Chapter 1689: Chapter 1675:

Chu Ge finished speaking and was immediately met with a glare from Wen Zaao, so he sensibly shut his mouth.

After sitting down, Zhou Ang started preparing the hotpot. It would take a while to be ready. Taking advantage of this gap, Zhou Ang said to Chu Ge and Wen Zaao, "I’ve found some new clues about Wuling Mountain."

Chu Ge glanced at Wen Zaao, who kept her head down with her bangs covering her face, making it impossible to see her expression.

"What clues?"

Chu Ge asked.

"While going through some ancient records, I accidentally came across a note about Wuling Mountain. However, it’s no longer called Wuling Mountain; it’s now known as Queping Mountain. It’s located at the border of the Southern Fujian area, with half of its mountain range extending into foreign territory."

Zhou Ang summarized the results of his investigation onto a piece of paper, which he placed on the table. It had the detailed address of Wuling Mountain written on it.

"This Wuling Mountain has very complex terrain, surrounded by mists and vapors that make it difficult for ordinary people to approach. If we want to go, we must be thoroughly prepared before setting off."

After Zhou Ang finished speaking, he noticed that Chu Ge and Wen Zaao didn’t seem too surprised. He was momentarily stunned, "You guys seem very calm!"

It was as if they already knew what he was telling them.

Chu Ge was taken aback, then chuckled lightly, "You must have spent a lot to find this out, right?"

Zhou Ang sighed, "Yes, it took me an entire night."

Chu Ge glanced at Wen Zaao, who continued sitting there silently with her head down. Chu Ge cleared his throat and continued, "Spending so much time must have been tough for you. Since we know where it is, let’s prepare to go to Wuling Mountain."

Zhou Ang nodded, "That’s what I thought too. Since we now know the location, let’s quickly gather what we need and set off sooner."

Suddenly, there was a sharp sound as Wen Zaao forcefully knocked her chopsticks against her bowl.

Zhou Ang looked at her, puzzled, and asked, "What’s wrong?"

Wen Zaao shook her head, "Nothing."

Zhou Ang noticed her face was stormy, clearly in a bad mood, which made him worried. He couldn’t help but wonder who upset Wen Zaao. If he knew, he definitely wouldn’t let them off easily!

Thinking angrily, Zhou Ang turned his gaze to Chu Ge, as if asking him. Chu Ge shook his head slightly, indicating he was helpless.

"I’ve listed the things we need to prepare. Please check if there’s anything else to add. If there is, we’ll include it," Zhou Ang said, pausing before adding, "I want to get ready and set off as soon as possible."

He initially thought Wen Zaao would agree with him, but she showed no reaction after he finished speaking, not even acknowledging him.

This was truly unusual, as Wen Zaao always wanted to find the Yechen King’s Tomb and her father. Now that there was a clue, she was unexpectedly calm.

No, this wasn’t calmness; it was odd.

"Zaozao, what’s wrong?" The atmosphere around them grew awkward, with no one speaking, until Zhou Ang couldn’t hold back anymore. He asked anxiously, "Zaozao, if something is wrong, you can tell me. If someone is bullying you, just let me know, and I’ll deal with them for you."

Beside him, Chu Ge touched his nose and silently thought, The one bullying her is you!

Wen Zaao put down her chopsticks and looked at the table full of her favorite foods, yet she had no appetite. "You guys eat. I’m full."

She really couldn’t force herself to smile in front of Zhou Ang; she didn’t even want to see him right now.

Wen Zaao went directly back to her room, leaving Zhou Ang sitting there confused, "Chu Ge, what’s wrong with Zaozao?"

Just two days ago, when they met, everything was fine. Why had things suddenly changed today? Why did he have a feeling that he was the one who had upset her? That feeling was truly awful.

Chu Ge shrugged, "You’ll have to ask her for the specifics."

Upon hearing this, Zhou Ang realized Chu Ge definitely knew the inside story.

But seeing Chu Ge’s aloof demeanor, Zhou Ang wisely did not press further, knowing it would be useless to ask.

Chu Ge pondered for a moment before speaking again, "Give her some time. You won’t get any answers from her now. Give her some time to process."

Zhou Ang nodded; that was all he could do for now.

The table full of dishes remained untouched, and Chu Ge said, "You should take these back. We can’t finish all this, and Zaozao already bought quite a lot."

"Alright, I’ll just take these back. These meatballs and enoki mushrooms are Zaozao’s favorites, so I’ll leave them for her."

Zhou Ang organized the stuff and was about to help in the kitchen, but Chu Ge stopped him.

"No need to clean up. Leave it. I’ve got it,"

Chu Ge said, standing up and easily wrapping the apron around himself before heading into the kitchen to busy himself.

Watching Chu Ge act as if he were at home, Zhou Ang felt a pang of bitterness. He turned to look at Wen Zaao’s room with the door tightly shut, filling him with even more sorrow.

Finally, Zhou Ang left, and after Chu Ge finished cleaning up, he came out of the kitchen and noticed that Zhou Ang was gone, sighing softly.

He walked to Wen Zaao’s door and knocked, saying, "He’s gone."

Soon, Wen Zaao opened the door, standing there with a frown, "Did he say anything before leaving?"

Chu Ge shook his head, "I don’t know. He was already gone when I came out."

Wen Zaao made an "oh" sound, came out of the room, and glanced around the kitchen, saying, "Did you clean all this up?"

"Yeah."

"Didn’t touch the pot, right?"

Wen Zaao, while holding her grumbling stomach, hadn’t eaten much earlier.

Chu Ge shook his head with a smile full of helplessness, "Of course not. I know you. You’d definitely come out to eat after he left. I only threw out the trash, nothing else."

As he spoke, he returned to the kitchen and brought out the pot base.

Wen Zaao ate ravenously, and Chu Ge sat across from her, arms crossed, quietly watching her eat.

"Why are you watching me like that? Why aren’t you eating?"

Wen Zaao asked with her mouth full.

Chu Ge gently shook his head, "I’m full."

"If you’re full, then go do something else. Why sit here watching me eat."

Wen Zaao said, feeling awkward, "I know my eating is quite attractive, makes you appetite.

"..." Chu Ge’s lips twitched, "What are you planning to do?"
