hospital, don’t dwell on these things, it’s late, rest early."
He truly worried that Zhou Ang’s body might not withstand too much thinking.
Zhou Ang shook his head, "I’m fine. Oh, help me prepare a ticket."
"A ticket?" Uncle Fu was startled, "Where are you going?"
Zhou Ang then remembered he wanted to inquire about Wen Zaao’s flight and journey earlier but forgot.
He raised his hand to pat his forehead and reached into his pocket to pull out his phone to call Wen Zaao, but found that he had lost it during the day.
It really felt like trouble comes in pairs.
Seeing Zhou Ang’s mood suddenly worsen, Uncle Fu couldn’t help but ask worriedly, "Young master, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell somewhere?"
Zhou Ang shook his head, "It’s nothing, I lost my phone during the day."
Uncle Fu breathed out, "I’ll go buy you a new one immediately."
Zhou Ang waved his hand, "No need, I’ll go myself. Just happens I need to go to Wen Zaao’s house, and I remember there’s a store selling phones on the way."
Uncle Fu didn’t understand, "So late, you’re going to Lady Wen’s house?"
Zhou Ang raised his eyes, coldly glancing at him, "What’s wrong? I can’t go so late?"
Uncle Fu choked, laughed awkwardly, "Young master, did you forget what you said before? Lady Wen always wants to come over late, and you always reject her for being too late, actually, I know you feel men and women shouldn’t be too familiar, right? I can see Lady Wen likes you, but you’ve always seen her as a sister."
As Uncle Fu spoke, Zhou Ang’s face darkened even more.
"Uncle Fu, where did you hear such things?"
Zhou Ang asked coldly.
Uncle Fu caught the coldness in Zhou Ang’s words, realized he misspoke, and wisely shut his mouth.
Zhou Ang took a deep breath. His relationship with Wen Zaao was merely brotherly; Zaao’s feelings weren’t as Uncle Fu described, this he knew well within his heart.
It’s just outsiders easily misunderstood.
"Uncle Fu, don’t tell anyone about today."
Zhou Ang couldn’t help but remind again, "Especially my mom, she can’t know!"
Uncle Fu replied, "I know, don’t worry, I’ll keep my lips sealed."
