Chapter 1483: The Devil Refining Cauldron

On the other side, Wen Te and his group had already begun preparations to awaken the slumbering devil.

"You ten, form a group. Take these five containers and place them around the valley. Do not let the Hall of War discover them beforehand."

With a flicker of dark radiance, Wen Te produced five cylindrical vessels shaped like snake heads. A faint, sealed void energy seeped from within them, as if each one contained some kind of array.

Then he raised a palm-sized bronze cauldron, its surface dull yet ominous. A strange smile curled at his lips.

"That is... a Devil Refining Cauldron?"

Drucker's eyelids twitched as he stared at it, clearly surprised and unsure what Wen Te intended.

"Correct," Wen Te replied calmly. "This was specially refined for this operation by our clan's grandmaster craftsman, Akto. Though calling it a Devil Refining Cauldron is not entirely accurate. It would be more fitting to call it a Devil Refining Cauldron."

He spoke as if it were nothing remarkable.

"My lord... you are not planning to refine an ancient devil with that thing, are you?"

The others exchanged looks, disbelief written all over their faces. If such a feat were possible, the cauldron would have to be at least a divine artifact.

"Of course not."

Wen Te shook his head. "Its power is limited. At most, it can refine a portion of that devil's flesh."

He handed out the five snake-headed containers and continued, "Place them around the valley where the Hall of War disciples are gathered. After that, I will use this cauldron to refine part of the devil's flesh and wake it."

"Once refined, the devil's blood essence will be transmitted through void energy into the containers you're carrying. These vessels are specially made. When infused with powerful devil blood, they will automatically spray the essence out from the snake's mouth."

He paused, his smile deepening.

"At the same time, the devil will awaken and sense that its flesh has been refined. It will go berserk. Once it detects its own blood essence scattered toward the valley, what do you think will happen next?"

At that point, Wen Te's expression turned smug.

A single strike from that devil would be enough to wipe out every Hall of War disciple gathered in the valley.

"A brilliant plan!"

The barbarian Great Emperors lit up with excitement. If the devil made the first move, they would not even need to fight. All that would remain was to clean up the aftermath and secure victory.

Drucker, however, frowned slightly. "My lord, what if the devil targets you first when it awakens?"

Wen Te let out a cold laugh. "Relax. That creature has been suppressed by seals for countless years. It is already weakened to the extreme. Even if it wakes, it will act on instinct alone. Wherever it senses its blood essence, it will attack! This plan cannot fail!"

Hearing that, the others finally relaxed. Victory seemed all but guaranteed!

"The key now is placing those containers without being discovered," Wen Te added.

"That may not be easy," one of the barbarian Great Emperors said. "Even if they are not completely alert, they will at least have guards posted."

"No need to worry."

Wen Te smiled faintly. "I have their defensive layout. For the time being, they will remain inside the valley. The chance of exposure is minimal."

"You even have their layout?"

The group was overjoyed. With that, the plan truly seemed flawless.

Wen Te quickly divided them into teams and sent them out to place the containers. Once everything was in position, his plan would proceed without a hitch.

All it would take was a single strike from the devil to decide everything!

...

After escaping the valley, Ling Feng quietly circled back to the area near the devil's resting place. When he overheard Wen Te's full plan, he could not help but suck in a cold breath.

The scheme was vicious beyond measure!

"If I let this play out, the Hall of War disciples are as good as dead!"

He had already done what he could. He had warned them more than once. Whether they lived or died should no longer concern him. At the very least, his conscience was clear.

But if that devil truly went berserk and wiped them all out, leaving only him and a handful of survivors, could he still turn the tide?

The answer was obvious.

No.

If Ling alone could crush everything, he would not be hiding here. He would have already charged out and killed Wen Te.

If things reached that point, the Hall of War would have no chance left.

No matter how many tricks he had, facing Wen Te and that high-tier early-stage demon emperor head-on was impossible. The gap in strength was absolute.

He would either die or spend the entire month hiding until elimination.

He had entered the Hunting Battlefield to earn a chance to enter the War God Temple and comprehend the spiritual will of a Great Saint.

If the Hall of War lost, then everything he had done here would be meaningless.

"No. I can't let this plan succeed!"

A sharp glint flashed in Ling Feng's eyes.

He could not confront Wen Te directly, but the barbarian teams tasked with placing the containers had already split up.

That made things much easier.

After about half a quarter of an hour, Ling Feng concealed his aura and quietly followed one of the teams heading toward the valley.

Two early-tier Great Emperors and two peak Human Emperors. A solid lineup.

But with the Bow of Yi and the Bloodthirsty Soul-Chasing Arrows, he was confident he could deal with them quickly.

"Lord Mais, this feels much easier with Lord Wen Te's plan," one of the barbarians said excitedly, carefully carrying the half-man-tall snake container as if afraid to make the slightest mistake. "We don't even have to fight those Hall of War people to the death and still win!"

The leading Great Emperor barbarian chuckled. "That's right. If everything goes smoothly, the whole battle will be over in three days. Lord Wen Te's calculations are truly impressive."

"I just hope that brat Ling Feng isn't in the valley. Otherwise, our Bloodthirsty Soul-Chasing Arrow might end up buried with the rest. If we capture him alive, I'll make sure he suffers the same fate as Clair!"

"Haha!"

The others burst into laughter.

"If he dies by our hands, that's already lucky for him. If he falls into Lord Drucker's hands..." one of them sneered, "then dying would be a luxury!"

Just as they were joking among themselves, a cold voice suddenly came from behind them.

"You all seem very concerned about me."

All of them froze.

Standing there, as if he had appeared out of nowhere, was none other than Ling Feng!
