Chapter 1216: Chapter 1212: Prank
The morning light filtered through the gaps in the curtain, casting a warm golden spot on the floor.
Tang Tang curled up in the soft bed, her little face rosy, long eyelashes gently fluttering, occasionally mumbling some unclear words, clearly still immersed in sweet dreams.
"Tang Tang, wake up..."
Dou Dou rushed into the room like a gust of wind, her small body nimbly climbing onto the bed, reaching out with chubby little hands to grab Tang Tang’s arm and pull vigorously.
Tang Tang was deeply asleep, awakened by this sudden tugging, her head still dizzy, eyes not fully opened, body swaying like a little bean sprout blown by the wind.
Seeing her in this dazed state, Dou Dou eased her grip a little, hoping she’d sit up on her own.
But as soon as Dou Dou released her hands, Tang Tang fell back onto the bed with a "thud," sprawled out, her head lightly bumping the pillow, but she remained mostly asleep, only furrowing her little brow, turning over, and continuing to snore peacefully.
Dou Dou: "..."
She stood with hands on hips, looking down at the soft, dizzy Tang Tang on the bed. Originally wanting to confide in Tang Tang, Dou Dou was suddenly tempted by Tang Tang’s adorable drowsiness.
"Hehe, let’s see you sleep in..." Dou Dou’s eyes sparkled with a mischievous idea.
She tiptoed off the bed, ran to the living room.
The toy box in the living room corner was piled with various toys: blocks, dolls, toy cars... Dou Dou lay on the ground, rummaging quickly through the toy pile, her little hands searching swiftly, finally pulling out a bright orange watercolor pen from beneath a pile of dolls.
This watercolor pen was brightly colored and hard to fade on paper.
Holding the pen, Dou Dou dashed excitedly back to Tang Tang’s room.
She climbed onto the bed quietly, trying not to make a sound.
Tang Tang was sleeping soundly, her little mouth slightly puckered, breathing evenly and gently, her face showing a faint smile, dreaming sweet dreams.
Dou Dou held her breath, carefully lifting her hand, using the watercolor pen to gently draw on Tang Tang’s smooth little face.
She first drew a crooked little sun on Tang Tang’s left cheek, the lines squiggly like a smiling crescent moon.
Then she drew some small clouds on her right cheek, beneath them a few shapeless little stars.
Finally, she drew a little heart on Tang Tang’s forehead, adding a few short horizontal lines beside it like tassels on a little crown.
After finishing, Dou Dou stepped back, tilting her head to admire her "work," unable to hold back a "hehe~" of sneaky laughter.
Looking at the designs on Tang Tang’s face, like a big colorful cat, Dou Dou couldn’t be prouder.
This time, she didn’t disturb Tang Tang; instead, she tiptoed out of the room, gently closing the door, careful not to wake the "sleeping beauty."
Feeling particularly cheerful after her mischief, Dou Dou hid in a corner, waiting to see Tang Tang’s reaction upon waking.
Meanwhile, Tang Tang in the room remained unaware her little face had been "transformed" beyond recognition.
She slept for over another half hour, finally waking up, slowly opening her eyes.
She rubbed her sleepy eyes, her little head still slightly muddled, vaguely remembering a bad bean pulling her earlier; yet opening her eyes, her room was empty, only sunlight and dolls accompanying her.
"Oh?"
She tilted her head in confusion, not paying much attention, turning to sit up, sitting in a duck-like position, short legs crossed, chubby little hands searching beside her, pulling over the little monkey doll next to her, tightly hugging it.
"Pupupu~"
She puckered her pink little lips, pretending to kiss the little monkey doll several times, almost getting drool on it.
"Han~"
Afterward, she grinned, showing her small white teeth, chuckling adorably.
After laughing enough, she grabbed the little monkey doll’s arm, flipped over, sliding off the bed, barefoot on the cold floor, not feeling cold at all.
Still wearing her little yellow duck pajamas from last night, without thinking to change, she grabbed the little monkey, with her short legs excitedly dashed outside.
But as she passed the full-length mirror in the room, her peripheral vision seemed to catch something strange.
Originally having run past, her small body backed up in confusion, standing in front of the mirror, tilting her head at her reflection.
Then...
Tang Tang’s little mouth opened wide, eyes round, staring at the little "monster" with colorful markings in the mirror.
The little figure in the mirror had a crooked little orange sun on the left cheek, several light blue clouds and stars on the right, a pink heart on the forehead, originally a cute white face now like a spilled paint palette, a vivid painted cat.
Yet Tang Tang wasn’t angry; her eyes brightened, revealing a surprised expression.
She extended her chubby little hand, gently touching her cheek, looking at the pattern in the mirror, her little head sparking an intriguing thought; my face can grow pictures.
Standing before the mirror, left look, right look, occasionally puffing her little tummy, spinning around, admiring the pretty patterns "grown" on her, increasingly satisfied, the smile never leaving her lips.
Admiring for several minutes, Tang Tang finally turned around, puffing her little tummy, walking pigeon-toed, pulling the little monkey doll’s arm, proudly heading to the door.
She first dashed to the kitchen. There, Mao Sanmei was wearing an apron, busying herself.
The stove fire flickered, the pot bubbling "gudu gudu," the aroma of breakfast wafting out, making Tang Tang’s tummy grumble.
Tang Tang stood at the island in the kitchen, lifting her painted face, loudly "Oh"ing in Mao Sanmei’s direction, wanting her mom to see the pretty "grown" drawings on her face.
Unfortunately, Mao Sanmei was deaf, unable to hear her voice or notice her arrival, still focused on stir-frying the pot’s ingredients.
Seeing her mom unresponsive, Tang Tang showed a slight dissatisfaction on her little face, pouting her little lips, pulling the little monkey doll, and headed to the balcony.
She knew that almost every morning, Shen Siyuan would be exercising on the balcony.
Watching Tang Tang’s proud demeanor, Dou Dou hiding behind the living room sofa couldn’t help but chuckle, her shoulders shaking, almost revealing herself from behind the sofa.
She eagerly anticipated the reactions of Shen Siyuan and the others when they saw Tang Tang’s painted face.
Tang Tang ran excitedly to the balcony with her short legs.
Sure enough, Shen Siyuan, Ruan Hongzhuang, and Taozi were all exercising.
