Chapter 1692: Chapter 1678
Wen Zaao was a bit surprised, "That person even paid for your expenses?"
The nursing lady nodded, "Yes, I haven’t seen such a kind person in a long time. Not only did he save someone, but he also helped pay the bills."
Suddenly, the nursing lady looked at Wen Zaao in shock, "Could he be the perpetrator?"
After asking this, she immediately dismissed the thought, shaking her head, "No, no, Mr. Zhou had a heart attack because he was agitated, it shouldn’t be him."
The latter part sounded like she was talking to herself, but in Wen Zaao’s ears, it sounded different.
Wen Zaao had just found out from the front desk nurse that Zhou Ang had a heart attack due to excessive emotional excitement.
It’s all her fault. She had never argued with Zhou Ang like that, nor had she ever shown him such a face. If it weren’t for the argument they had this morning, he wouldn’t have gotten so agitated.
Wen Zaao was filled with self-blame, and her previous resentment towards him vanished.
"Young lady," the nursing lady said awkwardly, "The person who called me earlier was a bit anxious, I didn’t bring anything. Can I go back and pack first?"
Wen Zaao nodded, "Go ahead."
"Thank you, you’re really kind."
The nursing lady walked away happily.
The room was left with only Wen Zaao and Zhou Ang, it was very quiet inside, Zhou Ang lay on the bed, looking very pale.
The beeping sound of the heart monitor echoed in her ears, and Wen Zaao felt a mix of emotions.
Not long after, the nursing lady returned, holding some new toiletries in her hands. She placed them to the side and said to Wen Zaao, "These toiletries are for Mr. Zhou."
Wen Zaao nodded blankly, her eyes never leaving Zhou Ang.
The lady looked at Wen Zaao and asked worriedly, "Young lady, don’t worry too much, everything will be alright."
Wen Zaao took a deep breath, stood up, and said to the nursing lady, "I’ll go home to get him some clothes. If there’s anything, just call me."
Speaking of calling, the nursing lady took a piece of paper from her pocket and handed it to Wen Zaao, "Oh, right, this number was given to me by the person who saved Mr. Zhou. He said if anything happens, to call this number."
Wen Zaao glanced at it and then heard the nursing lady say, "I was wondering, could this be his number?"
"Possibly, thank you."
Wen Zaao thanked her and then put the note in her bag, "I’m heading back first."
On the way home, Wen Zaao took out the slip to look at it, pondering about what kind of Good Samaritan would even help with medical and nursing expenses.
Such people are rare in this cold world, Wen Zaao thought with a silent sigh of relief. Luckily, Zhou Ang met him and was sent to the hospital in time; otherwise, she wouldn’t know what would have happened.
In any case, this money should be paid back.
With this thought, Wen Zaao took out her phone and dialed the number, only to see the name pop onto the screen.
Zhou Ang’s mother.
Wen Zaao was stunned. This number is Zhou Ang’s mother’s cell number?
She was puzzled about how the person who saved Zhou Ang had his mother’s cell number. Just as she was wondering, a familiar voice came on the line, "Zaozao."
Zhou Ang’s mother had answered the call.
Wen Zaao wanted to hang up, but it was too late. She cleared her throat softly and said, "Auntie."
"Zaozao, is there something you need?"
Usually, Wen Zaao rarely called Zhou Ang’s mother. Every time she did, it was to go visit him at his house. She would call first to check if his mother was home, as her work often took her out of town.
"Zaozao, are you coming to the house today?" Zhou Ang’s mother seemed to be in a loud environment and spoke loudly, "It’s a bit inconvenient for me right now as I’m out of town. Come over when I’m back."
Wen Zaao silently sighed out of relief, still unsure of how to tell Zhou Ang’s mother about his hospitalization.
"Alright, you take care first."
Wen Zaao hung up the phone and looked out of the window, still puzzled as to how the person who saved Zhou Ang had his mother’s number.
This question troubled Wen Zaao the whole way back. She first went back to her own home, filled with the aroma of food in the air as she entered the door.
She walked towards the kitchen, puzzled, and saw Chu Ge wearing an apron, standing there cooking.
Hearing a sound, Chu Ge turned around and glanced at her, "You’re back?"
A low, magnetic voice.
Wen Zaao responded with a hmm, "Zhou Ang was hospitalized, I’m back to get some things."
She stood still, looking at Chu Ge with surprise.
Chu Ge was puzzled, "Zhou Ang is hospitalized? He seemed fine when I saw him last night, how did he end up hospitalized?"
"He had a heart attack."
Wen Zaao couldn’t help but step forward, looking at Chu Ge with curiosity, and asked, "When did you learn to cook?"
Just the scent alone smelled so good, which was completely unlike the behavior of a Prince from ancient times.
Actually, Wen Zaao didn’t know that when she was not home, Chu Ge had been studying recipes and found cooking to be a very interesting activity.
Especially when he saw the results of his work, it gave him a great sense of accomplishment.
Seeing Wen Zaao’s face full of shock and admiration, Chu Ge lifted his chin slightly, his expression proud as he said, "It’s a secret, I can’t easily tell you."
Wen Zaao pouted, "I don’t want to know!"
But from the looks of it, the food seemed appetizing, though Wen Zaao didn’t have time to try it now; she needed to hurry and sort things out for Zhou Ang.
Chu Ge turned to look at her, smiling as he saw her mouth watering, "If you want to eat, just come and try it first."
Wen Zaao swallowed and said, "I can’t, I have to go to the hospital."
After speaking, she reluctantly walked out of the kitchen back to her room and took out the keys to Zhou Ang’s house from a drawer.
Zhou Ang’s house wasn’t far from hers; she chose the location for convenience in taking care of him since his mother often traveled, and Zhou Ang had a heart condition, which was why she was given a key.
Wen Zaao grabbed the keys, changed her clothes, and came out of her room.
She noticed Chu Ge was holding a thermal lunch box and asked curiously, "What’s this?"
"Aren’t you going to the hospital? Take these dishes with you."
Chu Ge said, determined not to let his hard-cooked meal go to waste.
Plus, he noticed that Wen Zaao wanted to eat, and since she didn’t have time, it’s best to just take it along.
