Chapter 1220: Chapter 1216: Returning to the Countryside
Such a big piece of glass is shattered, it’s only natural to find someone to repair it. Fortunately, this is considered a high-end residential area, and as long as you inform the property management, they will naturally arrange for someone to come and repair it, though it will definitely cost money.
Of course, Shen Siyuan did not go and spank Tang Tang’s bottom. The little rascal probably didn’t expect to cause such a big trouble; she was so frightened.
Dou Dou saw Shen Siyuan let Tang Tang go so easily and was quite dissatisfied.
How can this be? Shouldn’t she get a little spanking on the bottom?
So she decided to stir the pot.
"I haven’t even played yet, and Tang Tang already broke the car. This is not good..."
"She hasn’t apologized until now. She hasn’t realized her mistake at all. She will definitely make the same mistake again next time..."
"Better spank her twice, spanking twice will help her remember..."
...
Shen Siyuan, of course, ignored her nonsense. The little one purely enjoyed watching the commotion.
But Tang Tang heard it, and angrily chased after her to hit. The two little ones were in an uproar again.
However, the plan to move the next day was directly put on hold, needing to wait a few additional days.
Thus, the next day, Shen Siyuan simply returned to the countryside.
But this time, he took Tang Tang and Xiao Ya along.
With Tang Tang going, of course you can’t miss Dou Dou.
Instead, Xiao Yue and Duoduo didn’t join this time.
Because Duoduo wanted to accompany her parents, and Xiao Yue went to find Huang Lancai, they had similar personalities, and got along very well.
So whenever Xiao Yue had free time, she would visit her.
The car drove along the coastal highway toward the countryside, all the way showcasing Bin Hai’s unique tropical scenery.
The azure sea stretched alongside the road, waves crashing onto the silver sands, turning into silver spray all over the sky. The distant boundary island blurred into faint blue shadows in the sea mist, like unfinished strokes in a watercolor painting.
Rows of coconut trees stood beside the road, their straight trunks holding umbrella-shaped leaves. The breeze made the coconut leaves rustle, and occasionally ripe coconuts fell from the trees, plopping into the roadside bushes with a dull thud.
Further into the village, the scenery changed again.
Fields of rice spread out on both sides of the road, the late rice seedlings fresh and inviting, waving layers of green waves as the wind blew by, mixed with the crimson of bougainvillea beside the embankments, the fiery red of the Phoenix wood, and the lush greens of mango and lychee orchards, bombarding the eyes with vivid colors.
The air was mingled with the salty dampness of seawater, the fresh scent of rice, and the sweet aroma wafting from distant orchards, taking a deep breath and feeling the warm breath of Bin Hai steeping the chest.
Dou Dou clung to the car window, her little face pressed against the glass, sometimes pointing at the sea and screaming, sometimes cheering at the roadside coconut trees, never quiet for a moment.
Tang Tang also leaned next to her, kicking the seat with her short legs, her chubby little hands clinging to the window. Seeing white geese running past, she immediately uttered "Oh~oh~" exclamations, with saliva dripping down her mouth, heedlessly onto the seat.
Xiao Ya sat quietly beside Shen Siyuan, her eyes fixed on the view outside.
Although she also grew up in the countryside, the Northern countryside is very different from the Southern one, her little face full of undisguised curiosity.
Ruan Hongzhuang sat in the passenger seat, tilting her head to look at the view outside the window, "The countryside is indeed cozy, much more tranquil than the city, no wonder Grandma always refuses to go to the city."
"Exactly."
Taozi, holding the steering wheel, laughed as she responded, "Last time I came, I felt this place was very nourishing, and when we have time in the future, we can come back and stay longer."
Ruan Hongzhuang glanced at her saying, "When have you ever been busy?"
Taozi replied, dissatisfied, "Right, I’m not busy at all, so let Si Yuan and I move back to the countryside together."
Ruan Hongzhuang turned white at her remark, if not for her driving, she would have reached out to pinch her face.
Shen Siyuan leaned in the back seat, one arm holding the fidgety Tang Tang, his eyes falling on the familiar village road outside, filled with relaxation.
Driving from the city only took just over an hour, yet it felt like diving from the turmoil into the tender warmth of fireworks, blowing away most of the murderous tension brought back from the Netherworld.
The car turned a corner, and the village’s big banyan tree came into view, its crown like an umbrella shading half the village road, beneath which elders sat shaking palm fans relaxing. Seeing the car pass by, they all waved smilingly to greet.
The car slowly stopped in front of the courtyard gate, Huang Huijuan had long heard the commotion, standing with hands on hips at the door waiting. Seeing the car stop, she immediately came up smiling.
"You rascal, finally remembered to come back."
She first glared at Shen Siyuan, then her gaze fell on the disembarked Ruan Hongzhuang and Taozi, her expression instantly softened, holding both of their hands and warmly inquiring.
"Ruan Ruan, Taozi, exhausted from the journey? Come in and rest, I’ve prepared cool boiled water."
"Mom, we’re not tired, driving here was quite quick." Ruan Hongzhuang replied smilingly, still holding timid Xiao Ya’s hand.
Taozi joined them, sweetly calling Auntie and handed over the gift they brought, "Auntie, these are things we brought for you and Uncle, we weren’t sure what you like to eat, so we just got a bit randomly."
"Just coming is enough, why bring anything,"
Huang Huijuan playfully scolded, taking the items, her gaze landing on the three little ones, her face instantly beaming, "Oh my, three little darlings, let Grandma have a look, growing more lovely."
Shen Jianjun also came out from the courtyard, with a bit of chicken feathers on him, clearly just returned from the chicken farm. Seeing everyone, he grinned, "Back? Come inside, the sun is strong outside, don’t let the kids get sunburned."
Shen Siyuan stepped forward, patting his father’s shoulder, "Dad, has the chicken farm been busy lately?"
"Just the same as always, not tiring."
Shen Jianjun waved his hand, then lowered his voice to add, "Your mom was busy all morning, buying groceries and tidying the house, talking about you all morning."
Shen Siyuan heard this and wore a subway elderly face, "Her? Grocery shopping?"
Shen Jianjun: ...
"Though she really didn’t help much, she really has the heart for it, so speak less to her later," Shen Jianjun said in a lowered voice.
"I knew it," Shen Siyuan suppressed a laugh, turning to see Huang Huijuan playing with the three little ones.
The group chatted and laughed, walked into the courtyard, which was tidied spotlessly. Two old mango trees were lush with branches, shading most of the courtyard. A loofah trellis was built in the corner, vines crawling all over, hanging some tender loofahs.
To the east of the yard was the chicken coop, where over ten Wenchang chickens clucked as they strolled. In the goose pen to the west, several big white geese stretched their necks, watching the newcomers alertly, mightily imposing.
"Hey, how come there are chickens at home?" Shen Siyuan was somewhat surprised.
Because his family had a chicken farm and his mother Huang Huijuan loved cleanliness, there had never been any chickens raised at home.
"Your mom wanted to," Huang Jianjun replied, with a helpless expression.
"Why did she suddenly think of raising chickens?" Shen Siyuan asked curiously.
"She said she wants to practice raising chickens, so when you have kids, she’ll have more experience to help you raise them," Shen Jianjun explained.
Shen Siyuan had an awkward look upon hearing this, "Isn’t this a bit too ridiculous?"
Shen Jianjun nodded with a smile, "I think so too, but as long your mom is happy."
Shen Siyuan: ...
You’re quite ridiculous too.
