Chapter 1486: A Dire Situation

"Trying to run? Die!!!"

Yang Zhen charged forward with overwhelming killing intent, chasing Ling Feng like a madman.

Ling Feng did not dare face him head-on. He could only keep pushing Thunder God Shadow to its limit, retreating again and again. Waves of murderous force pressed down on him. Strands of wind blades and sword qi kept grazing his body, carving deep wounds that cut to the bone.

Yang Zhen had completely lost his mind.

"Have you gone far enough, Junior Brother Yang?"

A voice burst out like thunder.

Song Feilian finally stepped in. He struck out with his palm, aiming straight at Yang Zhen.

The move looked fierce, but it was meant to force him back, not to injure him.

What no one expected was Yang Zhen's response.

He countered with a palm of his own, shattering Song Feilian's force, then followed with a sweeping slash. A streak of blood-colored sword qi tore across Ling Feng's back, nearly knocking him out of the sky.

Ling Feng coughed up a mouthful of blood.

"Yang Zhen, I'll remember this. If I don't repay it, I'm not worth calling a man!"

With the last of his strength, Ling Feng unleashed Thousandfold Shadow. His body split into countless streaks of light and vanished from sight.

At the same time, Song Feilian rushed forward. Seeing that Yang Zhen still intended to pursue, he grabbed him and forced him to stop.

"How long are you going to keep this madness up?"

Yang Zhen glared back. "He's a traitor. I'm cleaning up a traitor. What's wrong with that?"

"Traitor?"

Song Feilian's anger finally erupted. "If you had worked with me just now, Wen Te would already be captured. Tell me, what exactly are you thinking?"

Yang Zhen clenched his fists. "I have my reasons."

"Fine!"

Song Feilian shook his head slowly. "In that case, you don't need me dragging you down anymore. Do as you please."

He rose into the air and called out, "Anyone who wants to leave with me, step forward!"

The response was immediate.

More than half the disciples chose to follow him without hesitation. At this point, Yang Zhen had become too unstable to trust.

In the end, only around thirty remained at Yang Zhen's side. All of them were his loyal followers within the Hall of War.

Among them was Yuwen Liang!

Yang Zhen let out a cold snort. "Go then. All of you, go!"

He did not dare stop Song Feilian. With a flick of his sleeve, he turned and headed back to the camp he had set up earlier.

Even now, he had no intention of leaving this place.

Song Feilian shook his head, completely disappointed. Without another word, he led around fifty disciples away from the valley.

Donghuang Xuanyi quickly caught up to him. "Senior Brother Song, what do we do now? Our people are scattered. If we run into the barbarians or the demon race, we'll be easy targets."

"Yang Zhen's behavior is far too abnormal," Song Feilian said in a low voice. "For now, gather the disciples who left earlier. We'll regroup on an eastern peak. The terrain there is open enough to spot danger early."

He paused briefly.

"And find Ling Feng as soon as possible. He knows the enemy's entire plan."

"Mhmm." Donghuang Xuanyi nodded. Whatever doubts he once had were gone. At a time like this, there was no room for personal bias.

But Ling Feng's situation...

It was bad.

Extremely bad!

Far away, hundreds of miles from the valley, Ling Feng finally stopped.

"Pfft!"

He staggered as blood poured from his mouth.

That last strike from Yang Zhen had nearly split him in two. If not for his strong body from years of refinement, he would already be dead.

"Yang Zhen... you'd better pray you never fall into my hands!"

Ling Feng forced himself to steady his breathing. He swallowed a few medicinal pill and barely managed to suppress his injuries. With Yang Zhen's strength, he would need at least three days to fully recover.

But fate had other plans.

Two streaks of light suddenly cut through the sky in the distance.

Of all people, Wen Te and Drucker were heading straight toward him.

Drucker let out a breath, still shaken. "That was too close. I almost died at Song Feilian's hands."

Wen Te replied calmly, "If not for the Crystal Sacred Beetle sending word, I wouldn't have made it in time to save you."

He exhaled slowly before continuing, "Good thing I planted a piece inside the Hall of War. If Yang Zhen had worked with Song Feilian, I would have been in real danger."

Hearing this, Ling Feng froze.

He had been about to flee, but those words made him stop and listen.

There was a traitor inside the Hall of War.

And Wen Te was about to reveal who it was.

"That piece is..."

Wen Te suddenly stopped.

His expression changed.

Without warning, he struck out toward a distant boulder with a violent palm.

Behind that boulder stood Ling Feng!

Shit!

Ling Feng cursed inwardly. Normally, he could hide his presence perfectly. But now, with his injuries disrupting his aura, he could not conceal himself completely.

Others might not notice.

Wen Te did!

"It's you again, brat!"

Wen Te's gaze turned icy as killing intent spread outward.

Drucker's face twisted with savage delight. "You really walked right into this yourself!"

Ling Feng's pupils shrank.

In his current state, he could barely handle a single Great Emperor. Facing both of them at once was almost a death sentence.

Even the word "unlucky" can't fully describe the situation he's in!

His escape route had brought him straight back toward the sealed devil's location. It just happened to be the same path Wen Te and Drucker were taking.

Running into them was almost inevitable.

Drucker lunged forward.

Ling Feng did not hesitate. A violet glow flashed in his eyes as he unleashed Petrifying Gaze, buying himself a brief moment.

Three breaths.

That was all he needed.

He pulled away instantly, creating distance, then drew out the Bloodthirsty Soul-Chasing Arrows again. Even in his weakened state, they could still slow his enemies down.

"Trying the same trick again?"

Wen Te let out a cold laugh. He rose into the sky as black energy surged around him, his presence swelling like an ancient devil.

With a single motion, he struck downward.

It felt as if the very heavens were about to collapse.

"Die!"

His killing intent burned cold and absolute.

If not for Ling Feng interfering, everything would have gone perfectly. Even if they woke the devil now, it would no longer be enough to wipe out the Hall of War.

All of it...

Was because of Ling Feng!
