Chapter 87: Relief of Truth

"What do you think about past lives... and reincarnation?"

Cynthia blinked, clearly caught off guard as she tilted her head slightly.

"...That’s random," she said with a thoughtful smile as she looked up at him. "What brought that on?"

Arwen didn’t speak immediately.

Her gaze shifted to him, sharper and more observant, as if she could feel there was something more behind the question than just curiosity.

"...Why?" she asked quietly.

Klein let out a small breath, glancing away for just a second before looking back at them "I... wanted to say this to you guys for a while."

"When I awakened ... I also got my past-life memories in another world."

Both of them stayed silent, staring at him in disbelief.

Cynthia blinked in surprise "...What?" she said softly, the word barely leaving her lips, not out of shock, but because she didn’t know how else to respond.

Arwen’s eyes narrowed just slightly as she looked at him in cofnsuion "Explain, Klein."

Klein let out a slow breath, "In my previous life... I had a different kind of life in another world."

"My soul reincarnated here, and after awakening, I got memories of my past life."

His gaze drifted for a moment, "That ’talent’ you were talking about... It’s not really talent."

Cynthia’s fingers tightened around his arm now, "...So all of that..." she murmured, trying to piece it together.

"Your fighting, your control... all of it..."

Klein nodded faintly "Yeah."

Another silence followed.

He didn’t rush to fill it this time and didn’t try to soften it.

He just... let them process.

"...I didn’t tell you because I didn’t know how you would process."

That was the real fear.

Not whether they’d believe him.

But whether they’d look at him differently after.

With a soft sigh, Cynthia shifted slightly and hugged his arm tighter.

"...You idiot, why would we think differently of you? You are still Klien," she murmured softly.

She leaned in, resting her forehead lightly against his shoulder. "Past life or not, you’re still the same idiot who used to hide behind us."

Arwen raised her hand and gently caressed his cheek, her fingers brushing against his skin with quiet familiarity as she looked at his face more closely.

"No wonder... You felt a bit different since then."

Her gaze softened slightly "I thought it was just because you awakened..."

Klein let out a slow breath, and his shoulders eased after telling them the truth.

"...So," Cynthia said after a moment, lifting her head slightly to look at him curiously, "you’re like... some reincarnated spear master or something?"

Klein huffed quietly, and a smile appeared on his lips "...Something like that."

Arwen’s gaze condensed slightly "Did you have any woman in your past life? Lover? Wife? Am I your first woman?"

Klein blinked, caught completely off guard by the direction she took.

’...That’s the first thing she asks?’ he thought, almost incredulous.

Cynthia also froze slightly, clearly not expecting that either ’That’s what you ask as the first thing, after learning that there is other worlds and reincarnation exists?’

Klein tilted his head slightly as he tried to gather his thoughts, knowing there was no dodging this now.

"Well..." he started in a slower tone "there were... two women."

Arwen’s eyes narrowed just slightly at that, and her gaze sharpened.

"Our relationship was... complicated. And I didn’t have any wives."

Arwen stared at him for a long second, and her expression was unreadable before she suddenly moved closer, closing the distance between them in one smooth motion.

Her hands came up, gently cupping his face and forcing his gaze to stay on hers.

"Klein..." she said softly, "Let me rephrase the question."

Her thumbs brushed lightly against his lips "...Am I the first woman you’ve had sex with? Am I... your first real relationship?"

"...I’m your first, right?"

Cynthia felt shiver down her spine looking at Arwen’s gaze ’This bitch is obsessed with him...’

’I am surprised she even accepted me to be his girlfriend.’

Klein, however, wasn’t thinking about any of that.

For a brief moment, he was simply... stunned.

Looking into Arwen’s eyes, he realized this wasn’t about jealousy.

There was something deeper there, something rooted in fear, attachment, and in the quiet need to know where she stood in his life... something that couldn’t be brushed aside with a joke.

"...Yes. You are my first relationship and the first woman I have truly been with."

Technically, Arwen is first.

Zrryha and Irakiel were obsessed with each other, but they never confessed, and when Zrryha finally confessed on the battlefield, it was too late.

As for Aeloria, her feelings remained unrequited till her death.

The tension in Arwen’s eyes eased, and a small smile appeared on her lips.

She leaned in, closing the remaining distance between them as she pressed a gentle kiss to his lips.

"I love you, darling," she whispered against his lips.

Klein sucked on her lower lip "I love you too..."

From the side, Cynthia let out a small breath ’Holy fuck... that was intense.’

╥﹏╥ ’If he said no, she would have snapped and killed me in anger. Okay, let’s change the topic-’

But before she could even open her mouth, Klein spoke.

"And... one of those two women also reincarnated."

Cynthia froze, and her eyes widened instantly as her brain tried... and failed to process what she had just heard.

’...FUCK ME.’

Very slowly, almost mechanically, she turned her head to look at Arwen ’Shit, shit, shit-’

Arwen, on the other hand... her expression remained still.

"...Come again?" she asked quietly.

"Uh..." he started, scratching the back of his head slightly. "I mean, yeah. She’s here. In this world."

Silence.

Cynthia covered her face with one hand.

’Why would you say that NOW?!’ she screamed internally.

Arwen’s eyes locked onto him, "...You met her?" she asked.

Klein nodded slowly. "...Yeah."

"...Recently?"

"...Yeah."

Cynthia slowly dragged her hand down her face, already feeling the headache forming.

’This is going downhill.’

Arwen wrapped her arms around his neck "...Does she still have feelings for you?" she asked next.

Straight to the point.

Klein nodded with hesitation "Yeah."

Cynthia physically flinched ’OH MY GOD. I am gonna get killed today.’

Arwen closed her eyes for a brief second and opened them again.

"...And you?" she asked.

With a slow nod, he replied "Yes."

Before Arwen could explode, Cynthia cut in "...Okay. Time out. Pause."

She know the only leverage that can control Arwen at this moment before she goes out, finds that woman, and kill her.

And that is...

"We also have secrets that we are hiding from you!"

Arwen: (⚆ᗝ⚆)

You bitch!
