Chapter 213: The chats.

I just took a look in my bathroom, and filthy water is literally overflowing everywhere out of my toilet right now. Everyone in this building needs to stop using the sewer system immediately!

Zhang Ming 2001: That is complete nonsense! If we are not allowed to use the sewer system, then where exactly are we supposed to poop and pee? Do you expect us to just hold it forever?

Wang Zhichao 203: Just do your business in a plastic bag, tie it tight, and throw it outside. The main septic tank is probably completely full and backing up. If this continues and people keep flushing, everyone’s houses are going to be completely full of poop and pee.

Ma Shuai 801: @Wang Zhichao, okay, okay, shut up already and stop talking about it. That is incredibly disgusting. If that actually happens to our apartments, will we even be able to live in here?

Liu Fang 605: Can everyone just calm down for a second? Panicking in the chat is not going to fix anything. Has anyone actually gone downstairs to check the pipes at the bottom of the building? Maybe it is just our building and not the whole street.

Wang Zhichao 203: I already told you, I looked with my own eyes. It is definitely coming from downstairs. The pressure is pushing everything back up. You can go check yourself if you do not believe me, but I am not opening my bathroom door again for anything.

Old Chen 405: This is what happens when nobody bothers to maintain anything anymore. I kept telling the property manager for months that the pipes were old, and nobody listened. Now look at us. No water, and apparently no working sewer either.

Hu Xuecheng 2004: Damn it, the water is really cut off! Does anyone here have cases of bottled water stored up? Bring it up to my apartment right now, or else you are going to face some very ugly consequences. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Ma Shuai 801: Bro, are you seriously threatening people in the group chat right now? Everyone is dealing with the same problem. Nobody owes you their water just because you decided to yell about it.

Hu Xuecheng 2004: I do not care whose problem it is. My family did not prepare in time because we were busy dealing with something else, and now we have nothing. If people in this building have extra, they should share it. That is just common sense during a disaster.

Zhang Ming 2001: Don’t even think about trying to bully people here. My dad is still actively trying to pull some strings to save me. Hey, isn’t there Bai Li? She has tons of supplies. You should ask Bai Li to bring you some water.

Wang Hao 302: Wait, is that the girl from 1602? I heard she always has random stuff on her when there is trouble. Is that actually true or is it just a rumor going around the building?

Liu Fang 605: I heard the same thing from someone on my floor. Apparently she had extra masks and canned food back when the first outbreak rumors started. Nobody really knows how she manages it though.

Hu Xuecheng 2004: @Bai Li, @Bai Li, @Bai Li, if you don’t open your mouth and say something right now, don’t blame me for being completely impolite. I will literally be the very first person to come down there and kill you.

Old Chen 405: Hu Xuecheng, calm yourself down a bit. Threatening a young woman in the building chat because you personally failed to prepare is not going to make you look good to anyone here.

Wang Wuyang 1103: Yeah man, that is a bit much. We are all scared and stressed, but there is no need to start threatening people directly like that.

Bai Li was incredibly amused by his empty threats and quickly typed a mocking line back into the group chat.

Bai Li: @Hu Xuecheng, stop barking and bragging so much, you absolute idiot. You are such a coward that you don’t even dare to leave your own house right now. I would honestly love to see exactly how you plan on coming over to kill me. Did you accidentally wet your pants from being completely scared by the zombies the second you stepped out the door?

Zhang Ming 2001: Hahahaha, I am actually crying right now, this is too good. Hu Xuecheng got completely destroyed in like two sentences.

Ma Shuai 801: Bro just got roasted alive in the group chat. Someone screenshot this before he deletes his messages out of embarrassment.

Wang Hao 302: I mean, she is not wrong though. None of us have actually seen him leave his apartment since this whole thing started.

Hu Xuecheng 2004: Whatever, just watch yourself. I am not in the mood to argue with a woman who thinks she is tougher than everyone else just because she has a bit of extra water.

Bai Li: Keep talking big from behind your phone screen. It costs nothing and it changes nothing.

Liu Fang 605: Okay okay, everyone please stop fighting for a second. Can we focus on something actually useful? Does anyone know if the building generator still has fuel left? If the power goes out along with the water, we are going to have a much bigger problem than dirty toilets.

Old Chen 405: I checked earlier today. The generator room was locked and nobody from the property management office has answered their phone in almost two days now. I do not think anyone is coming to refill it.

Wang Zhichao 203: Great, so now we might lose water, sewer, and power all at the same time. This building is falling apart faster than I expected.

Wang Hao 302: Has anyone actually gone outside today? What does the street even look like right now? I have not dared to look out my own window since this morning.
