Chapter 1217: Chapter 1213: Little Flower Cat

As soon as the three heard footsteps, they instinctively glanced over, and when they saw Tang Tang’s painted face, their actions instantly froze.

Shen Siyuan’s action stopped midway, the corner of his mouth twitching slightly.

Ruan Hongzhuang’s stretching also halted as she covered her mouth, her eyes full of amusement.

Taozi went a step further, throwing away the jump rope in her hand and bursting into laughter, bending over from laughing.

"Han~"

Seeing them all laughing at her, not only was Tang Tang not embarrassed, she became even more pleased.

She puffed out her little belly and paced back and forth, as if to show off the painting on her face.

Shen Siyuan couldn’t help but laugh, walked up to Tang Tang, and squatted down to look her in the eye.

He stretched out his finger and gently touched the crooked little sun on Tang Tang’s face, getting a bit of orange paint on his fingertip.

"Tang Tang, what’s that on your face?" Shen Siyuan asked, trying to suppress his laughter.

Tang Tang looked up at Shen Siyuan, her little mouth moving as she spoke in a childish voice, "Grew... grew out..."

"Grew out?"

Shen Siyuan raised an eyebrow, holding back his laughter, "What grew out?"

"Flowers."

Tang Tang stretched out her little hand, pointing to the pattern on her face and then the tiny flowers blooming in the balcony pots, speaking earnestly, "Face... face... flowers."

Though her words were simple, they carried a childlike innocence and charm.

Looking at her earnest expression, Shen Siyuan couldn’t hold back any longer and let out a laugh.

He used his finger to gently wipe the paint off Tang Tang’s face, immediately getting bright colors on his fingertip.

No doubt, this was definitely Dou Dou’s handiwork.

That little devil always being so mischievous, he loved to tease Tang Tang.

He lifted his eyes and scanned around the balcony and the corner of the living room, and there, sure enough, he saw a tiny figure behind the sofa. Dou Dou was covering his mouth, laughing quietly, occasionally peeking over here to gauge their reactions.

"Dou Dou, come out." Shen Siyuan shouted towards the back of the sofa.

Realizing he was caught, Dou Dou no longer hid, jumped out from behind the sofa, ran over to Shen Siyuan, and looked up at him, his face full of a proud smile, "Potato, do you think I did a good job?"

Shen Siyuan helplessly shook his head and reached out to ruffle Dou Dou’s hair, "You, always teasing Tang Tang."

Then, he turned to Tang Tang and patiently explained, "Tang Tang, this isn’t flowers growing; it’s Dou Dou drawing on you with a pen."

Tang Tang blinked her round eyes, looked at Shen Siyuan, then at Dou Dou, a look of sudden realization appearing on her face.

But she wasn’t angry; instead, she grinned at Dou Dou, showing a goofy smile, and reached out her little hand to pat Dou Dou’s shoulder, mumbling, "Nice... nice, naughty Dou Dou, great..."

In her view, the patterns Dou Dou drew on her are really particularly beautiful, even prettier than the little flowers in the balcony pots, so she didn’t mind, instead thinking Dou Dou did a great thing this time.

Taozi laughed and came over, bent down and picked up Tang Tang, chuckling, "Our Tang Tang is really a silly little one, happy to be turned into a painted face, come on, Sister Taozi will take you to wash your face, get those pen marks off, otherwise, you’ll turn into a little tabby cat..."

With that, she held Tang Tang and was about to head to the bathroom.

But who would have thought, as soon as Tang Tang heard about washing her face, she started to struggle, her little body wriggling and her mouth going, "Oh~ Oh~", as if protesting.

She had managed to "grow" such pretty flowers, she wouldn’t wash them away!

"No... wash."

Tang Tang shook her head vigorously, clutching Taozi’s clothes firmly with her little hands, her expression determined.

"But you have to wash it off. If the paint sticks to your face, it’s not good for your skin," Taozi patiently advised, holding her and continuing towards the bathroom.

Seeing that Taozi wouldn’t give up, Tang Tang suddenly gathered strength and slipped out of Taozi’s arms, landing steadily on the ground, then took off running.

She ran with her bare little feet, clutching her little monkey toy, her tiny legs moving quickly, scampering towards the living room while occasionally looking back, afraid Taozi might catch up.

"Tang Tang, don’t run," Taozi pretended to chase her.

Barely listening, Tang Tang ran even faster.

She knew every corner of the house, so she darted under the table, curling her little body inside, leaving only a tiny head and a pair of round eyes looking warily at Taozi.

Taozi walked over, crouched down, and said to her with a laugh, "Are you really not going to wash ever?"

Tang Tang shook her head, firmly saying, "No... wash... looks nice..."

She just loved the patterns on her face and wouldn’t wash them off.

"Forget it, if she doesn’t want to wash, let her be," Shen Siyuan said with a bit of amusement.

Ruan Hongzhuang also added, "Kids are curious. When she’s tired of playing with it, she’ll be willing to wash."

Taozi agreed with Ruan Hongzhuang’s reasoning and stopped persuading her.

So the three returned to the balcony.

Even though they left, Tang Tang was worried they might trick her, so she continued hiding under the table, unwilling to come out.

Seeing Tang Tang wouldn’t come out, Dou Dou grew interested, lying beside the table and playing a game of hide and seek with her.

Sometimes he stretched out his hand under the table, shaking it a bit, other times lowering his voice to call Tang Tang’s name, making Tang Tang giggle underneath.

Mao Sanmei finished making breakfast and came out of the kitchen, carrying the prepared meal.

Upon seeing a tiny head poking out from under the table, she first froze for a moment, then spotted the pattern on Tang Tang’s face.

Understanding the situation, she smiled gently at Tang Tang, then pointed at the dining table, signaling her to come out for breakfast.

Tang Tang sniffed, clearly tempted by the aroma.

She hesitated for a moment, then crawled out from under the table.

During breakfast, Tang Tang ate carefully, afraid of ruining the "flowers" on her face.

Her cautious demeanor constantly drew laughter from everyone.

Sitting beside Tang Tang, Dou Dou felt this prank was quite unsatisfying; how could Tang Tang like it instead? Such a curious kid.

After breakfast, Tang Tang pulled her little monkey toy and ran over to the mirror to admire the designs on her face.

Sometimes she’d furrow her little brow, then she’d grin, occasionally reaching out to gently touch her face, seemingly really fond of it.

Dou Dou puzzled, wondering if it truly was that appealing?

So she found the watercolor pen again, and using the mirror, drew a few designs on her own face.

It wasn’t until noon when Tang Tang got tired of playing, the paint smudged quite a bit, that under Mao Sanmei’s patient persuasion, she was willing to wash her face.

Unfortunately, too much time had passed, and some of the markings were hard to wash off at once, turning her into a little tabby cat for real.
